Title: A good website to look over if you are considering Health
Post by: Somamech on October 15, 2014, 06:50:02 PM
Although there are many site's claiming health on the web along with" he say's, she say's, I say" sorta info...  ::)

I have to say that this site is at least scouring worthwhile scientific study's and putting them online.

Yeah Yeah I know the modern day Fad this month is to eat fat for performance as evidenced:

More Bacon, More Fat make's you perform like a slug... when you should be preforming like a friging winner :D

I dunno there, Soma.  The wife and I started a low carb, moderate fat, high fiber/vege(no root veg) high protein diet last fall and I've lost 30 lbs and feel great. She's lost about 20.  Once a week we have a "free meal" that's outside the diet and typically carb heavy (pasta dish) and I feel it the next morning.  Bloated and sluggish.  Once baclk on my bacon and eggs, steak and salad routine, I'm back to feeling great.  My cholesterol even stayed stable. (Which I was a little worried about)

Low carb diets can be used as tool to lose weight in the short run, but don't get it confused with being healthy. Usually the weight lost is healthier than the ketogenic diet is unhealthy. The true test is obviously if it maintains health in the long term. I've used keto in the past, and with many of my clients with great sucess, but I don't confuse it with being healthful, or sustainable.

Nutritionfacts is the best and most up to date website for the real science.

Hey mate I would suspect it's the animal product's mixed with the pasta that caused the sluggishness. Not the Carb's.

As anyone can see on this very forum I was a "Jolly a meat eater" who suddenly ditched the road kill 6 month's ago and have yet to find a personal or scientific reason to turn back.   :)

At the start of the year I was weighing around the 95kg mark,  and now without trying eating a plant based diet with as many carb's as I choose to eat till full  I am now around 84kg.   A couple of month's ago I completed my first Ultra Marathon and I can clearly state with fact that there is no way in hell any person doing such an event would stuff themselves with fat "for the win or complete."

For a good analogy, I still smoke ciggy's like a moron... would I advise people to do that? heck no as I know that is proven beyond doubt to suck the life out of anyone sucking down a smoke stick.. I know my own performance suck's due to ciggy's, hence I do not recommend that to anyone  ;)
