Title: Object (UFO) passes moon - on video
Post by: dreb13 on October 17, 2014, 03:16:37 PM
I saw this link from a story on Huffington Post.  Its from a youtube user named  Crrow777 who shoots videos through an 8 inch telescope.  He posted an interesting video from last week that shows an object traveling across the moon that doesn't appear to be a satellite in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).  He has a couple of other videos on his channel that shows alleged orbs in chem/con trails as well.

I recall seeing a few other videos over the years that are similar to this.

LSWONE needs to get cracking on that backyard observatory :D

[sorry for not embedding, cannot find the youtube button to enter the video ID, mod feel free to edit]

Calling any image geeks:

If the object was orbiting Earth and the Moon is in focus, would the object still be visible like in that video?  Or does the object have to be near the Moon to be visible?

I suspect if the Moon is in focus then the object must be near the Moon but I'm always getting image stuff wrong so I'm asking for help really. :)

What do you think? :)

When we focus a camera for a very far away object (infinity), everything from that distance and beyond is in focus.

SO there are giant planes on the Moon too. :P  ;D

Of course there are...

and on Mars as well... and look they are TRIANGLES (taken in 1954 before NASA was NASA)

and we have these contrails on Venus

I see it was a clear day on Venus.  ::)

Looks like it's in orbit. Any chance it could be the X-37B? I realize it's supposed to be in Earth orbit, but who knows.

I also realize that it's recently landed after 500+ days in flight.

Looks like it's in orbit.
Why? ???

It's just moving in a straight line.

Looks like it's in orbit.
Or it could be crawling across a window on Earth.

Or we could visit the world of conspiracy and say it's the X-37B in orbit because it's entirely possible.

Maybe it is a UFO. I don't know. I'm just trying to rationalize a couple of different things that came to mind.

Maybe it's an orbiter from some other country. Who's sent stuff into orbit recently?

Just throwing it out there. I'm not claiming expertise here.

I doubt it's something in Earth orbit, as the only thing I have seen orbiting the Earth (the ISS) is much faster, it takes just some 3 minutes from horizon to horizon.

I really do think it's orbiting the moon, whatever it is. Maybe it's an asteroid that we haven't been told about.  ::) It's pretty big, which would rule out the X-37B.

You win, ArMaP.  :P

The point is that we can't see how far away it is from the video.

It could be a very large object near the Moon (absolutely enormous).  It could be a very large object orbiting the Earth like the ISS.  It could be a plane, bird or something in the sky.  It could be a bug crawling along the window.

What is more likely?  Lets face it we are guessing without more info.

That's not very likely, as the camera would show it completely out of focus, unless the window was far away enough from the camera so it appears on focus (or almost).

If you go onto Crrow777's channel he has a video where he addresses some of the points. For example he has worked out the size of the object.
