What do you call it when a law enforcement officer rifles through your private material, finds your naked pictures, steals them from you and then distributes them for the amusement and personal arousal of others? I'd call if corruption driven by perversion myself.
I also call it a new and VERY STRONG reason to do one of two things with your mobile phone. Keep it 100% clean of anything you wouldn't outright hand a cop by choice and without discomfort (as they will steal it anyway, by how this reads), or get the software available now to do a destructive wipe of the phone on command or other circumstance. (Some get downright clever about triggering if some idiot goes bumbling around...and totally ignorant of what triggers the wipe)
QuoteA California Highway Patrol officer admitted he stole nude photos of women he arrested as part of a "game" he and other officers in the department played.
Sean Harrington, 35, of Martinez, Calif., is under investigation by the Contra Costa, Calif., district attorney's office for a possible felony computer theft charge.
The investigation began after a 34-year-old San Ramon, Calif., woman complained that Harrington sent six photos of herself in a state of undress from her iPhone to his personal mobile phone.
Up to THAT point? I figured I was reading about booking officers getting their ya-ya's on strip searches or other 'states of undress' one might find themselves in while actually in custody. Oh... No.... That would be sick and crying out for counseling but this was worse.
QuoteHe did so, she said, while she was being booked into Martinez County Jail on Aug. 29 for a driving under the influence charge.
During questioning, Harrington admitted to sharing the photos of the San Ramon woman and did the same thing to other female arrestees a "half a dozen times in the last several years," court records obtained by the Contra Costa Times revealed.

Now, someone might point out this is focusing on just one cop, making just one confirmed pervert in a CHP Uniform. I'd say that person would be right too....except for one major factor here.
This sexual offender trying to get himself busted didn't carry his illness to the open internet. Oh..No..he didn't do that. It WOULD be just one cop to worry about, had that been the case. After all, we don't blame the entire medical profession for the perverted OBGYN who takes nude pics of his patients. We just crucify the Dr. that did it. As it should be.
The difference here is...this CHP officer stole these sexy photos of people in his custody, then shared them with OTHER cops. For YEARS. That tells me two things...and neither are good.
#1. Perversion is a tolerated mental condition within the California Highway Patrol. If it wasn't, then the FIRST time this perv shared his stolen booty, he would have been busted by the disgust of fellow officers not into the same 'thing'.
#2. Violating the rights of, enjoying the humiliation of and general mistreatment toward prisoners is a way of being within that agency and equally tolerated, if not accepted.
Again....The case here could never have been happening, for years, and among whatever cops happened to be assigned to work with the guy, if the above 2 points didn't hold more than a little truth. It's all my personal opinion of course, but having been raised in a law enforcement household myself? NOTHING burns my buns like a bad cop. They say nothing is worse in society than a cop killer ...and that is something I agree with in almost all examples. There is one thing worse tho .... A cop who is more criminal than law enforcer.
What is worse than that?? A criminal cop whose crimes run into sexual perversion and deviance. We trust them to have TOTAL control, alone, over any citizen they encounter as a standard part of their jobs. We have that trust, in good faith that they aren't sex offenders just waiting for the case to make the status official.
On a related note, try to avoid driving through Wichita, KS while black.

Why would you take naked pictures of yourself in the first place, especially with your phone? Isn't that rather stupid?

lol.. You're preaching to the choir on that one. No one would want to see my 40yr old frame sans apparel, anyway. It seems the 'thing to do' these days tho. My kid just had a lengthy lecture at the local high school with a paid guest speaker no less (Those cheap skates don't even pay their own soda bill, so this was surprising) on sexting and pics online in general. Apparently, it's already been involved in enough cases within our relatively small community to demand the funds to get someone the kids would listen to.
That, atop the recent scandal with leaked stolen pics online of some of the better known actresses or, to put it another way, people who should know better than anyone just how foolish sexy selfies really are, tends to show it's a common thing out there now.
I'm with you tho.... Someone taking my pic that way risks seeing how many hits their device can take with a hammer before dying in a cloud of smoke. No accounting for taste or fads tho, eh?
It is outright computer information theft...pure and simple and should be charged. It makes no difference why someone would take pictures of themselves like that or not.

Yes, it is theft, but I think it's funny. Very funny.
I also think it's extremely dumb to take naked pictures of yourself with your phone. Desperate, in fact.
People continue to amaze me, and I'm not easily amazed.

Kids are doing that all the time. The TV shows use that a lot in their story lines where a nude selfie gets published to the whole school. Sometimes they do it them selves for attention LOL
Just google "nude selfie" and you will see thousands of them and most are not under sex watch so any kid can see them
On AOL seems about the only traffic in chat rooms is sharing these pics
Over active hormones at work LOL
And google the headlines

That story represents the worst of thick headed 'just following orders' thinking I think we see in the current society. It's quite a contrast, given the original OP story.
QuoteDefense attorney Shannon Smith, who is representing one of the students involved, told WJBK, Channel 2, potential charges are "very serious."
"These teenagers could be charged with possessing, manufacturing, distributing and receiving child pornography," Smith said. "These are 20-year felonies, seven-year felonies and four-year felonies."
(From above link)
Charging kids with production of kiddie porn when no adult was even present or involved. Really? Is that what the writers of the law intended? That teenagers are pushing 40yrs old before they see free air outside prison for....doing what we ALL probably did as kids before the technology existed to do it in a way they could call a felony crime.
Federal Mandatory Sentencing (http://famm.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Chart-All-Fed-MMs-NW.pdf)
Pages 7, 8 and 9 are what apply here. Taken against adults who exploit kids? Perhaps those sentences are a bit LOW in some points. Taken against kids with kids and all similar ages of childhood? The Undersheriff and Prosecutor in that case are who need clobbered by the book, then bodily thrown out of the courthouse.
If there can be a line where even child pics become a source of State abuse against citizens? There it be...bright, bold and unmistakable. Yikes!

QuoteWhen Nicole Saupe's son was about 18 months old, the Cincinnati-based photographer snapped a picture of him sitting in a big, rattan chair shaped like a wok. He was too cute to resist in his jammies, his spread legs revealing his diaper, his belly poking out from under his shirt. And so Saupe uploaded the image onto a new online gallery she had created.
"Before I knew it, it had been downloaded three times. That had me very unsettled," Saupe recalled. "It did freak me out so much that somebody downloaded these pictures." She doesn't know why somebody downloaded the images – maybe he or she just thought it was a cute picture. But Saupe kept envisioning a pedophile and "it made me so ill."

I do NOT understand why people take pictures of their naked children, especially in this day and age, and I don't understand uploading and sharing photos.
I'm dating myself, I know. I came from an age when people practiced some self-discipline and basic common sense, and always took privacy into consideration.
Zorgon, I'm not Googling anything with "nude" in it! I don't want the Gestapo at my door.
