Title: In our thinking, What Is an "Alien"??
Post by: rdunk on July 09, 2015, 11:15:01 PM
I am asking this question because I feel we are quickly reaching the place where we may need to open and expand our thinking toward or to a new paradigm level about "alien life". If there is other humanoid life outside of this planet Earth, which is very possibly, then how do we confront our thinking to actually process the facts of any such matter??

"Alien" - now, its anybody not "from" where we are "from"! If you are not from Texas, or not from wherever,  then anyone there not from there is an alien, right?? Well that is kinda how we think now isn't it? :)

A fact for us to consider is, once we step of of this tiny piece of our Universe called Earth, we become the "Alien"! NO WHERE in this Universe that is at least 26+ billion light years across will we be anything other than an alien, except on Earth. When we put human feet on Mars, they then will be "alien feet" on Mars.

What would be a better way for us to adapt our thinking so that we can begin to see ourselves as a small piece of a much greater whole?? Maybe a simple new term for us to identify with, that addresses who we are, while not "off-terming" someone not from here could be a start for us. We do already use such terms for possible others, and could adapt such for ourselves. Anyone from Mars is...........a Martian, from Venus......a Venetian. So, what is the right term for we from Earth? Earthen maybe?? Or Earthasian maybe?? At least whatever a new word identifier for us might be, it could give us the appearance of actually being more ready to leave this planet for beginning spacial exploration. :)

Your thoughts?

Shouldn't that be "Venusian"?  Venetian is someone or something from Veneto, the Italian region that has as its capital and most famous city Venice.

Why not "Terrestrials"? We already use "extraterrestrial" to mean someone not from Earth.

I disagree, but I am not an imaginative person and I dislike "appearances", things are what they are. :)

I believe we would just call ourselves "Humans"... I'm sure they'll find a much more suitable name for us.

I really was simply throwing out the idea of a name that somehow identifies us to our place or origin, - something other than "us and the aliens". And i was using the "for instance name words" to convey the more broad idea. :)

In my mind "aliens" are those illegal Mexican drug dealing scum that fly Mexican flags on American soil while breaking all our laws and spitting on our way of life while pretending to want to become 'landed immigrants"

I would say we need to use the words Extra Terrestrial (ET) more to be clear.  However since ALL the various God's Devils Demons and assorted Angels are NOT OF THIS EARTH they are in the truest meaning of the words ET. So anyone believing in any of the afore mentioned Deities by DEFAULT believes in aliens of the third kind...  THAT is why the Pope is ready to baptize them :P

Yes I used that premise at ATS  about finding Alien spaceships om Mars. I posted small blobs on the surface and was blasted by the usual crowd...  What I posted was pictures of OUR spacecraft on Mars... :P but the usual moronic skepto bunkers and uber mods of ATS decided it was a HOAX thread :P  then used the same quality photos to prove we had spacecraft on the moon... go figure :P

Yes the aliens on the moon are US :D

That is Venusian for Venus :P  AS for Earth.. what a dumb name for a planet  might as well call it Planet Dirt :P

I would use TERRA

Terra is the Latin name for Earth  You find in in Extra Terrestrial

That would make us TERRANS and you would be a TERRESTRIAL :P

Well for instance... If the Fallen Angels and Lucifer were cast down to Earth, that makes them landed immegrants and they become TERRESTRIAL as opposed to EXTRA TERRESTRIAL :P

Question is were they issued a Green Card or are they Illegal Aliens?

PONDER Upon THAT a bit :P

What is in a name?

In Ancient Earth is Terra..., Midgard to the humans settled by the Asgard, Tau'ri in the language of theGoa'uld, and designated P2X-3YZ by the Tau'ri, is the home planet of the Tau'ri and the cradle of human civilization in the Milky Way.

Actually, with some of the things the Pope has said during his short "reign", there may be a lot more going on with him than just typical Church related stuff. God does use people to cause things to happen in a way that fulfills His plan. He used Judas, one of the twelve apostles, to betray Jesus, an act that led to his crucifixion. The Pope is regarded by many (but not by all) as THE TOP CHURCH GUY of the Earth, so would not he be the person that satan might most likely try to use to influence people toward him in these last days?? We just need to be sensitive to what we see and hear from the Pope, and from everyone!! :)
