Here is a narrative from Space.com that gives some detail on this "Black Void". Space.com just calls it a "huge hole in the universe". I did notice that the date on this article is August 23, 2007.

Some years back I attended a UFO meeting where a large group of people were meeting in a back room at a Good Will store in Oshkosh Wi. The room was packed but I got a seat at the head of the table. Everyone introduced their selves and talked about something new from all the weirdness of the world.
It's now my turn, so I turn it on. I tell them my story of the 1988 abduction and people are jaw dropped and some even holding their head down with eyes closed moving their head back and forth.
I end the talk with "to get to the light, you have to travel the darkness". The friggin room erupted with people yelling, pounding their palms on the table and In that moment I knew if someone had a rope, they would have dragged me from that room and hung me. And this was believers in the UFO. Of course it being a christian group didn't help, but hey, you never know what will come out of my mouth when talking making people feel uncomfortable by my voice.
Now as to that void in space, I call bs cause they can't even see little s h i t on the moon let alone a void somewhere out there. Most of that space news is made up and when you see those dazzling color images of purple, green, blue and stuff like that, it's razzle dazzled by someone to make people go ooooooh and aaaaaw, using a graphics program. Space is black and white.
This "void" is so interesting, generally a hole with nothing in it would seem like a path from one place to another.
Like Gigas I often wonder how the "see" so much. I realize most is suposed to be extrapolated from data, but it seems they know to much at to far distances.
This again is where my belief in the secret space program comes in and likely information obtained from other beings.
And now a report of another object that "contradicts the current models of the universe"

I remember the that one... They were in search of (Sha-kah-ree) the Vulcan mythological planet. They had to break through the barrier at the center of the galaxy to find it. It was Spock's bro (Sybok) that lead the band of searchers.

About 3.5 months ago I posted something very similar to this - and maybe it is discussing the same "empty entity" in our Universe?? In this April 20, 2015 article in The Telegraph, it discusses the size of the "supervoid" as being 1.8 billion light years across, and about 3 billion light years away! I love Star Trek, those writers have been 'clued in' from before the start.
I've been trying to locate a piece written by Roddenbury for agesss... It was an opening that he wrote for one of the scripts, only it had NOTHING to do with the script of the program... In it he spoke about his political and ideological beliefs etc... Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to find it?

Yesterday, I was looking at a photo that compared the curviture of the earth from a photo taken from ISS to a photo taken when that felix guy was doing his space jump.. The creators of the photo wanted to know why the earth looked identical in both.. Don't know if it's significant, but the 'flat earth' peeps are seeing a revival of their questions...

Lets take a little side trip to star trek voyager and coda.
This is about death and from what I know and seen, we enter a void of darkness at passing. I was there numerous times and eventually shown a huge ball of bright light with tiny flecks of light coming and going. It is my position that because I refuse to believe in a god and brush off religious doctrin, I have a choice to that void out there as a door way out a here if only we can become fearless and take that route. What if we are slaves held against our free will in this place by a dark force playing with it's possessions and the light is the trap.

I did have one meditation teacher who said that you needed to be conscious when you died
because the main question you wanted to ask is WHO ARE YOU.. to the entity you meet
and to remember that you still had a choice until you moved on thur..
that spooked me for a long time until I came across some other info about how to use lucid dreaming
for expanded intell...kinda like rv but not..rv you are merely observing - well the old rv anyway
but with the lucid dreaming you are gathering intel and making choices for your own direction
then some years ago the theory came out about the white light thing just being a recycling bin to back here
but under the directive of not so wonderful times
so I guess the real thing is to be aware even in death and ask where is this and who's in charge...
takes a bit of practice..I have a bad habit of falling asleep in the lucid dreaming stage..makes for the real need for caffeine in the morning..lol

Most likely to do with the lens used. Most wide angle shots use some degree of fish eye lens which exaggerates curve. Yeah seems the Flat Earth people are gaining LOL But I think that is aggravated by NASA making 'fudged' images. Since no one else is really out there, it gets easy to believe its ALL a lie
People cannot fathom how NASA can tell us there is an Earth Like planet 100's of light years away but we can't see good pictures of the Moon :P
The fact that they use animations and artists concepts more than actual photos, the fact that they deliberately "enhance" images that we can easily spot as 'fudged" is building a real distrust for NASA
Is the Earth Flat? LOL run water in your sink down the drain proves it spins. I can look at a telescope and see all the planets and the sun are round spheres. I don't need NASA to tell me.
I can see the shadow of the Earth on the moon during an eclipse... it is curved :D
But I cannot argue with the Qur'an that supposedly claims the Earth is Flat and stationary
