Title: Queensland Coast Beach Huge Sinkhole Swallows Beach and Vehicles
Post by: burntheships on September 27, 2015, 12:58:59 AM
Major sinkhole on Queensland coast swallows vehicles

QuoteThe sinkhole, bigger than a football field and several metres deep, developed at Inskip Point around midnight.

Police said the hole opened up slowly from about 11pm and was estimated to be about 100 metres by 100 metres and around three metres deep.

The 100-metre long sinkhole opened up at MV Beagle Campground, north of Queensland's Rainbow Beach at Inskip Point.

Around 140 people were evacuated to safer parts of the national park.

Police say the hole opened up slowly at Inskip Point from about 10.30pm and initial reports estimated the sinkhole to be about 100 metres by 100 metres and around three metres deep.

There have been earthquakes in the region last few weeks...

I never heard of sinkholes opening like they have been in 2000 and on. It's happening all over the planet.

This is scary since it happened when everyone was sleeping or should be sleeping at that beach. Then that guy in Florida who was sleeping and the bedroom floor caved in to a sink hole. Where did the guy go.

I dunno if this is something I should be worried about, but a couple a days ago my house suddenly shook up and down, the walls and ceiling creaked and then a bomb from below. It was in that order. I went wth and looked out side but nothing around. I know my house is on soft earth and possibly an under ground spring.

Is the earth reclaiming surface material where what was once on top will now be below. Many archeological finds are buried under ground. That old guy Lindsey Williams wrote about a drilling outfit that went down a thousand or more feet with exploratory drill and began to pull up palm trees and stuff.

Gigas,

In this case in Queensland there were previous signs,
in 2011 there was a sinkhole in the same area.

No one has been injured seriously in either case.

:)

I wouldnt worry, take care.

ETA: The palm trees underneath are interesting, was that
in Alaska? Pole shift has happened in the past,
so the experts say...it left records in the Lava flows.

I think we just see more of this because of two reasons:
1 - there are few unpopulated places left
2 - what could have been a short news piece on a local paper some years ago now is global news.

Giga, if I were you I would be looking at the type of geological area where you live, better safe than sorry.
