Title: Space Balls? The case for Alien orbs
Post by: Dyna on December 02, 2015, 07:04:22 PM
balls balls balls, metallic, foo fighters, colored, lighted balls!

The design on the bottom is interesting.

At approximately 7:00 pm. Seo, Mori, Fujimoto, Kojima and Yuji arrived at the rice field. The boys kept a steadfast vigil for the better part of an hour when, to the shock of everyone except Seo, the small object returned. The thrilled teens stared at the strange object that was hovering over the field approximately 60-feet from them. Then, as the sun dipped low over the horizon and dusk began to settle in, the device began to emit a pulsating multicolored light.

The Betz Ball in Florida

The "ball from space" was examined by Dr Carl Williston of Omega Minus One, an institution located in the state of Louisiana at the time. In his six hours of testing, Dr Williston found that the sphere contained three magnetic poles and a possible fourth. He stated that the aspect of the magnetic field was a mind bender, the flux density of the field appeared to vary in strength based on an unknown pattern. Simply stated, the power of the magnetic portion varied up and down. Back in 1974, this phenomenon was not part of our known physics. The same applied to the multiple poles.

DECATUR, ALABAMA orb
When it was coming through the sky, I really thought it was an airplane that lost control so I came to a complete stop on the road. When I got out and looked at it was no sound coming from it."

No sound, and he says it didn't appear to be an aircraft.

"It speed up to maybe two hundred miles per hour it went straight to the ground and disappeared."

Some people say they saw Med-Flight back here but some people say they saw something else.

Cody says he saw three military helicopters in the air and ambulance on the ground.

"We saw what was in the ambulance and to me it looked like what was a giant pearl and it was shiny. It put off kind of like a diamond type reflection on it"."
http://www.waff.com/global/story.asp?s=8233065

On the Med Flight stretcher, the best I can describe it is a giant pearl - a shiny, white sphere. It looked like the color of a diamond and a pearl – I mean, it was really bright, reflected light. Two guys were there looking like they were dusting on it or doing something.

DID YOU SEE EITHER OF THE MEN IN THE WHITE PROTECTIVE SUITS EXTEND THEIR HANDS, OR GLOVED HANDS, ONTO THE SPHERE?

No, I didn't see them touch it, but I did see them rub it with whatever they were rubbing it with. And when they threw sheets on it, they never touched it. They threw the sheets over it without touching it and then wrapped it up and tucked in the sheet.

Over at Whitley's (Unknowncountry.com) - some time ago - there was a picture - I believe it was taken by Google Maps, during the aerial mapping process over Florida. The picture inadvertently captured an almost similar (pearl-like) item in flight.

Sure does :P So does the one from Texas

That might be becauuse they are titanium fuel tanks that don't burn up on reentry

'Space Balls' Crash Land In Vietnam
The largest of the three orbs weighed nearly 100 pounds.

vid I can't see

Was this the work of Dark Helmet... or just Vladimir Putin?

Several mysterious metal orbs dubbed "space balls" landed in Vietnam on Saturday morning.

"The sky was clear, suddenly we heard a thunder-like noise," a witness told the Thanh Nien website.

Three orbs were found, including one that landed next to a stream and one found in a garden, ranging in size from nearly 100 pounds to just 9 ounces.

The Vietnamese military closed off the areas to investigate, the website reported

A preliminary investigation found that the objects were compressed air tanks, possibly from a launch device, VietNamNet Bridge reported. Officials told the website they believe the orbs were made in Russia, but it's not clear if they belonged to the country or were just manufactured there.

Mysterious 'Space Balls' Smash Into Northern Vietnam

Published on Monday, 04 January 2016 09:37   Written by Saigoneer.

Authorities in northern Vietnam remained stumped about a pair of "space balls" that fell from the sky this weekend.

dang can't get that pic either..grrrrrrrrrrrr
At around 6am last Saturday morning, a metal sphere 80 centimeters in diameter struck northern Tuyen Quang province, landing in a remote area near a stream, reports Thanh Nien.

"The sky was clear," one witness told Thanh Nien. "Suddenly, we heard a thunder-like noise."

Shortly thereafter, another such object fell to Earth in neighboring Yen Bai province, hitting a garden. The second "space ball" was smaller, measuring roughly 27 centimeters in diameter, however similar in shape to the first.

Military personnel have cordoned off areas for investigation and determined that neither of the "space balls" contain explosives, however authorities are otherwise left scratching their heads as to the origin of the fallen objects.

According to Thanh Nien, similar spheres have fallen from the sky on other continents over the past 20 years, including four such objects found last October in Spain and Turkey. By NASA's count, over 500,000 pieces of space debris currently orbit Earth and occasionally drop from the sky.

Vietnam: Officials probe mysterious 'space balls'

By News from Elsewhere...

Vietnam's defence ministry says it's still investigating, but believes the items are likely to be space debris

Defence officials in Vietnam are investigating the origin of three metal spheres which fell from the sky in the north of the country.

The largest object weighs about 45kg (99lb) and was found near a stream in Tuyen Quang province, the Thanh Nien News website reports. Another orb landed in local resident's garden in the neighbouring Yen Bai region, while the lightest, weighing 250g (9oz), came down on a nearby roof before rolling onto the ground, the website says. Local people reported hearing what sounded like thunder in the minutes before the objects were found.

An initial investigation by Vietnam's defence ministry has so far determined that the objects are compressed-air tanks from an aircraft or rocket, and that - at least now they're no longer airborne - they aren't dangerous. It says the orbs were manufactured in Russia, but that its not clear if they were subsequently sold to another country for use.

Aerospace expert Prof Nguyen Khoa Son thinks they could belong to an old satellite that failed to burn up in the Earth's atmosphere. But he tells the Vietnam Bridge website that the objects don't appear to be damaged, so they may be the result of a failed satellite launch.

The metal spheres varied in size but the largest had a diameter of 100cm (39in)

I remember a dirt biker I think in the UK years ago asking on ATS what the ball was he found, it looked quit old but otherwise like the ones that keep dropping now. part of the invisible floating cities no doubt ;D

That "orb" in the picture from South Africa sure looks to have a thick bead of weld around it.

yes there is a bead of welding around the center as the tanks are made in halves on a press using red hot furnaces to form the titanium. These tanks can easily survive reentry temperatures

The round fuel tanks from space craft are made of titanium. Titanium has a very high melting point;

Melting point   1941 °K(1668 °C, 3034 °F)

Since the tanks are relatively light weight and round, they tend not to burn up as they reenter when a spacecraft dies   So you find them all over the world

I have a sheet of titanium for making swords You need a plasma torch to cut it Its really tough stuff

They look like THIS when new...

And like THIS after reentry :P

I haven't heard of those moving around on their own though have you?

Well sure... the rest of the spacecraft burns up on reentry  leaving the tanks

As to them flying around I would say those are either tall tales or something else.

People tend to make up all sorts of stories to explain stuff they found

The ones that REALLY bother me are the 'experts'  like this guy

Aerospace expert Prof Nguyen Khoa Son thinks they could belong to an old satellite that failed to burn up in the Earth's atmosphere. But he tells the Vietnam Bridge website that the objects don't appear to be damaged, so they may be the result of a failed satellite launch.

Why add the second sentence? :P  He had it right the first time. Those titanium tanks are hard to damage

This one is one I need to make a page on  This is obviosly different but since it was in the 70's it could still be part of our space program

NASA has many orbs floating out there these days  What happened to this one?

Well since the Navy (who was just across the water from the island) took it into their possession for testing and returned it at some point, I cannot be sure the original ball was in fact returned to the family.
So this leaves it unsolvable accept I can't help but wonder why with everyone hearing the story, who know one came forward that recognized the triangle symbol on the ball.

This article from the time has a little more info for one thing I see people often have the weight wrong. The employee of Bell labs thought it was a tide and current transcriber.
