Title: Maybe the loudest noise that I have ever heard.

Maybe the loudest noise that I have ever heard.

I had my most unusual loud noise experience of my life earlier...

Initially I wondered if it was a crashed object of some sort...

and could imagine it being similar to a crashed aircraft or UFO..

But If it was none of those... It was most probably Thunder..

There was a short storm and I heard and saw about 4 Thunder and Lightening occurrences initially in about 15 to 20 minutes. with another later within the hour.

It was the 1st one that made the huge loud noise.. and much louder than any that I ever recall hearing before..

It may have been that there was a lightening strike from very close by, nearer than id ever experienced before..

they used to say count so many seconds after  one sees lightening to judge how close it may have been..

I thought a few seconds before I had seen a flash..but had not realised it was raining.. This was followed by a huge loud crash like noise....

Unless it was something has crashed by a strike of the lightening...at the same time..

There were another two within 5 to 10 minutes after but not as loud...and another that was much fainter maybe 20 to 30 minutes after..

what ever it was , it was rather a strange & unusual experience.

There has been a short heat wave over the last few days in the UK...

Sound travels around 300 metres per second, so a three seconds interval between lightning and thunder means the lightning was around 1 km away. The closest I witnessed was some months ago, and it was less than a second between lightning and thunder, so it was around 200 metres from me. The sound was amazingly loud, many car alarms were started by the shaking produced.
