I see Jupiter & Venus are putting on a great display in the west of me in the UK tonight 10/03/12 very bright and close to each other. Get outside for a look see. I'm going by stellarium as I was stumped cos I'm used to the sky but this is a great sight.really bright.
Maybe there is a reason?????

so here is the photo of Jupiter & Venus PLUS another anomaly that i never saw in the view finder i took the photo at full zoom on my iphone 4
it kind of looks like a triangular shape and the flash was off so i don't think it's a bug
and the scale looks wrong.
Thoughts?

Hi, I took your attached photo and processed it. I did move the items closer so we can get a better photo here.
Cropped and moved closer together, from the original (http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/deuem/020planetsCropandmoved.png) Processed with Full Range and also moved closer, Sky sent to black (http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/deuem/020planetsCropandmovedFR.png) In this photo the center item came out white with a tinge of yellow. When I get stars, they are usually 3 or 4 rings but in the same color family as this one. But no yellow at all. So, Outside of it being an alien invasion I would think you caught a satellite which just so happened to get in the way and a little sun/moon light hit it at that exact moment. I don't know which way you were facing but there is a hint of light coming in from the entire right side of the photo which is also yellow and it passes almost to the middle of the original. That could be the sun or a lamp near by. You will have to remember. The major colors presented are in the original photo and not added. And it is not a bug... Deuem
Very good deuem, yes the light IS from a street lamp (orange sodium) well done ;)
yes the sattalite sounds like sense to me so i will go with that.
i love the process.
Yea, the process is pretty good at finding light sources. The yellow came right out.
Good luck hunting the sky.
