You can go almost anywhere on the internet and read the same garbage repeated about Russia and Putin. They are supposedly threatening Europe, being expansionist, trying to bring back the Soviet Union and more.
The people who say this are simply repeating the same lies over and over - and it's not surprising why, as threats from jihadists don't sell expensive weapons systems such as the F-35. Profits from those need an advanced enemy such as Russia or China.
The truth is simple. Putin has said he wants a free trade zone, "from Lisbon to Vladivostok" i.e. all of Eurasia. The only practical way to do that is NOT thru masses of tanks invading, Blitzkrieg-style. Such a thing could only be established by a heck of a lot of diplomacy..........and what do you observe about Russia's diplomatic ability growing recently?
But if you still doubt Putin's sincerity about a huge Eurasian trade zone, consider that he must see Russia in the middle, as a vast untapped collection of resources AND becoming the world's greatest TRANSIT nation with pipelines, high speed rail, ports and truck transport. Do you know that Putin has built more great bridges than anyone in Russia's history? Oh, and there's this:

Russia is dominating the Arctic and building all the infrastructure they need for a northern shipping route. Are they thinking way ahead? I think so.
In short, US Russo-phobes are either blind or lying for short term reasons while Putin plays a long game with help from China and its new Silk Road initiative. And if you piece all the details together, the US is headed for isolation, being locked out while a hostile Congress threatens everyone. I also think this outcome may be consistent with Disclosure and Alien opinions that humans need to get away from war.
Most of those that are raising such a stink about Putin and Russia are the same ones that just lost in the general election; just more hot air and bull poop from the far left...

The frightening thing is the emergence of a truly evil alliance of leftist hypocrites with warmongers such as McCain and Graham. Hopefully, Kissinger will bend the controversy back towards sanity.
imagine being stuck in the vice between loyalty to a country with insane leadership or supporting the leader of the opposing country.this is whats forming.
imho.
