Some of you may have noticed that the photos in my threads are now missing.

I get messages telling me my account does not allow 3rd party hosting.

Well that's nice, photobucket HAS allowed 3rd party hosting for the last 6 years with no problem.

They are not the first "free" service that at some point later decides they need to make some money, and usually go 'poof' a short time later.

So thanks photobucket, it's been nice knowin ya.

Well, at least we can take our photos from their site and host them somewhere else, and that's what I'm going to do, like I did with Image Shack before.

Imagine how many forums are going to be affected by this.

PS: it will take some time, but if you upload the images somewhere else we can change the posts to point to the new location, like we did with all the posts from karl 12 some time ago, to change the links from ATS to Pegasus, when ATS stopped allowing it.

That would be nice as I am still steaming about facebook.  >:(

I am using a new site atm, but how long till they do the same thing?

Right now our Coppermine still works and those images are stored on the server directly not in the database...  I did notice that globat no longer offers a free gallary install, but they didn't remove the existing ones

The other option is a cloud... Dan Benkert paod 50.00 for a MediaFire cloud for Pegasus and I have most of the files and videos uploaded. The 50.00 (Thanks Dan :D) covers one terabyte for one year  and even with all the files and videos O have I haven't dented the terabyte yet

What people see when you have an image is this... and it is happening on ebay and amazon listings

I hear they want $400.00 a year to activate the hosting

Ok, who here posts photos, videos, and NOT have a copy?.... ::)
Other than useless information or something I cannot nor will not reproduce, I have the originals of everything backed up!

The problem is not not having a copy, the problem is where to upload the images and then change all posts to point them to the new host.

And that reminds me that I still have many posts to correct. :(

I understand that ArMaP but with a little work it can be done. So all is not lost!

Looking at the database, I only have to check 194 posts.  :(

Edit: You have 141 posts with links to Photobucket, A51Watcher has 262. In all cases, some of those links are from quotes of posts from other people, so not all those posts have images from the respective member, but we do have to check.
