;)  Just a little something I noticed. There is a question asked about the color of water.  From what I saw the one asking the question does not know!  So here is the accepted science on the color of water........... "The color of water varies with the ambient conditions in which that water is present. While relatively small quantities of water appear to be colorless, pure water has a slight blue color that becomes a deeper blue as the thickness of the observed sample increases. The blue hue of water is an intrinsic property and is caused by selective absorption and scattering of white light. Dissolved elements or suspended impurities may give water a different color."  So it is actually blue in its own color!    :o

   This is a wrong answer....

"Nothing "is" any particular colour. Colour is a feature of perception. We see things when light bouncing off them reaches our eyes and our brain interprets this information."

Yes! and that is exactly what we call color!!!!!!!! ::)  lol This is how we perceive our world and color is how we recognize the light being observed as it's reflected from any object.   Hence we have assigned names to the light that is most abundant to our eyes no matter what it's coming from.

  Just some fun! ;D

Exactly, colours have a highly personal factor, as each one of us sees things in slightly different ways (I even see things with a slight red tint from my right eye when compared with my left eye), but the wavelength of reflected light can be used as a way of "measuring" colours.

BINGO!   I suppose we could name light in frequencies, but that would be kind of a drag.  lol  (Isn't that the most wonderful shade of 480 THz to 510 THz sunset light you ever saw. lol) Nope doesn't work!   :o

Yes, it wouldn't sound the same. :)
