One of my coworkers and his daughter got their United States citizenship today.  We're celebrating with cake later.

They fled Iran nine years ago, and after spending two years in Turkey, they were able to come to the United States.  His wife will be getting her citizenship in a few months.  She will also be completing her medical degree in two more years.  She couldn't have done that in Iran.
