As if walking and texting aren't quite distracting enough for you how about an interactive heads-up display?  ;D

Here's how google thinks it will work...

Here is how it will work in reality...

Google Project Glass: 10 Awesome Ways It Could Change Your Entertainment Lifestyle (PHOTOS)
The Huffington Post  |  By Sara Gates

After watching the concept video for Google Project Glass on repeat for the past 24 hours, technophiles have emerged from their bleary-eyed analysis and started breaking down the concept.

Aren't glasses easily breakable? Where would the battery go? How will it protect privacy?

A British man named Tom Scott even went as far as filming his own parody video pointing out some of the prototype's obvious cons -- visibility for one.

But what about the more fantastical ways Google Project Glass could make our lives more entertaining, if the goggles perform at their level best?

The specs could provide access to unlimited music and videos, or provide instant answers to questions users have in the daily lives.

We've compiled a list of 10 conceptual ideas that would be game changers in the entertainment industry.

Maybe Google will take note and incorporate one of the ideas into the Project Glass final design. (Fingers crossed for facial recognition).

Have any ideas for cool ways Google could develop Project Glass for entertainment? Sound off below.

As a friend here just pointed out, it sounds like the "social conformity" from THRIVE...  We will all be tracked and kept in line, with just the info THEY want Us to have...

The spoof was great and probably closer to the truth.

hey, google, why not, theyve been chipping babies for years in prep for this, eh Amaterasu?
Tinnitus, my ass!
Sad video of someone who has no real life, like most of the young folks today who dont really do anything, they just text about it, pathetic.

Try to stay in the present, while not falling back into the past, right? LOL!

Yeah...  I have that "tinnitus" M'self.  And a hospital chipped Me in the hand.  Pretty sure of it.

But I agree.  The guy in the first vid was demonstrating a rather pathetic existence.  The guy in the second one...  Heh.  His was more interesting if not desirable.

Hehehe! I think the first guy is reproducing asexually, and thats why there are so many like him nowadays!
I do like the excitement level of the second guy's life, but Im guessing as the formula progresses his chance of living isnt very high!LOL!
Did you ever get that chip out? I got mine in the navy, and i wouldnt be surprised if theres more than one due to what I did in there....
Mine's under my armpit, so they cant remove it, due to proxomity to my lymph nodes, but it is non active, I can tell you, as I have psionically deactivated it after thirty years of personal suffering, it stopped working on January 15th 2012. Thats the day I took my life back again, and started anew. It is a struggle to bust that damn chip, but it is possible, so keep trying. i found the way to kill it is to learn to meditate deeply, and when in meditation, overload it with so much input it just shuts off.
Unbelievably, I had no idea where it was, until Jan 15th and I actually felt the chip take a shit while meditating in a hotel room in West Palm Beach, Fl, 9:30 pm, room 215 la quinta inn palm lakes blvd.
I will never forget the moment, it felt like a twitch under my right arm, then a cool breeze came into the room and washed the haze away in an instant, and it's been full speed ahead ever since.
I wont give them a chance to chip me again, so life is very cautious these days, and not having any interaction whatsoever with any government entity is the key to avoiding a re-chip.
On that very day, I stopped eating bad food(lifelong), smoking pot(30 years), and drinking scotch(30 years), and committed myself to the future of humanity.I know it sounds corny, but hey, I love corn!

Cheers!

Well, the pot thing...  I quit because I have no money...  [grin]  Most of the articles I have had published were written in the altered state - The End of Entropy, in particular, and that is My "magnum opus."  Never drank much, and eat as well as I can on food stamps.

I will try the meditation thing.  My difficulty is that every time I try to meditate...I fall asleep.  I am unsure just what I am after in meditation...  I often forget appointments merely because I tend to live completely in the Now, I rarely hear commentary in My mind (most People, I am told, kinda talk to Themselves in Their mind - I get pictures and feelings, but no "voice").

And I can "trance out" as I have called it, at will.  I do that when I have My teeth worked on or other surgery when I am not put under.  I refuse painkillers like Novocaine.  (Weird out dentists, I tell You what!)

[shrug]

Will keep on trying, though.

Falling asleep during meditation means you are a calm inner being, yet a chaotic outer one, so as soon as the inner being sees a chance for relaxation, it jumps on it!
Most of my articles Ive written were wtih the aid of scotch or pot,(wink) and they are quite good i think, yet a flair for the different is what Im after now, and my writing has definitely improved(IMO)
since stopping that stuff.
More than anything, i feel a need now instead of a want, to write and put it down on paper, the theories that are popping up in my head. All this means is I have awoke to my true meaning here on Earth, and with friends like you and Zorgon and the gang, its been a lot easier!

Now, as for that 100 year spaceship, hows about we build an android crew, with an organic computing system. Sort of the opposite of 2001 SO where the computer took over the trip from the human, the androids would be controlled by a small tree, or bush.
Living, growing entities are the future of computing, and telemetry for space travel as they have the sacred geometry built right in already. And they consume co, while providing oxygen for any lifeforms onboard(test animals and such) The crew would do tests during the initial flight and then set up a base on Mars for the next flight of humans right behind them, while making sure there werent any surprise when they start building(alien building inspectors), and allowing the trees and bushes to grow and eventually provide o2 for the base when larger. They would grow weird in the low gravity, so it might be a good opportunity to observe nature at work, while providing life support, too!

Have a great day, Am, and congrats once again on the multiple publish!

The entire crew could not be in cryosleep because anything could happen and you would need a skeleton crew to maintain the ship. The movie Pandorum comes to mind...I don't want to give away any spoilers on this movie... It is chilling that's about all I'm going to say.

PLAYSWITHMACHINES

Creepy movie :D

I think we could have robots sufficiently advanced to care for us & the ship.
They would require no air, food or sleep, will never get bored or distracted.
They will never argue, just make the best decision to protect their cargo (humans). They would be our best bet.
Once on Mars, they will be incredibly useful as well, as long as they built with that climate in mind, i remember Asimov's "runaround" and have to laugh ;D
Or you could have a skeleton crew of 'red dwarf' like insomniacs who would make life miserable for any life form that came on board :o

Red Dwarf is priceless, a favorite, and yes, on a ship full of red dwarf regulars, things would go awry fast! LOL!
As far as the cryosleep it really isnt necessary, as it shouldnt be too difficult to have a special crew of reproducing members who have volunteered to go forth and raise the next generation of kids, and their schooling would be provided by experts, and OJT like never before! It would be a very enlightening trip for the children as they would never have seen the Earth, and theyd be the first humans to be born in space, so that alone would be a milestone.Unfortunately, they would have to watch their parents die, leaving them with two less people in their world.

Double edgec sword, eh?

The robots, or androids are coming along fast here on Earth, and right now Im watching Roomba clean my floors like a pro, albeit a pro who doesnt show up drunk and try to run of with my daughter!LOL!

One Step Closer to Telepathy...?.hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Google Gets One Step Closer to Telepathy
With Project Glass Google has moved one step closer to human telepathy with Google Glass, "We think technology should work for you -- to be there when you need it and get out of the way when you don't."

The idea is to create a visual display (with audio) that you can wear at all times -- taking the connected experience with you, everywhere you go. Google is testing the concept as part of their secretive Google
  • Project, where, we assume, telepathy (direct mind-to-mind global communication) is the final goal.

To promote the new concept, Google has produced a short video clip of what it might be like to use a pair of the high-tech glasses, which are designed to keep you on the world wide information highway 24/7.

Needless to say, there has already been some resistance to the idea in the media.

(Big Think ran a review titled "The New 'Google Glassess' Ad: Some Version of Hell," as an example, explaining, "I have nothing against fun gadgets or, for that matter, sensory overstimulation (one of the main reasons to live in a city to begin with), but this video makes me want to curl up on a prayer mat in a Buddhist monastery")

Our point of view is this idea is inevitable -- the whole point of technology should be to free us from mechanical awkwardness and, quoting Google, "to be there when you need it and get out of the way when you don't."

None of this compares, of course, to the full-blown (and mind-blowing numbness) of the presumed extraterrestrial alien information highway called telepathy, but should be recognized as a (very) tiny step forward in that direction. We'll have far more to say about the Telepathic Internet in the future, but for now, I recommend having a look at the video, presented here via YouTube.[/color]

Littleenki

It might take an artificial mind to telepathically connect with a human mind, yet we are nowhere near that.
It seems google is off to save the world, and to control it in the process, and is this how the cia gathers it's info?
That guy in the video looks like a typical phone sucking zombie, and if google wants his information, they can have it!
LOL!
Now if Apple starts to read minds......:O
