Using the bolded words will get you what you got. Never use the ban or banned  words on gpl. They'll give ya the business.

Your two week ban should be about up, unless you are perma banned. Change your IP and your good as new. Clear the cookies and stuff before re-appearing on glp as new.

I am sure what you say is true ,but I did not use those words on GLP nor did John when he asked me to make a post for him. It was done elsewhere. That's what I don't understand, it seemed to me that the post I made was the trigger for the ban ,but that would mean that they were waiting for me to post it. How did they know I was going to post it? I have made a few requests for unban ,no unban yet,just denials of my requests.

Well I just checked to see if I could get on GLP ,at first I was allowed  on the home page , that is until I tried to access John's thread . SOON as I hit the search function, banned !!


I think they are trying to mine the members for money, the wording is right there on the ban page .


Well there is an old saying "You can't suck blood from a turnip", I am sure there is some other reason
I got banned but I guess  I will not get to find that out . If they let me on, I am sure there will be no explanation.

I find that I can get on after a few weeks of not trying  ONE TIME  when I then try to view a second thread I get that banned warning again with the offer to fork over $100.00 to avoid that

After enjoying the fruit of your seemingly endless labor here, Zorgon, I cant fathom why anyone would want to ban you from anything. Just knowing they banned you tells me everything I need to know about that place, cut and dry!

It's really simple...

Its all about ratings and popularity.

The minute you speak up and point out the issues they feel many people will listen to you and that will lose them hit points. In the end it is those hit points that pays the bills because advertisers look you up based on traffic.

My website was always paid out of my own pocket.  In the old days it is true that there were limits especially on bandwidth... you had to pay heavily for bandwidth and storage. But today the costs are down, and any decent server offers unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth.

Our server, Globat, is offering that for $4.44 a month with one domain reg included and free hosting of five domains on one account. I have a link to them on the front page if anyone is looking for a good server that has almost zero downtime. You get even more discount signing up for a two year or longer term

So that means all ad revenue goes straight into pocket and these sites fight over that standing like rabid dogs

GLP has banned any links from ATS... ATS also bans any links from rival or 'taboo' sites

I believe that GLPs banning reasons are purely for financial gain.  A few months back I would visit John's mega thread many times per day to catch up with it (was 100+ pages).  After a a week or two of doing this I was IP banned from the website, I had never posted a single reply though once I was banned I sent them a message about this and they told me the only way to unban was if I signed up as a subscriber.

I googled glp and found a link that basically said they were hacked and their private info was put out on the web so they had to do all this banning as a result . Now while that may be true,I still think the main idea is  money . I was a free member from the beginning of John's thread, in fact he told me about the thread and told me to "come over and join the fun". I posted every once in a while but nothing like what other people did !! I read plenty of things that warranted banning and a fat lip to go along with it .
