Senate backs resolution reaffirming effort to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon

WASHINGTON - The Senate has overwhelmingly approved a resolution that reaffirms U.S. efforts to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon and says containment of a nuclear-capable Iran is not an option.

By a vote of 90-1 early Saturday, the Senate backed the nonbinding measure that specifically states that it should not been interpreted as an authorization for the use of military force or a declaration of war.

Passage of the resolution comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pressed Washington to spell out what would provoke a U.S.-led military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. The Senate acted in the final hours before Congress broke for its weekslong recess.

The measure was introduced months ago by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman. It endorses continued economic and diplomatic pressure on Tehran until it agrees to suspension of its uranium enrichment program in compliance with U.N. Security Council resolutions, co-operates with international inspectors and reaches a permanent agreement that its program is for peaceful purposes.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul, who cast the only "no" vote, had spoken out against the resolution as an excuse for the use of military force.

Senate Votes 90-1 Declaration Of War: "A De-Facto Declaration Of War" Against Iran – Rand Paul

Before It's News – by Live Free or Die Isn't it nice that our Senate 'leaders' have decided upon a "de-facto declaration of war" against Iran, according to Senator Rand Paul. We've been warned over and over again by knowledgeable sources such as the LA Times and Family Security Matters that Iran has sleeper cells thoughout the US just waiting to unleash un-holy Armageddon upon Americans should we launch an attack against them. From the LA Times story linked above:

" Iranian terrorist cells inside the U.S. have weapons, explosives, money and safe houses; they use contacts with Mexican and Latin American drug cartels to smuggle explosives and weapons into the U.S."

"They have very detailed information about sensitive sites such as bridges, railroads, airports, military bases, power plants, nuclear sites, water plants, railway stations," he says.

"If the U.S. or Israel attacked Iran, he says, sleeper cells inside the U.S. would launch suicide bombings and sabotage. Iran would attack Israel and U.S. bases in Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf."

I issue a reminder to anyone in doubt here, that nuclear war WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  This is not to say that we can expect some retribution if it occurs; it will simply not be permitted to occur in the first place.

We have recorded cases of UFOs shutting down nuclear silos.  Said shutdowns can be performed; the use of nuclear weapons and their detonation can be prevented and averted in any number of ways.  It should be remembered that compared to what some ET groups have, our nuclear technology is practically Stone Age by comparison.  So it is extremely vulnerable to non-destructive disruption, and said disruption WILL be employed if it becomes necessary.

So do not fear this.  Conventional war in Iran may occur, although I recently heard of a refusal by Barrack Obama to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu, which I considered encouraging.
