Hello Elvis,

Sorry to bother you here, but, other than 'Possibly' seeing out gassing in some kind of enhanced format, I don't understand what it is we are to be discussing for lack of information or description/ personal thought as to where, what and how we are to analyze this without any input of how this was found.

Maybe a little back history here would help ? ??? LOL it's probably just me, but hey, it's who I am !! ;) :P

Sorry for lack of background etc, but i just came across it on the web and thought it was interesting.
I traced it back and its a real pic from the 17 catalogue.
sometimes its difficult to know what is old hat on here.
But the anomalie looks interesting to me and i hadnt come across it before.

No problem Elvis, just like a bit of info to start the old thinker ticker as to what we could be discussing here.

I do believe this has been discussed before, more than likely JL's area, we have found a few images where there seems to be a sort of "Steam" or "Out Gassing" in a few areas around the Lunar surface.

ArMap and a couple of other's here have the unique ability to recall these images from their vast experience with in the whole Base's on the moon, sure we can get someone to chime in on the topic and what has been discussed thus far. But I do seem to recall this image before.

When I went to the original picture's website, I out lined the area I think we are seeing with in the enhanced version and zoom of that area. Please, correct me if I am wrong.

Area Out lined by Bright Green Boarder Box:

Thanks for the quick response Elvis. Always makes talking about something via the WWW much more easier than trying to guess what needs to be discussed.. ;)

If it was gas on the moon, would it not go straight up? No wind?

I took it to Deuem and no help except the line seem to run righ under it.

Kinda looks like something fell over.

We need a better photo if you want to continue this. A photo from another trip or satalite that is better in pixels.

I don't remember that photo, but to me it looks more like a geological feature.

I will look for more information. :)

ArMaP

No geological features there, at least in that position, almost perpendicular to the ejecta from the crater.

There's a small crater near that area, but a crater wouldn't look like that.

I don't have any idea of what that may be. :)

z, if that pic is the Hi-res 5mb photo for printing from the link, that is the one I worked with. I would like to see a photo that is not B&W and from a differetn angle if possible.

My take on this photo: Optical illusion. Its just a ledge, hence the dark shadow as below:

When the photo is laid down, it's not smoke, vapor, and certainly not in the 'air'...see below...

But of course there are a lot of 'other' things in this photo I see that appear to be 'anomalous'....more later::
