MORSI OVERTHROWN! Egypt Rejects Obama's Muslim Brotherhood Candidate

Anti-Obama Fever Grips Nation

US President Barack Hussein Obama's greatest achievement in 2012 was creating an Islamist Egypt ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood. Make no mistake about it, without Obama giving the Muslim Brotherhood financial support and the backing of the United States, the phony Arab Spring never would have taken hold.

Of course, all this was done to turn the Middle East's largest Muslim country into a Sharia-ruled regime that just happens to sit on the southern border of Israel. Today, the Egyptian people and their army took their country back out of the hands of Barack Hussein Obama. source – NTEB

Egyptians have no problem seeing Obama for the phony that he is...
how come we can't do the same? Hmm....

MORSI OVERTHROWN! Egypt Rejects Obama's Muslim Brotherhood Candidate

On Wednesday, Gen. Abdel Fatah Said Al-Sisi announced a military coup in Egypt.

He said that the Constitution had been suspended, that early elections would take place, and that there would be a "code of ethics" for the media.

He stated that the chief of the Constitutional court would be taking charge during a transitional period before another election.

He said the new government would be "diverse and include all the people," and that the constitution would be revised to reverse changes made by ousted Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi.

Anti-Obama fever grips Egypt as his candidate Mohammed Morsi is ousted by the Egyptian Army in dramatic coup

Al-Sisi said there would be a code of ethics for the media that would "establish values and ethics for the media to follow." He also stated that there would be a committee for reconciliation from leaders who are credible. The armed forces, he said, call on the great Egyptian people with its various groups to continue to have peaceful protests and end the crisis. He also said that the military warned it would take action against anyone moving beyond peaceful protest.

"May Allah preserve Egypt and its people," al-Sisi concluded.

UPDATES: A Morsi aide has said that Morsi has been removed to an undisclosed location.

Dr. Mohammed El-Baradei, a leader of the anti-Morsi opposition, stated that he hopes "all of us come back as reconciled people together. I hope that this 'road map' will be a beginning to continue with the revolution for which the Egyptian people have spent dearly to achieve social justice for every Egyptian man and woman."

CNN reports the sound of gunfire near pro-Morsi demonstrators, adding that Muslim Brotherhood followers had been training with sticks in preparation for violence. The crowd is chanting "victory or martyrdom." The Egyptian military, CNN reports, is 400 to 500 yards down from the pro-Morsi demonstrations.

Just before the military announced the ouster of Morsi, the army sent troops and armored vehicles to militarily sensitive points around the country, including throughout Cairo. Troops are also surrounding rallies by pro-Morsi forces.

Anti-Obama fever sweeps across Egypt today
Travel bans were imposed on Morsi and top figures from his Muslim Brotherhood including its chief Mohammed Badie and his powerful deputy Khairat el-Shater.

Associated Press reports that Egyptian defense leaders have told US officials that there will be no long-term military rule, telling Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsy that a civilian government would be installed shortly.

The Egyptian military has reportedly stated that it will protect US citizens in Egypt. AP also reports that American Councils for International Education in Washington, D.C., announced that it would be evacuating 18 Arabic language program students from Egypt to Morocco thanks to security concerns. The students hail from the Universities of Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas, Maryland, and Michigan State.

President Mohammed Morsi's Twitter account has called the military's announcement a "full coup." Morsi has been quoted as stating that today's events "represent a full coup categorically rejected by all the free men of our nation." CNN reports that Morsi appealed to his supporters to react peacefully to the military action.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that the time frame of the early election will be determined by the interim administration. Christiane Amanpour of CNN says that Egyptian sources inform her it could be nine months to a year before new elections.

The US embassy in Cairo is closed Wednesday and was scheduled to be closed Thursday thanks to July 4, as well as for the weekend, according to CNN.

The Washington Post reports that US embassy personnel in Cairo has ordered mandatory evacuation of all non-essential personnel, stating,

"We will begin departures immediately, with the expectation that all evacuees will have left for the States by this weekend."

Departures are mandatory, not voluntary. It is not yet clear, according to the Associated Press, whether an evacuation operation would be necessary.

All Muslim Brotherhood television channels in Egypt have now gone off the air, according to UPI. Al-Ahram reports that Al-Hafez and Al-Nas both went off the air immediately after al-Sisi's speech.

Reuters reports that the head of the constitutional court will be sworn in tomorrow as interim head of state in Egypt.

The United States has remained silent on the military action thus far, but the State Department charted an enigmatic course earlier on Wednesday, with spokeswoman Jen Psaki stating,

"We think that all sides need to engage with each other and need to listen to the voices of the Egyptian people, and what they are calling for, and peacefully protesting about, and that's a message we've conveyed at all levels to all sides."

So the Egyptian Military is in now in control.
However, who is really in control now?

Operation Bright Star

Joint Exercise and Training
1980 - 2013

QuoteOperation Bright Star is a series of biennial combined and joint training exercises led by American and Egyptian forces in Egypt. These exercises began in 1980, rooted in the Camp David Accords. After its signing, the military forces of Egypt and the United States agreed to conduct coalition training in Egypt.

They are designed to strengthen ties between the Egyptian and the U.S. United States Central Command and demonstrate and enhance the ability of the Americans to reinforce their allies in the Middle East in the event of war. [color]

QuoteDespite current political instability, the Bright Star exercises will take place according to schedule, announced military spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali.

QuoteIn addition to large amounts of annual U.S. military assistance, Egypt benefits from certain aid provisions that are available to only a few other countries. Since 2000, Egypt's FMF funds have been deposited in an interest bearing account in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and have remained there until they are obligated. By law (P.L. 106-280), Congress must be notified if any of the interest accrued in this account is obligated. ... Cash flow financing allows Egypt to negotiate major arms purchases with U.S. defense suppliers.

Although the law itself allows for strict congressional and Defense Department oversight concerning Egypt's use of the account -- Congress must approve every individual weapons purchase and has rejected Egyptian requests in the past -- the Egyptian military still has a financially appreciating fund that it can spend on state-of-the-art American-produced weaponry.

Egypt army opens fire on pro-Morsi protesters - Middle East - Al Jazeera English

5 July 2013 18:38
At least three supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi were killed by gunfire as a crowd of several hundred tried to march towards the military barracks in Cairo where he is believed to be held.??Al Jazeera's Matthew Cassel, reporting from near the military barracks, said several dozen people were also injured by shotgun pellets fired by the army.

"One protester broke away from the rally to stick a pro-Morsi poster on the barbed-wire around the barracks. He was shot in the head with birdshot," he said.

Security forces were cordoning the Republican Guard barracks but it was not immediately clear who had opened fire. An army spokesman denied that troops opened fire on supporters, saying that soldiers were using only blank rounds and teargas.

It was unclear whether security forces other than the army were present.

The interior ministry also denied that people were killed in the clashes.

"And where Congress is not willing to act,
we're going to go ahead and do it ourselves."

Obama Bypasses Congress, Gives $1.5 Billion to Muslim Brotherhood

QuoteCongress has restricted and, in fact, halted military aid to Egypt until and "unless the State Department certifies that Egypt is making progress on basic freedoms and human rights."

After all, Christians and other practitioners of non-Islamic religions have had a tough go of it there. And of course, many Egyptian officials harbor such hatred toward the U.S. that one of the candidates for the Egyptian presidency has openly referred to America as the "infidel country" in media interviews.

In 2011, the U.S. gave over $1.3 billion in military aid to the Egyptian government. According to the Congressional Research Service, 30 percent of the aid package to Egypt is typically dedicated to the development of new weapons systems.

Much of the country's military hardware is left over from President Gamal Abdel Nasser's leadership of Egypt, in the 1950s and 1960s, when the country received extensive military aid from the Soviet Union.

Egypt also receives "hundreds of millions of dollars" a year in Excess Defense Articles, or military hardware that the U.S. no longer needs. In 2008, the U.S. sent 300 "excess" Chaparral Missiles to the Egyptian military; in 2006, it sent two Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar systems and a missile transporter.

Two export-only versions of the MIM-72 were also built, the MIM-72H which is an export version of the MIM-72F, and the MIM-72J, a MIM-72G with a downgraded guidance and control section.

The missile cost approximately $80,000 and M48 fire units $1.5 million.

All units removed from U.S. military service by 1997.
...
The U.S. doesn't just give the Egyptian military its obsolete weapons -- it helps the country produce new weapons as well.
...
The M1A1 Abrams Tank (which has been replaced by the next-generation M1A2 in America's armored corps) is assembled and partly produced in Cairo, with the help of U.S. personnel and contractors.

Congress has restricted and, in fact, halted military aid to Egypt until and "unless the State Department certifies that Egypt is making progress on basic freedoms and human rights."

However,

QuotePresident Obama will "resume funding for Egypt's military, despite Congressional restrictions and objections from human rights and democracy advocates."

Who knows; perhaps the Obama administration can also circumvent Congress and give the Iranians some nuclear materials or give Hamas some advanced weaponry?
source

I know both ideas sound crazy, but they're no crazier than giving $1.5 billion in military aid to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Morsi ousted: LIVE UPDATES — RT News

Friday, July 5
President Mohamed Morsi was removed from office and detained by the Egyptian military, who announced the constitution is suspended and new presidential elections will be held. Mass celebrations erupted across the country following the news.

18:40 GMT: Egypt's chief prosecutor has ordered the release of two leading Brotherhood figures, who were arrested on Thursday, MENA news agency reports. The men are Saad El-Katatni, head of the Brotherhood's political wing and former parliament speaker, and Rashad al-Bayoumi, a deputy leader in the movement. They will, however, remain under investigation on charges of inciting violence.

18:00 GMT: Reports of clashes and gunfire in the Tahrir Square area are intensifying as protesters have been making their way across the 6th October bridge towards the square.

17:20 GMT: Pro-Morsi crowds are heading to Tahrir Square, with some unconfirmed reports of clashes near Tahrir emerging. Anti-Morsi protesters had previously occupied the square. ??Pro-Morsi protesters have block road in front of the state TV building.

16:30 GMT: Badie is speaking of his pride in Morsi's leadership and the strength of the Brotherhood. ??

Military helicopters were flying very low overhead as he declared "our bare chests are stronger than bullets," while instructing the army not to "shoot their fellow citizens".

Badie has vowed to continue the protests and will not leave Egypt's squares until President Morsi is restored to full power "otherwise its our lives." He has said he is ready to reach an understanding with the army providing — and only after — they meet this request.

"We will not leave Egypt and we shall not sell the blood of our martyrs!" he said.

"Demonstrators are stronger than tanks!"?

16:20 GMT: The Muslim Brotherhood's Supreme Leader, Mohammed Badie, is to speak at a pro-Morsi rally shortly. He was freed from detention on Thursday, according to some reports.

16:00 GMT: The Muslim brotherhood announced that it would not cooperate with Egypt's "raped" government, saying that it calls on its allies to do the same. Issam al-Aryani made the comments in front of a crowd in Cairo. He also told supporters to continue protesting and "stay in the squares," according to Al Arabiya.

15:45 GMT: Egyptian armed forces declared on Friday that they would not permit acts of revenge between rival factions to take place ahead of further rallies planned by Morsi supporters. The announcement also forbade assaults of party offices and public properties.

The armed forces advised against "falling into an endless circle of revenge," on Facebook, saying it was eager to steer clear of any arbitrary measures against a faction or political movement.

15:10 GMT: The interim head of state, Adly Mansour, has dissolved the Shura, the upper-house of Egypt's Islamist-led Parliament and appointed a new head of intelligence. Only the Shura remained after the lower house was dissolved by military-led authorities a year ago. The Shura does not usually legislate but had taken up the role following the dissolution.

General Mohammed al-Tahami is now chief of operations, replacing Morsi-appointed Mohamed Raafat Shehata, according to state TV, which reported the constitutional decree.

13:25 GMT: The director of Al Jazeera's Egypt service has been set free.

12:40 GMT: Morsi supporters have been attempting to break into a police building in the capital, according to local press. His backers flocked to the center of Cairo, with several activists heading for the University of Cairo as well as the headquarters of the presidential guard. Thousands have gathered at Rabaa Adaweya mosque, displaying visible upset at the police.

12:30 GMT: Egypt's newly reinstated prosecutor general has resigned. Abdel-Maguid Mahmoud, who was reinstated after Morsi's overthrow released a statement saying his actions were necessary to "avoid the embarrassment of making judicial decisions against those who removed me from office."

On Thursday, Egyptian police arrested Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohammed Badie, according to AFP, "at the request of the prosecution for inciting the killing of protesters," an official told the agency.

Authorities have been rounding up group members, with a judicial source commenting that the prosecution would begin questioning members on Monday for "insulting the judiciary."

12:10 GMT: Morsi's supporters have gathered on the streets of Cairo. Protesters are assembling in the Nasr city district according to RT's Paula Slier, with some 100 000 pro-Morsi protestors surrounding the outside of Raba al Adawia mosque.

12:00 GMT: Egypt's army has stated that a state of emergency is not in  place for either Suez or South Sinai provinces, contrary to earlier reports. However, the army in Sinai is "on alert."

11:45 GMT: Egypt has been suspended from the African Union (AU) following the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi, according to a senior official.

"As mandated by the relevant AU instruments, the African Union Peace and Security Council decides to suspend the participation of Egypt in AU activities until the restoration of constitutional order," Secretary of the Peace and Security Council told Reuters following a meeting.

Suspension is considered the standard response to any interruption of constitutional rule by one of the AU's member states. In March the AU suspended the Central African Republic after its government was ousted by rebels. It has also treated Madagascar and Mali in a similar fashion. However, Mali's suspension was later lifted.

11:30 GMT: Egypt's temporary president, Adly Mansour, has issued a decree appointing a constitutional adviser and a political adviser. Judge Aly Aoud Saleh is to take up the first role and Judge Mostafa Hegazy the second, according to Ahram online.

11:15 GMT: Egypt's army announced a state of emergency in both South Sinai and Suez after an airport in El Arish was attacked by armed Islamist gunmen on Friday.

The assailants opened fire on three military checkpoints outside the airport, aiming rocket-propelled grenades at the high-security areas. El Arish airport is close to the border with the Gaza Strip and Israel.

Local newspaper Al-Ahram reported that the "state of readiness" had been elevated to its highest level in the provinces. The attack marked the latest in a series of security problems in the region, two days after the overthrow of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi. It remains unclear whether the two were related.

08:40 GMT: Egypt has closed its Rafah crossing on the Egypt-Gaza border until "further notice," Al Jazeera reported. Earlier, Islamist militants carried out multiple attacks on security forces in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, including rocket fire near a police station in Rafah, which killed one soldier and wounded two others.

01:45 GMT: At least one Egyptian Army soldier has been killed when Islamist gunmen launched four coordinated attacks on El Arish airport and three military checkpoints in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, state television reported.

The attackers reportedly fired rocket-propelled grenades at the army checkpoints outside the airport, which is close to the border with the Gaza Strip and Israel.

It was not immediately clear whether this latest attack in Egypt's troubled region was in response to President Morsi's ouster by the military on Wednesday.

According to reports, the commander-in-chief is deploying a riot-control unit from Fort Hood to Egypt to help the Islamofascist regime there repel its own citizens protesting increasing human-rights violations.

Egyptians Hate Obama

Posted by Dave Jolly

President Barack Obama gave US support in the over throw of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.  Before the democratic elections could be held last year in Egypt, Obama through his support behind the radical Islamic terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood.  Mohamed Morsi was elected president of Egypt and was sworn into office on June 30, 2012.

(courtesy: mediaite.com)

QuotePresident Obama continued to offer tons of support to Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood.  With Obama's support, Morsi launched an all-out war against Egypt's Coptic Christians.  Morsi announced that he intended to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate and Obama continued to support him with hundreds of millions of dollars and military aid against the will of Congress.

Morsi and his cabinet were seen on live television saying that the US was just as much an enemy as was Israel and that they needed to fight against us, and yet Obama continued to support him.  According to the US Constitution, that support is defined as treason, but sadly our Congress is too gutless to do anything about it.

On July 4, 2013, Mohamed Morsi was ousted from office after he failed to comply with certain requirements placed upon him by the Egyptian military.  Morsi may have won the election a year earlier, but after his ouster, it seems that a majority of the Egyptian people were celebrating.  Their tyrannical president was gone and they saw new hope.

Egyptian coup uncovers anti-Obama sentiment

(courtesy: theblaze.com)

QuoteAmid the rampant celebration throughout Egypt, were anti-Obama posters and banners.

America certainly has popularity problems – despite spending billions of dollars – among the nations in the Middle East and north Africa, but it took Wednesday's uprising in Egypt, in which a Muslim Brotherhood-linked president apparently was taken down, to reveal the full extent of dislike of America's president, Barack Obama.

"Wake Up America Obama backs Up a Fascist Regime in Egypt," declared one banner.

"Obama Supports Terrorism," said another.

And another stated,

"Obama you jerk. Muslim Brotherhoods are killing the Egyptians so how come they can guarantee you the security of Israel. Hey Obama, your deal with the Muslim Brotherhood was unsuccessful. Obama you idiot. Keep in mind that Egypt is not Muslim brotherhoods and if you don't believe that go and see what's happening in Tahrir Square."

QuoteThe people of Egypt are obviously more astute than millions of Americans.  They see Barack Obama for what he is and for what he does.  They knew first hand that Obama supported terrorism and radical Islamists.  They saw firsthand the human rights violations carried out by the people that Obama supported.

I wonder what the Egyptian people and military would do if Obama were to visit Egypt now?  Would they welcome him with open arms or would they go after him to charge him with crimes against their people for his support of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood?

I just wish the American people would see Obama for what he is like the Egyptian people see him.  I wonder how long he would last in office.  Would the people demand impeachment or arrest for crimes against the people of Egypt and the US?  We can only hope that what happened to Obama's buddy Morsi is an omen for what's in store for Obama and his future.
