Bigfoot is legendary in the Pacific Northwest, but he has also taken a liking to Florida over the past century.

At least according to a project by Josh Stevens, who mapped out every Bigfoot sighting

The Pennsylvania State University doctoral candidate admits that the rise in 'Squatch sightings since the 1970s could have had more to do with the release of Bigfoot B-movies at the time, but he says the distinct regions where sightings occur are interesting.

"Right away, you can see that sightings are not evenly distributed," Stevens writes on his website.

"There are distinct regions where sightings are incredibly common, despite a very sparse population. On the other hand, in some of the most densely populated areas, Sasquatch sightings are exceedingly rare. The terrain and habitat likely play a major role in the distribution of reports."

He mapped out 3,313 data points showing sightings across the U.S. The Ohio River Valley, central Florida and the West Coast appear to be the big guy's favorite hangouts.

Of course, Stevens doesn't know if there's an ape-like creature traipsing around our wilderness, but he said the fact that Jane Goodall believed in Bigfoot is "at least worth putting on the map."

though many researchers claim her data is bogus. In any case, Stevens' research will only embolden the search, as now Bigfoot hunters know exactly where to look.

well if there are maps of all the living organisms.then one could figure out what the primary food source is.since some call them skunk apes.maybe they prefer to eat skunks.

Notice on that bigfoot sighting map all the pretty colors are around water. The more water in the area the more concentrated the sightings reports. Florida is a swamp and bigfoot reports are crazy there just as they are in the northwest where its wet most the year.

I've noticed a lot of phenomena happens in wet areas like ufo, bigfoot and other bizzare happenings.

Aliens and Bigfoots need water to drink too... that is one common factor of life in the universe

However it may be more likely that Dimensional Portals need to be near water to open...

I think most of these phenomena are related to interdimensional portals... like the natural stargates we talked about and Robert Bigelow had on that ranch

It is likely many sightings of Bigfoot are merely looking into his world through a brief opening.

It would explain;
a) why we see trails of prints that start nowhere and end nowhere
b) why we find no scat or bodies
c) why we see brief glimpses only

We are looking through a riff into his world. I bet if we shot one the body would not be found here

Just my opinion... but the same thing applies to Nessie and other similar sightings.  The portals are open only brief minutes and then close. It would require a phenomenal amount of chance that one gets trapped here. The foot prints left though would indicate that the brief doorway does allow physical contact between the worlds

We have thousands of myths legends and even storied in the religious texts of these portals. The Qu'ran even calls it a set of twin gates...

I think we need to go back to the Star Gate work and clean it up with a more detailed and focus search.  I may make that my first project when I revamp the website

That stargate water portal thing seems to be accurate. Water plays a big part for strange phenomena. Alot of water is locked in underground aquifers and reports of bigfoot tell how the beastie walks into the ground and goes poof.

In the missing 411 books by david paulides he shows all the missing people dissapeared by water or were found in water/swamp.

I just finished the george knapp hunt for the skinwalker book and wonder if that location has an undeground aquifer or table water. Water, mist, or river/creeks have all shared in the stories.

I firmly believe bigfoot is not from here and comes and goes like the wind.
