Hole On Mars?

I did a search on this site but could find no Hole On Mars mentioned here that resembled this one.

Still, many of the photos presented look too good to be true ( but I can hope!).

This one struck Me immediately.  VERY difficult to see "natural forces" explaning it.

First problem is that it is using Google Mars

Second problem is it is using google elevation tool

What we need is the original image that Google mars used to generate their distorted views


I think it is this one but maybe ArMap can find it

natural sink holes are generally circular

Yes, but the "hole" is not the one from the images you posted, this one is on the North pole, the ones you posted are not.

And I don't think it's a hole either, it looks more like ice-covered crater or something like that.

That white area looks more like light to me. Out on a Deuem limb, it reminds me of a tunnel cut into that hillside and has a huge glass sectioned door with different colors. I called it the "Mars Hatch"
It would be in the open position and that is why we see it almost round.

Do you know of any other photos of this area taken later [not that day] that still show the white.

Nice pic, ArMaP.  That triangular section within the crater is infill from the collapsing wall.  A pretty common feature as craters (of all kinds) age and degrade.
