Thanks Pim! I was looking at those but have never used one and was looking some recommendations. Once I have my cash and a good direction on a model I will be looking for a good used one. I have already seen some good deals on EBay.

don't know wherer you are but around here there are several astronomy clubs where  you can go and check out their stuff and ask questions
also sky and telescope (dot com) do good info on stuff..might be a good place to look at

Thanks for the tip on the clubs and site Sky Otter.

Elvis I can't wait to get telescope and get some better video than what I have shared with my camera. I'm guessing 3 moths to set aside the money. As long as the Wife has her vacation first. If I show up with a new toy and no Vacation is paid for I would not be around for long.  ::)

I am waiting for my magnification lens to show up in the mail. I also need to find some better filters than what I currently have to make the moon even viewable and not so bright. The videos I have look pink due the filters I have.

Hey LS1, check out the bill Bryson vids on YouTube, he seems to have tips and advice regarding setup and stuff. He gets almost as close as jlw, and in colour too. ;)

Woot woot!
Just picked up my telescope! I will try to post pics later this weekend if I can get around to it. I ended up getting a Celestron C8 with Skybright coating. It is missing the eyepiece, tripod, and equatorial plate. Hopefully I will be able to get the eyepiece from my sons scope to work on here. Hope to be getting familiar with this and sharing some clear footage once I have all the parts. ;D
