Obama Vows to 'Fight ISIS

Just caught the end of what seemed like a LIVE speech by Obama to continue with Air attacks and to fight ISIS.. and dealing with the Middle East issues and may send in troops...

Other countries seem to be backing him up for aiding the US with more Air Strikes..

                   ------------------------------

President Barack Obama delivers a prime-time speech on Wednesday to lay out his plan for "degrading and ultimately destroying the terrorist group" known as the Islamic State, which has left a trail of carnage as it pushed out of Syria and across Iraq.

The legacy-defining address will begin at 9 p.m.ET and is expected to run about 15 minutes. (Tune in at 8:45 p.mET. for live coverage of the speech, anchored by Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric and featuring Yahoo News Chief Investigative Correspondent Michael Isikoff, National Political Columnist Matt Bai and Yahoo News and Finance Anchor  Bianna Golodryga.) Obama is expected to deliver a progress report of sorts on the more than 150 U.S. airstrikes against IS since early August, a campaign that has checked the group's fearsome advance into Kurdish territory and towards Baghdad.

He will also detail his efforts to rally a coalition of Western and Muslim nations behind military action against IS, as well as his proposals for shoring up Syrian rebels from factions less extreme than IS but as dedicated to strongman Bashar Assad's ouster.

The escalation puts the president elected to pull America from its painful overseas military entanglements, notably the Iraq War, in the position of plunging the United States into a new Middle East conflict that could outlast his presidency and cost untold amounts of American blood and treasure.

Obama Vows to 'Fight ISIS' by Arming ISIS

Infowars reporter Joe Biggs is at the 9/11 memorial site in New York City on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. He breaks down how President Barack Obama is set to announce his plan to combat ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria by arming so-called "moderate" Syrian rebels despite the fact that such militants have openly aligned themselves with Islamic State fighters

You just about beat me to this post Astro.

It's 3am over here, and that sure looked like a live speech.

The anniversary of 9/11 and they commemorate by announcing they'll now be bombing Syia.

Sickening.

Hi Sinny,

I was not sure when I saw his speech if it was LIVE or a recording that shown it as appearing Live..

or if it had been pre announced or if he had done it on the spur of the moment...

I think it had been expected ....

But I agree with you....using 9/11 as a date to announce it....to what may be the continuation of the despair in the Middle East as Alex Jones has talked about in terms of what they have planned..

Sickening to see other countries also backing the US....Australia and France are two that have recently said that the would !

What radical group will they empower this time to go fight them? Perhaps a revival of the Alqaeda group? This interview puts this situation into a bit of different light. What a mess Obama is making over there. This is all according to the original plans of the PNAC re: the hundred years war.

Sinny

Well they announce they'll be funding the Kurds in Iraq.

Syria is a stranger one, they just said they'll be funding the 'opposition'.

But the main crux was that they openly stated they will be striing via the Air Force.

Now to tune into our Russian News sources to see what they might do next...

ISIS are a branch/splinter from Al-CIA-da.

This is the problem with USA foreign policy.

Saddam Hussein.  Supported by the West in war with Iran.  Result?  War with the West.  :)

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency program to arm and finance the Afghan mujahideen prior to and during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1989. The program leaned heavily towards supporting militant Islamic groups that were favored by neighboring Pakistan....

....critics of U.S. foreign policy consider Operation Cyclone to be substantially responsible for setting in motion the events that led to the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001,

Next the USA, Britain and France support militant groups in Syria and we get ISIS!!!

SO, now we will opt to back other militant Islamic groups to fight ISIS?  :o  ::)

Are we starting to see a pattern yet?

A Portuguese military analyst said that the idea will only work with troops on the ground, air strikes would not be enough.

This is probably one of the most interesting videos that I have seen to date.  Sickening to me but very informative.

 ::) Here comes the stupid...

QuoteThe Pentagon has announced that it expects to train 5,000 Syrian rebels per year as part of President Obama's new campaign to battle Islamic State militants.

Details of the administration's $500 million plan to train and equip Syrian rebels to fight the Islamic State began to surface Friday when Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby outlined the goals that U.S. military planners expected to achieve.

That goal includes training and equipping the Syrian rebels in a foreign country over the course of about a year, according to Rear Adm. Kirby.

Mr. Obama had long resisted called to arm and train the rebels, pro-U.S. moderates who had been battling the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, belittling their ability to take on the government and to control the most extremist elements of the rebel coalition.

The U.S. military has already located a partner nation willing to host the training force, Rear Adm. Kirby said. Saudi Arabia has already indicated that it would play a key component in the Obama administration's training plan, he said.

"We think that, now that we've got a partner in the region to help us with the training, is that we could train more than 5,000 fighters over the course of one year," he said. "Now, that would be in phases. It would not be all at once. The training itself would not take a full year, but we think that we could get more than 5,000 done in one year."

LMAO... "We THINK that..." so we are going to spend $500M on a whim that this might hold true? Ok let's look at the trainees...

QuoteSyrian rebels and jihadists from the Islamic State have agreed a non-aggression pact for the first time in a suburb of the capital Damascus, a monitoring group said on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the ceasefire deal was agreed between IS and moderate and Islamist rebels in Hajar al-Aswad, south of the capital.

Under the deal, "the two parties will respect a truce until a final solution is found and they promise not to attack each other because they consider the principal enemy to be the Nussayri regime."

Here's an idea... why not QUIT giving them money and weapons. Maybe they will actually run out of ammo and money at some point and NOT be an immense threat to everything. Even if they train and arm 5000 new rebels, are they going to stand a chance against 20+thousand well armed and funded fighters with American hardware and training already? It's like trying to put out a bond fire with gasoline.

the question remains who will be on what side and how they will fight this one

The West have Pretty much declared war on Russia already by this point.

Putin has been brilliant so far, he's not bit the bait.

I watched his speech today, and he was like:

"They are surrounding us with their bases, sending NATO to our door step, destabalising and attacking our Allies, and threatened us with further sanctions if we do not get a handle on the situation in Ukraine... We have now almost completed a cease fire in the Urkraine, and yet they have just slapped up with the largest sanctions yet... Damned if we do, damned if we don't".

Russia realises the worlds eyes are on the situation, and they are determined NOT to be the one's seen as instigating what could potentially be WW3.

Not a big fan of Alex Jones but I think he nailed it when he says we will be sold the war on ISIS to eliminate the remaining rebels opposed to ISIS and told that those rebels were ISIS.
