Mystery radio signals coming from a sun-like star baffle scientists

To we Earth-bound humans, a strange radio signal from "out there" generates considerable interest, much because supposedly we do not know what is actually "out there"!! This is an article from the Daily Mail that discusses one such signal source coming in from a star 95 light years away. It is interesting that Russia also detected this signal a year ago, but apparently didn't make the discovery public! ??

* The signals seem to be coming from a sun-like star known as HD 164595
* The star is 95 light years away and may have undiscovered planets in orbit
* Scientists say signals may simply be the result of a natural phenomenon
* One possibility is 'microlensing' in which the star's gravity focuses signals coming from farther away

Astronomers have also asked Seti (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) to take a closer look at whether they could be a message from ET.  Two SETI research groups will track HD 164595 tonight using the Allen Telescope Array (pictured) in northern California and the Boquete Optical SETI Observatory in Panama.

According to a report by Paul Gilster at Centauri Dreams, the signal was first detected on May 15 last year by the RATAN-600 radio telescope in Zelenchukskaya.

'No one is claiming that this is the work of an extraterrestrial civilisation, but it is certainly worth further study,' writes Gilster.

Contacted?  Been there, done that many eons ago.

IMO, we are interacting with "aliens" on a regular basis...we, humans, are awakening to this reality with the passing of each day.

I suppose one could venture to Mt. Shasta, knock, and be greeted by the Telosians, reportedly one of many inner-world societies of "friendlies"!
