QuoteIt might be awhile before we actually put a human on Mars, but Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (HI-SEAS) is exploring the challenges with a four-month-long simulated Mars Mission.

Each week, astronaut Kate Greene blogs about different aspects of the simulated mission, giving viewers a glimpse into the life of an astronaut and what a trip to Mars might actually entail, especially when it comes to feeding astronauts. The simulation is taking place on the Big Island of Hawaii, where Greene and five other crewmates live inside of the Mauna Loa volcano.

So it is possible to fake a Space mission? ;D

::) Tsk,tsk,tsk...there is a big difference between a simulation used to test techniques and protocols versus creating a fake, since the fakery involves deceit and passing it off as genuine, wheras the simulationis a test and 99.999% is publicly known as a simulation, not reality...

::) ::) ::)

I know this OP is from 2013  8) but considering the overwhelming amount of bull poop and fake news flying around these days, the distinction needs to be made between simulated and outright crap  8)
