The Grid is our Nation's Weakest Link. Cyber attacks, sabotage, solar coronal mass ejections (CME), and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from the high-altitude detonation of a nuclear weapon pose severe threats to our electric power grid. Join us at the 2018 Power Grid Defense Symposium (August 9-12) to learn about the destructive threats to our power grid, consequences, emergency management responses, and activities to prepare and secure our power grid. Network with local and national subject matter experts and EMA personnel. This is a 3.5 days events. The first 3 days (Thursday - Saturdays) are scheduled programming. The 4th day is a half day advocacy workshop.

It is still not too late to register for our Symposium and our Thursday Dinner. Since we are not offering lunch on Saturday in order to keep your registration fee low, Saturday's event ticket can be purchased at the door. All other tickets should be purchased online by 8 am Tuesday, August 7, or made previous arrangement with Yohon Lo. Email: "yohon@HAL5.org". There will only be a handful of tickets reserved at the door, but do not count on those.

Symposium Special Dinner and Networking Event

A proposal to establish a U.S. Space Force as an independent military service on an equal footing with the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and Marine Corps is currently being debated in Congress. Classical deterrence theory that prevented the bipolar Cold War from escalating into a thermonuclear holocaust may well fail in the emerging new multi-polar security environment where rogue nations rely increasingly on weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles for blackmail and war fighting.
