UFO Symposiums and how stupid they are

I used this title to make it clear that I do NOT support these UFO Symposiums...

I have always said that these thing are just money making schemes that never reveal ANYTHING new or actual evidense and is just the same old "Whistleblowers" giving the same old speeches to the ooo's and ahhhs of the cult following...

But last night Thor called me and said he might be in Vegas for a UFO con but couldn't remember the name

So I lookes and the only one I see is the UFOMega Con in Laughlin, NV

So I looked up the name of who was attending and saw THIS (seems others asked the same question :P )

UFO Mega Co Laughlin, NV, March 24th 2019

QuoteHello UFO MEGA CON Followers!

I've been getting calls asking "who are your speakers, I don't recognize most of them." AND YOU WON'T. Read on to find out WHY...

Bob Brown and Lorien Fenton came together to produce UFO MEGA CON based on 3 "principles". They are:

NO SPEAKER IS INVITED UNLESS THEY HAVE NEW INFORMATION:  As a ticket holder you know, most of the "career" UFOlogy speakers talk about the same thing over-and-over and over again; and you see them year after year at the same events. UFO MEGA CON's criteria to be a speaker is to present new information – which, in turn, brings you new and amazing presenters you never knew about!

Other producers want you to think you have to see the "most popular" speakers to get the latest information. But, as you probably realize by now, this is a fallacy. The bottom line, other conferences will not take chances on new, never heard (or hardly heard) before speakers – which leads to number 2.

UFO MEGA CON IS NOT OUR LIVELIHOOD:  Bob works part time and Lorien has her own full time business. They have dedicated themselves to bring new and powerful information to the community – that is how they measure success – not by putting a pay check in their pocket. If the event makes a profit, that profit will stay in the bank to support next year's conference.
HAS TO BE AFFORDABLE:  Do the math! You'll see that you are getting two meals, a banquet dinner, all the special evening events, and full days of speakers for less than any other conference being advertised today. Period. (No add on workshop fees!) And out hotel prices are the lowest around.

So, Trust we when we say – BE HAPPY YOU DON'T KNOW WHO MOST OF OUR SPEAKERS ARE! You will be amazed and learn something new and exciting. You'll leave the conference wondering how other conferences got to the point of passing off people who have never seen a UFO or had Alien contact as "experts" in the field... could it be that they have another agenda besides getting to the TRUTH?

Thanks for reading!

Would have liked to attend this one though.

QuoteSymposium on Unidentified Flying Objects -Committee on Science and Astronautics - US House of Representatives,1968.

Quote"Today the House Committee on Science and Astronautics conducts a very special session, a symposium on the subject of unidentified flying objects; the name of which is a reminder to us of our ignorance on this subject and a challenge to acquire more knowledge thereof. We approach the question of unidentified flying objects as purely a scientific problem, one of unanswered questions. Certainly the rigid and exacting discipline of science should be marshaled to explore the nature of phenomena which reliable citizens continue to report"

The 1978 United Nations symposium on UFOs calling for international investigations into the subject is also a relevant one and documents have also emerged deducting how the British government tried to stop it.

QuoteUK tried to stop worldwide UFO Investigation

The file includes many pages detailing the British government's attempt in 1978 to derail the country of Grenada's plan to convince the United Nations to form a special UFO study committee. The reason these documents resonated so strongly with me is because I'm the one who produced Grenada's UFO presentation at the U.N. all those years ago.

Seems NASA weren't too keen on it either.

Cheers!

For six days though, three hundred odd bucks isn't bad; although that would probably be close to $500 AUD.  Then again, I could buy almost as much cow manure for that price at plant nurseries over here, as they would likely be serving up during said event, and I wouldn't need to worry about a plane ticket, either. :P

I'm still waiting to see something relating to UFOs, which hasn't later been proven as complete BS.

Well if you're talking about some of the official government explanations for specific UFO incidents then I agree - plenty of bullshit there if you need some more. :)

What's always got me is why more people don't treat the UFO subject seriously (like the world's governments do) - granted I don't think anyone really wants 'abductions' to be true but I think it's been pretty well established that Unidentified Flying Objects exist in objective reality (with roughly a 20% unexplained rate) and their identity remains a complete mystery.

Quote..there exists credible government documentary evidence, credible radar/visual evidence, credible electromagnetic interference evidence, credible ground trace evidence and credible (circumstantial) evidence in the form of sworn eyewitness testimony from 1000s of credible individuals.

Don't know if it's conditioned apathy, willful ignorance or pathological denial (or all three) but I'd also speculate that a great deal of money has been spent over the years indoctrinating the general public with the idea that the subject is just "a silly nonsense".
