more than you want to know
bwhahahahahahah

I'm sitting down for today so decided to share some of my most beautiful "resort ' pics with you all.
I call our residence 'the resort' because some folks pay big bucks for the serenity and beauty we have here

been in squirrel mode early this year..storing stuff for the winter.
doesn't matter how I try to space  harvesting of veggies, mother nature likes to laugh and have everything come on at the same time..
so I have been gratefully busy with the bounty
this was the front flower bed last year and only the second year for veggies

june 1

and today

dug the potatoes

the other evening  planted 7 pounds got about 70 for harvest and the extra trees from the squirrel planters

it got to join my mini tree farm.. all to be planted yet..a couple oaks but mostly nut trees..black walnut and butternut

cleaned three nice cabbage and got 8 quarts of sauerkraut fermenting..very easy method if any one is interested
still have 6 savoy cabbage waiting..hubby is going to make kimchee and I will attempt halupkie for the freezer

freezer jam is done.. 9 jars of blackberry and 21 of elderberry
tons of different pickles made..bread & butter, dill, sweet, and crock ....and more to come..kinda over planted
this is only round one  in pickle year

view of cukes on fence from porch side

garlic and onions pulled and cleaned
garlic was dissappointing because of all the rain the center stems did not dry and the garlic was starting to rot form the center.. had to
pull each one apart and save the good stuff..sigh
here garlic drying on the floor of the termite room..yeah we found termites in the old part of the house in the spring and had to take it down to the studs..insulation and drywall will be winter projects..

the flower mound will finally go to trees and food bushes this fall with ground cover
for attempted weed prevention...hey i like to dream ;)
i have dogwoods in there
thornless blackberries
and 5 new elderberry bushes
as well as 8 blueberry
and in front of the mound you can see my five hazelnut trees - new this spring

the excessive rain pretty much finished off the flowers as you can see those black sticks were flowers..sigh
and the weeds are having a run for control

but I have saved tons of seeds and will share with anyone who would like some
pm me for a list

the flowers along the fence are doing well for the bees

helpful doggies looking for that rabbit..well it was really a groundhog

which is very important for the best part of this year
hubby was called to gather a swarm of bees around june 23..
then even with the year being very wet they needed another super around july 15
and yesterday he put on the queen excluder and the third super..
wow.

there's lots more  but I figure I have bored you enough for now
so go grow something

Sky,

Beautiful garden, as Soma said, its EPIC!

I miss my raised beds for sure now!

Tyring my best in a terraced sunny area,
with much of what I have in pots.

Thanks for the wonderful scenery Sky, you have done well with your Green thumb attributes and have the visuals and harvest to prove you worthy.

As I was looking and reading upon your images and words, I was, but for a moment, taken back to the days of canning and listening my Great Grand Mother and Grand Mother chatting in Dutch/German, was a wonderful time to be a kid, those days are now gone, but am fond of the memories it has has embossed upon my memory.

Thanks for sharing.

Everything looks great (except the termite room ;) ), I wish I could have a vacation on a place like that. :)

The closest thing we had was a small (400 square metres) plot with a small, old, brick house, but we had to sell it. :(

That's the only thing I don't like in living in a city, on a 4th floor, not enough nature close to me.

Somamech

Totally agree with you on the small block problem ArMap.... It sucks for gardening  >:(

sky otter

oh ArMaP
i don't know how you di it.. or anyone without some nature
i'ld probably be breaking the floors with the number of pots to grow things in

if you guys ever get to the states.. pm me
i have space
