Nikola Tesla humanitarian / Genius.
never forget this great man who gave so much
& asked for nothing but to let electricity be free for all.

Have you seen the old vid of people dancing and a guy in a gorilla suit walks straight through the scene? Only a small percentage of folk see the gorilla. The brain is rather selective on what it engages with.

In my job we have a saying called "hot soapy water".
What it means is when you are conversing with a person, and they are in a heightened state , it could be excitement or calculation or laughter etc.
You can say pretty much ANYTHING to them and they will not hear you.
It's hilarious sometimes.
Try it.

I once did something similar. At the end of a party, everybody was saying their goodbyes, so I tried to see if people were in a kind of a "goodbye mode", in which they all say the same things and expect other people to do the same, so instead of saying goodbye I said something like "god-damn you".

Nobody noticed. :)

Armap, it's so funny we do it pretty much everyday.
Also did you know that people talk to themselves out loud in crowded situations and arnt aware of it!.
It doesn't even have to be very crowded!
A city street midday.
It's fascinating.

I noticed that with my brother when he was playing Doom with the headphones on, as he couldn't hear himself as usual his breathing was noisier and his comments during the playing (usually not that good) were also louder than usual.

Armap, exactly.
We are always protecting ourselves within our perceivable boundaries.
When we go into any degree of stress we chat to ourself.
It's our only lifeline.

You did it the easy way...try saying the COLOR not reading the words.

Did it first time through bu it was hesitatingly that I did so. It is an interesting challenge.

The only problem I have with that is that I have first to remember how that colour is named in English, I don't have any problem saying the name of the colour in Portuguese. :)

One may find our experiences are based on automatic systems.

The Brain is an automatic "decoder/encoder" (part of the Brains Workings) and the One
which does have options, is NOT the "human species" but the "Watcher"
(sometimes referred to by the ancients) a "Partition of LIFE", or "The Real Self"
NOT part of the Program (Experience of universe) in ancient times sometimes
referred to as The Living One" or "Watcher". (Observer of the world)

Neurologists suggest that decisions (responses) are not made through "Intelligence but rather "Emotion".

In other words a part of our brain involves a processor/s (Automatic) but the "Operator" is Emotional based.   :)
