Yes, indeed.  It's not a pretty sight, WWIII.

May it be averted.  Of course, a poll says 91% of Us do NOT want to get involved in Syria, but since Our government is rogue, THAT little fact is irrelevant to Them.

They do NOT represent Us.  So...  What can We do but scream and yell and call and write and sign petitions to no avail.  They WANT WWIII, and I think They just may get it.

Mentioned in another thread, the attack date is being claimed for Aug 30/31.  With all the prep and tests and supplies and stuff being readied by Oct. 1, You think maybe They have the plan down pat?

There is a single group of people who can stop this; and it is the one group that, within the context of prevention, at least, nobody is talking about.

If Obama illegally invades Syria, he will use American military personnel in order to do so.  These will be the same people, of whom the military veterans of this forum will tolerate no criticism.  Said soldiers will not be held responsible for those they kill; for the attrocities which they will surely commit in Syria.  They will, instead, be lauded for engaging in "sacrifice," and if any talk of their responsibility is mentioned, the same defense of them will be offered, that the Germans tried to offer at Nuremberg; that they were only following orders, and it was therefore their superiors alone who were culpable.

Do you want action to stop World War 3, Thor?  If you truly do, I will tell you how we can act.

Many of you here are fond of the science fiction series, Stargate SG-1.  So from that series, I will remind you of how the character Teal'c said, that the Jaffa were the knees and shoulders of the Goa'uld.  In the same way, the contemporary police and military are the support system of the psychopaths, and maintain their authority.

We must make known, that the troops will no longer be given the respect of the civilian public, if they choose to follow unlawful orders that are issued to them by psychopaths.  Iraq and Afghanistan had nothing to do with the defense of freedom; Syria will not either.  It will, in fact, be about the complete opposite; the extension of American empire, which will only lead to murder and attrocity abroad, and continually increasing tyranny at home.

If they fear imprisonment for refusing such orders, in the same way that Bradley Manning has been imprisoned for supposedly breaking the law, then I must ask them; why are they more willing to potentially give their lives, while committing acts of injustice in invaded countries, than they are in the process of refusing the order to do so?  Is it so much easier to potentially die while doing that which is wrong, than that which they know to be right?

Or is it because they value the cognitive dissonance, and the doublethink?  That they enjoy being able to go to these countries and commit attrocities, and bully and terrorise their populations, while simultaneously lying to themselves that they are doing the opposite?

Chastise and reprimand me as much as you wish, for making this post.  Before you do, however, I would ask only that I be attacked on the basis of reason, rather than pure, unthinking emotion.  I will again say that my own contribution to this thread has, as always, been to mention the elephant in the room; the one issue which everyone can see, and everyone can recognise, if they are only willing, but which none are willing to acknowledge.

If World War 3 happens, then it will only be because we have collectively made the choice for that to be so.  Everyone speaks as though it is inevitable.  It is NOT!
