What kind of phenomenon could cause this in the sky?

I came across a video that showed this phenomenon in the sky and that intrigued me. What can this be?

Strange Sky Phenomenon:

The first time I saw the video, thought it was a hoax. So I decided to look for videos that could show the same phenomenon or, at least be, similar. I found this:

Weird things in the clouds:

Strange weather, lights, WHAT:

Strange lights in a storm cloud during the day:

So, anyone here has a clue about what this could be?

Joel had sent the video to Walter Lyons, a meteorologist from WeatherVideoHD, who was able to identify this phenomenon. Here's his reply:

The answer lies in this: ice crystals, especially long needles, tend to become aligned with the ambient electric field.

So what you are seeing is sunlight reflecting off ice crystal faces that are constantly being oriented by the developing electric field just above the [cumulonimbus] top. Then there is a discharge in the cloud, and the field collapses momentarily, and the crystals begin to realign again. Then this just keeps happening over and over.

Very Interesting...

My first thought was the activity looks similar to/like lightening,
which we know is electricity...

I wonder what the electronic HAARP was up to on these days,
over these areas?

In any case so very odd so many caught it on video recently,
whereas never seen before.

You know, this is what I ask to myself, because everytime I am looking up to the sky when a storm comes... where is it? When I will see this simple case of ice crystals too? ::)

I will keep looking ;)
