Why no zooming in. Looks like a jet contrail with the trailing contrail shadowed by the clouds in front of the sun on the trail. Must have been a cellphone camera.

Nope, no suggestion either. There does seem to be visible trail of "black" that extends behind/above the "white-whatever" that is. Does an actual contrail ever begin to look like black smoke? Is it moving in any direction? I first thought it was coming down, but then it began to look like it was just hanging there.

It's not moving much at all... just sitting there

are you sure it is just sitting there?
it may have turned away from the viewer and be heading off laterally
if the film when longer we may have been able to see that..or somthing else
