I don't think so, what is responsible is the way people act, and they act like that based on theism, politics, soccer clubs, whatever people can use as an excuse to have a target for their violence.
In scriptures like the old testament and Islamic law books, there are specific instructions to stone to death and various other inhuman acts.  Belief that scripture is the law (or word of God just because you are told it is so by a human) is in no small part one of the primary causes of murder and war.

The crusades, the creation of a war crime state of Israel, the Inquisition, the wars to wipe out the Cathars, Jihad and the murderous atrocities of ISIL/IS are all massively influenced on idiots basing their actions on a couple of books.

Time to wake up.  If you think the Babble or other works are a reliable guide to life then pull your head out of the proverbial sand.  Stop being fools!  >:(

True enough, I guess I should rephrase. Theism has been used as justification for so much violence, anguish, and despair in the world. While it's true that people can use anything as justification for violence, I think it's objectively true that theism has been one of the larger tools to that end in human history.

The Christian is miles away.  Jesus was not God.  She is right.  On the other hand, praying 5 times a day is also utterly pointless - even if you love it.  Give up scriptural Bollocks and start living.

If there is a God then you were gifted the ability to think and make decisions for yourself.  If said God exists then the moment you hand over your actions to a book or another humans interpretation of it you insult that God by insulting the ability to think for yourself.  Surely that stands to reason.  Come on Sheeple.  I'm the Shepherd of men and I say think for yourself.

QuoteIt chanced once on a time, while I was meditating on the things that are, my thought was raised to a great height, yet my bodily senses had been put under restraint as in sleep, though not such sleep as that of men weighed down by fullness of food or bodily weariness. Methought a Being more than vast, in size beyond all bounds, called out my name and said:

"What would you hear and see, and what have you in mind to learn and know?"

"Who are you?" said I.

"I am the Pymander, Divine Mind of the Sovereignity, the Shepherd of Men. I know what you desire, and I am with you everywhere."

"I long to learn the things that are, " I replied, "and comprehend their nature, and know God. This is what I desire to hear."

"Hold in your mind all you would know," the Shepherd answered back to me, "and I will teach you."

It does stand to reason. The problem is that believing that there is a magical sky wizard listening to all of your thoughts and then deciding entirely on his own whim to grant your wishes or not is not reasonable at all, and yet the majority of the world believes exactly that. Reason doesn't work on the unreasonable.

I have tested this scientifically.  I have been waiting over 20 years for my millions in a Swiss bank account and yacht on the Mediterranean.  If the sky wizard is there he also let my sister die slowly of cancer by the age of 20!  He can sit on my cock!  >:(

My ex taught me that! ::)

I can relate to that exactly. My sister died of cancer at 28, leaving behind 2 kids and a husband. I guess the sky wizard was too busy helping actors win oscars.

The only part that does not originate in a free democracy is their twisted philosophy.  Funny that.  ::)
