Apollo Astronaut Edgar Mitchell Dies at Age 85

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, lunar module pilot on Apollo 14, passed away Thursday in West Palm Beach, Fla., on the eve of the 45th anniversary of his lunar landing.

Mitchell joined Apollo 14 commander Alan Shephard, Jr., the first American in space, in the lunar module Antares, which touched down Feb. 5, 1971, in the Fra Mauro highlands. Shepard and Mitchell were assigned to traverse the lunar surface to deploy scientific instruments and perform a communications test on the surface, as well as photograph the lunar surface and any deep space phenomena. It was Mitchell's only spaceflight.

Mitchell and Shephard set mission records for the time of the longest distance traversed on the lunar surface; the largest payload returned from lunar surface; and the longest lunar stay time (33 hours). They were also the first to transmit color TV from the lunar surface. Mitchell helped collect 94 pounds of lunar rock and soil samples that were distributed across 187 scientific teams in the United States and 14 other countries for analysis.

"On behalf of the entire NASA family, I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell," NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a statement. "As a member of the Apollo 14 crew, Edgar is one of only 12 men to walk on the moon and he helped to change how we view our place in the universe. "

Mitchell was drawn to the spaceflight by President Kennedy's call to send astronauts to the moon. "After Kennedy announced the moon program, that's what I wanted, because it was the bear going over the mountain to see what he could see, and what could you learn, and I've been devoted to that, to exploration, education, and discovery since my earliest years, and that's what kept me going," Mitchell said in 1997 interview for NASA's oral history program.

"To me, that (spaceflight) was the culmination of my being, and what can I learn from this? What is it we are learning? That's important, because I think what we're trying to do is discover ourselves and our place in the cosmos, and we don't know. We're still looking for that."

In his book "The Way of the Explorer", Mitchell wrote, "There was a sense that our presence as space travelers, and the existence of the universe itself, was not accidental but that there was an intelligent process at work."

Captain Bruce Cathie dies at 83

Oops This was actualy 2013

QuoteA man known for his fascination with the skies - and the unidentified flying objects that sometimes occupy them - has died.

Captain Bruce Cathie, a retired pilot and author, passed away on Sunday after a short illness. He was 83.

At an intimate funeral service in Henderson in West Auckland yesterday, close friends joined family members to celebrate his life.

A simple pine-coloured coffin, with yellow flowers and a pilot's hat on top, sat at the front of the room.

Youngest son Mark paid tribute to a man whose theories - and ultimately mind - were before his time.

Mr Cathie said he regularly received emails from scientists and researchers from around the world who had been inspired by his father's work.

"I believe he was a genius. Many other people do so too...and his legacy lives on."

Captain Cathie grew up in Onehunga and Otahuhu. He worked for years as an airline pilot for the then National Airways Corporation - New Zealand's domestic airline which later merged into national carrier, Air New Zealand.

However a chance encounter in 1952 changed his life forever. He was among a group of co-pilots who saw what he described as a UFO hovering over the Manukau Harbour.

The captain believed the manoeuvres it had carried out that evening could not have been made by any man-made machine and decided to investigate further.

In later years he came up with complicated mathematical theories that he believed could help predict how UFOs operate and when certain nuclear-based events on earth would take place.

He wrote a total of six books over the years, including Harmonic 33, The Energy Grid and The Harmonic Conquest of Space, which also became well known internationally.

At his funeral yesterday, it was acknowledged that Captain Cathie had taken a lot of flak from skeptics over the years. He also had to deal with people who had seen what he had seen, but were not brave enough to talk openly about it.

Despite that, he was determined to do the work he was passionate about, son Mark said.

"Nearly every pilot talked about [seeing objects in the sky]...but in hushed tones. Nobody wanted to talk about the elephant in the room.

"He left a very big footprint, for a quiet man. Dad was a quiet soul, a deep thinker."

Captain Cathie's wife Wendy, whom he met while working for the NAC airline - where she was an air hostess - talked about a sensitive partner who wrote poems for her.

"We would always leave a note in each other's little cupboards. Believe it or not we were great dancers. Everyone was always getting us to start the dancing."

Captain Cathie is survived by wife Wendy and sons Stephen and Mark.

Captain Cathie's theory:

Using complicated mathematical calculations, Captain Cathie formed a theory dubbed the World Energy Grid System.

It is based on the idea that a grid-like energy pattern covers the earth and which has the power to control or cause nuclear-based events such as a nuclear explosion or bomb.

According to him, this same energy grid is also the power source for UFOs that regularly appear and are seen by people all around the world.

In 1994, Captain Cathie described his calculations - the main one dubbed the "harmonic equation" - to Nexus Magazine.

"I came to the conclusion that the speed of light, mass and gravity acceleration values must have some connection with the grid structure in order to explain the extraordinary manoeuvres carried out by the strange craft."

In later years Captain Cathie said he came to find that his energy grid system was a concept that was already widely understood by various scientists and international researchers.

He told the magazine: "It became obvious that the system had many military applications and that political advantage could be gained by those with secret knowledge of this nature."

RIP Comander Sgt. Major Bob Dean, thank you!

This one is popping up on FB but I cannot comfirm it yet

QuoteEd. Note: A few days ago I posted a video of a previously unpublished interview from 2012 of Bob Dean. At the time of publishing I wasn't aware that he recently transitioned to the otherside. Apparently the video was released to the world and not held back, as a measure of respect to Bob's work. That's all I know, and am still waiting to hear how and when.

Over the last several years Bob's health was failing, so I'm assuming he passed over recently due to natural causes. Will post an update here if I learn anything different.

Like many people, Bob had a great impact on my awakening in the late 00's. I always considered him a "Major Tom" archetype for starseeds, that he came here to activate "The Ground Crew" so we could begin our Service in preparing the collective for the planetary shift. I submit this report with a heavy heart and a soul tear, dedicated to the memory of a great man who lived his extraordinary life with Grace and a never ending dedication to sharing the Truth about humanity's hidden history with intelligent, advance races from other worlds and dimensions.

Thank-you Commander Sgt. Major Bob Dean for your Service...I'm sure this is one soul who isn't "resting in peace". He's joining the ranks of Dr Rauni Kilde, Delores Cannon and Wayne Dyer, other enlightened souls who were needed beyond the veil to finish the final work in collapsing the matrix. They are much more powerful in Spirit form, then they ever were in these broke-down human skinsuits.
