Some years ago i would think or say very similar to you Pimander..and to some extent may still do...that business profits are no doubt made from its employees..and one may question how much tax a employee should pay.... especially as you mention if they work for large business corporations..

I think over the last few years the amount you can earn now before tax in the U.K has increased quite a bit compared to 10 to 20 years ago % wise..
and if one is an employee.. they will ALWAYS NO MATTER believe that they pay too much tax..and probably do...

BUT I am very sorry to also say... Without business.. few people would be able to earn...

and Those who are the business owners.. who are or were lucky , wealthy , strong or clever or Corrupt (in some cases if say they stole money to set up) enough... that few people would make it by trying to set up in business for themselve's...

Most of us (maybe 70% or maybe 90% or more of the population ) don't have what it takes ...

so as cruel as it may seem... that's how life is..

Being in business is often hard..especially in the early days..

Some businesses.. can seem to have things easy, depending what type it is..

but often as one gets older.. it can be seen that there are so many things that has to be considered or new laws and regs by Government that may drain a business.. that's where a business can easily go under..and again high taxation wont help it..

In what seemed a more ideal time in the 1960s to 80s before Mrs thatcher..in the U.K times and the way things were may have seemed easier..

But I think since then things have got tougher in many ways ..although technology can be a leveler for some businesses..but it may also replace its employees..

I really do wish things could be better and easier..
for some, not doubt they are in ok positions...if qualified and have gained experience..

but for many younger people its been and maybe is tough in the world of work and business  IMO !

It seems that generally ...Most folk have to reply on working for others to make a living...

Generally It is an easier way to earn money ..for most.. But I am well aware some / maybe many jobs are tough and or hard to learn or train for ..such as learning trades or professions..and Often you see some of the larger companies pay better salaries than smaller companies.. and often this does seem so unfair to those who are not able to get jobs in the higher paying companies...

It does seem that maybe the so called class system is divided on such things..

Ive been in large and small companies and seen and been on both sides..

I got in one company , got paid 3 x more than I had in other smaller companies and did half the work..
Then been laid off and back into normality..

It seemed so unfair...for anyone who was not able to be in he better company !

but life can be a bitch !  ??? Part of life's ups and downs ! for the majority.

The other aspect is when you are younger.. you don't know what may happen in the future..then as you get older you can see the divide and realise whats what and how business or the employment situation is..

then you wish you had done this or that ..
but it may just all be fate at the end of the day..
some winners and losers..

No doubt for those who get over 40.. if they have not managed to succeed...by hard work or fate.. the options become less in the work place today..certainly once one hits 50..

QuoteThis is how the elite would want you to think.

Who benefits most from a multi-national company?  A person who works lots of hours and gets paid enough to survive?  Or is it the owners who get paid for the work other people do in the form of profits?  Obviously it is the owners who should therefore pay most (I'd argue nearly all) tax.

Who can afford to pay taxes?  The low paid worker who barely earns enough to survive or the elite who profit from their work?
