I awoke from a cold sweat, frightened.  My consciousness had entered an Alternative Timeline during the night.

Unlike other timelines in which Nazis or the Confederacy wins, this bizarre world made no sense at all.

Apparently, a Reality TV star, took on the acting role of being a Republican President ( even though he was registered in the other party).  In the election, he defeated a warmonger, who pretended to be a liberal Democrat.  Strangest of all, nobody seemed to notice or think any of this was odd.  Clearly, this sort of hallucination would make anyone suspect that we lived in some sort of Matrix-style reality in which the programming had gone awry.

Anyway, the US therein seemed hellbent on threatening every nation with war, based on obvious lies, even though it teetered on the edge of financial ruin. Weird....

As Mark Twain observed, "fiction has to make sense".  I decided not to write down this narrative because it clearly defied any suspension of belief common to such writing.

I'm really glad to be back in the normal universe, with Jefferson Davis IV still our President and our alliance with the Reich guaranteeing world peace.  Living anywhere else would be a confusing nightmare.

This seems a bit hysterical. How about suspending judgment about what you don't like and giving him a chance to prove he can perform as president?

It's not that I fancy a world of racists and mass murderers, it's that at least such a world would make sense ! Philip Dick is spinning in his grave.

Maybe we could call this world, "The Orange Man In The High Castle".

I think Trump may do some amazing things.  Peace with Russia would be an incredible achievement. Better yet, end this cruel empire and Mind Our Own Business. If Progressives could get their heads out of their derrieres, they might perceive a huge ( 'yuge') opportunity for Nice Deal-Making over being doctrinaire.
