I'm guessing that there must be a simple explanation for this shadow.
Just guessing, I would say the ISS flew thru a lunar eclipse.

It's more likely that it was an ISS eclipse, as ISS crosses the Earth's shadow once every 90 minutes or so.

Perhaps you might explain just how the ISS creates a circular shadow?

Who is saying that it was created by the ISS? ???

Obviously, I misunderstood this.

So, what did cast that shadow, please?

Peace.

The same thing that casts the shadow that creates Lunar eclipses, the Earth, that's why I said that the ISS crosses the Earth's shadow once every 90 minutes or so.

Thor, my opinion is that the circular shadow in the OP vid was cast by the moon,i.e. a lunar eclipse, that the ISS flew thru;

Armap things the footage was created as the ISS made it's normal route from sun to shadow every ninety minutes

So, the ISS has been continuously manned since November, 2000 - 6 years and 139 days.

ArMaP, are you saying that this 'phenom' has never been seen in that amount of time?

Seems odd to me.    ;)

And please,which is it?

What cast the shadow, the Earth or the Moon?

Thank you.

No, I'm saying that I think that it's most likely for it to be the Earth's shadow.

And no, it's not the first time this has been filmed, I have seen several videos with similar effects.

Both cast shadows, Earth's shadow is bigger and closer to the ISS, so I think it's more likely to be the Earth's shadow.

Maybe I'm not getting something, but...  What is the shadow being cast upon?
"If the universe is made of mostly Dark Energy...can We use it to run Our cars?"

"If You want peace, take the profit out of war."

The ISS and the earth below it...

(and from a previous post.)

It's more likely that it was an ISS eclipse, as ISS crosses the Earth's shadow once every 90 minutes or so.

What exactly is the "Earth shadow" that the ISS crosses? Do you have a photo?

QuoteThe Earth's shadow or Earth shadow (also sometimes known as the dark segment) is the shadow that the Earth itself casts on its atmosphere. This shadow is often visible from the surface of the Earth, as a dark band in the sky near the horizon.

If that is the Earth's shadow, what is it being cast upon?

Odd that this phenom has never been discussed on the net as far as I can find.

Perhaps you might be so good as to back up your claim with facts as opposed to your  (learned) opinion.

Thank you.

Let me restate my thoughts; I believe it is a solar eclipse, where the moon is passing between the sun and the ISS and the earth below it...

I know, brain farts increase as I get older  :P
