but the problem is, when the SHTF where will you get that ammo?  It will run out sooner than later... and unlike the movies where those machine guns never seem to run out of ammo... (and they never seem to hit anyone )  making your own is not an easy task. The shells can only e reused so many times

You can always retreive your bolts from the bad guy's chest...cant reusue bullets though!

And crossbows are dead silent!

Ive cleared entire automobile interiors with the sound of flatulence...very effective and no discernable marks on the victimes either..

oh i agree, silent and deadly! i love Bows,any kind.
But it should be noted that firearms are also silent! as if you hear the shot
you're still alive! or at least have a chance of living from a wound.
it's only human to duck when the shot rings out,part of the survival instinct.
