As one of the homeless, I am touched and grateful for this post, Lady.  I count Myself lucky to have friends - friends who have sacrificed to ensure I do not starve, and have at least a roof over My head (and interweb access).  But I have been on the streets, and I have been in shelters, and I know how very much it means to have a kind word spoken or a bit of charity.

(On cold December day I was sitting with My stuff, in Davenport, IA, waiting for 9 PM to come and the place where They let Us sleep at night.  A lady pulled up to the curb, and Her son jumped out and came up to Me and handed Me three dollars.  He said nothing, just paused a moment after I thanked Him from the bottom of My heart, then went back to the car, got in, and They drove away.

Three dollars was surely not much - very little I could buy with it - but the gesture was worth to Me far more than all the gold in the world.)

Anybody still livid about Katrina? I know I am!!

Individual Americans donated TONS of supplies and loaded up private 18 wheelers and drove them down there.

They were stopped at the border by federal authorities and turned away!!

:o  >:(  :o  >:(

I would have told the guy get your boss on the phone... NOW!

And kept going up the chain of command all the way to the Dam president if I had to. 'Sir, we are standing at the border here with relief supplies for our neighbors and they won't let us in!"

Then I would have shut down the rigs and started a sit in and started calling newspapers and tv stations and not budged till they let us in.

What an OUTRAGE!!

Average Americans ARE good people and want to help their fellow humans.

Yes, Pim, Humans are caring, loving Beings.  That there are a few - and many of Them mind controlled, to be sure - who choose to behave poorly is played up in the media, giving the impression Humans are a sad lot.  Too many buy that tripe.

But that is just not true.  Not true at all.  That is why I know the Abundance Paradigm WILL work.

Someone would like to see us all homeless, and it seems our PTb are making every effort to ensure there are many!

Man...Im going tomorrow to drop off some sliders! Gotta start the healing somewhere!

Sometimes I wonder if mankind has gone insane.  If we can't bond together to help the helpless, then we are truly doomed..by our own hand.

Good on you, Le!  One act of kindness begins a ripple effect; when you are thanked and told you can't be repayed, just tell them to "pass it on".  That simple phrase is what started me on my journey.

I like to think, if that had made national headlines, the people of this world would have risen up in anger.  But I know that is my own fantasy.

A similar event happened years ago. To make room for the 1982 World's Fair attractions, the then-mayor of Knoxville exercied the Right of Immenent Domain to take a woman's ancestral home (she was 100 at the time).  I tried to find the article but I couldn't.  In this instance, the people spoke out loudly but to no avail.

Sickening when people are treated like chattle!

Most of us live from payday to payday and are only 1 paycheck away from homelessness.  I know we do.

The story of Karen Klein is a wonderful illustration of what happens when people give from the heart.

I am glad you have caring friends, Amaterasu.  I, too, have been in your situation.

Peace and blessings to you  :)

Oh yes, I am!  That situation gave me ulcers!!

My husband, thanks to the goodness of the company he works for, drove one of their big rigs full of food  and other supplies donated by local businesses and individuals from our neighborhood.  I'm amazed he wasn't arrested because he most certainly did not go quietly.

I fervently agree!  We are force fed the bad, but goodness is still alive in the hearts of most people.

I'm not sure if its mind-control or a lack of conscience.

Hey, Jae!

It seems weve been considered chattle for millenia by whoever has been more in possession of money or gold. A sick societal dysfunction? Indeed!

Socialism gets a bad rap as it should in the way it has been applied with foolish results in the past, but a true civilization of equaity is really just a form of socialism, although webster wont agree!

If we just took all the wealth and distributed it around, it would be mayhem, so the moral and ethical structure has to change to make any form of new socialism work. Those who are lazy and want to sit around and get high or rob their neighbor, must be singled out and put somewhere special, where they can live that type of life, and those who wish to be a positive part of society shall live in peace afterwards, free from the evil doers, and lazy minds.

Most folks who are homeless would bust their arses to make enough money to own anything..especially a house or car, and the reason many dont is because the corporate world, repugs AND dumbocrats dont pay them enough while sitting on their hill of ill earned beans.

The wealthy are in true fear of losing their power, so the lower they can send the rest of us, the better for them.
Unacceptable in the context of a universe, but pervasive in the context of a single planet.

We really need some help from afar, and hopefully we get it someday, because if this world goes on like it is, we will all perish as a broken civilization....like the ones before us.

Calling for alien help? Well whatever gets the job done!

Stay cool, Jae!

It is one thing to be considered chattle by the so-called elite, Le, but it seems to have become the pervasive attitude of the "man-on-the-street".  It seems only a few place any value on a human life anymore.  Part of that, I'm sure, is the doom & gloom force-fed us by the MSM.  Very, very seldom are we allowed to hear/see anything of an uplifting nature.

Most of the homeless I have met would be happy with a good meal and sturdy roof over their heads on a regular basis.  It is hard to think past an empty stomach...especially when that stomach belongs to your child.

I look forward to the day when peace and prosperity for all is the norm.  I truly believe that we will have to destroy ourselves first.

Rebirth can heal, but we arent beyond repair yet..close though.

If we are to heal, it will be from a new awakening of common kindness and sharing weve lost in the maze of selfishness and greed.

Im passing the word, and so are you!

Happy days are comin!

Cheers!

Socialism is a scarcity paradigm.  I advocate abundancism.  Where there is more than enough for everyOne.  Where One can have just for the asking.  Where doctors are doctors because They CARE, not because They make money.  Where products are made to LAST and not made to eventually break to ensure future sales.  Where theft-deterrent packaging is unnecessary, reducing (further) waste.  Where cures are not hidden so as to ensure continued "treatments" so as to make PROFIT.

As long as the scourge of money, needed to account for meaningful energy expended and providing power over Others, is used, socialism will fail.  Some WILL take more and have power over Others.

QuoteLife-threatening' heat warning across much of US
'Overall pattern looks like it is going to stick around well into July,' meteorologist says

...The warnings were issued for parts of Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Nebraska, Missouri, Indiana, Oklahoma and Kansas. Weather.com said much of the Northeast would see temperatures in the 90s.

"If precautions are not taken ... persons outside could suffer from heat exhaustion and potentially heat stroke. Heat-related illness can be life-threatening," the Weather Service warned.

"Temperatures within vehicles can become lethal in a few minutes. Never leave children or pets in vehicles," it added.

The NWS said parts of central Indiana could see the hottest weather since the 1930s.

Please! Just 1 bottle or gallon jug of water can save a life.

If you have elderly neighbors, please check on them.  Most scale back the air-conditioning (or turn it off altogether) to save on the power bill.  A fixed-income stretches only so far.

Le and Amaterasu,

We must teach (especially the children) and lead by example.  The world is watching.

Kindness is like a stone tossed into still water.  Even the tiniest stone will cause ripples which are ever expanding.  If enough of us practice tossing , the ripples will not stop.

Peace and blessings to you both  :)

Well put, and a bit of kind wise philosophy for Lady Jae!
You are truly a cool gal!
I hope we can someday make a meeting, maybe in Vegas, for all of us to share a big group hug!
