Good luck.
I have been fighting this for over 4 years. I was diagnosed when I went for a double hernia. It was over 300. I lost about 100 lbs. And really watch what I eat. I am 6 ft 3 in an 220lbs. The DR says I need to loose another 25 lol on that. I am trying to exercise more.

My last DR apointment my a1c was 8.4 not good. I am now on Meds but I want to get off.

I am pretty active. I coach soccer and play in the spring and fall senior league.

I do believe that some of it is in the blood line.ON my dads side most of the males have it.My dad, Grandfather uncles brothers ect.None of the women do.
I did get the green coffee bean extract yesterday. On my second dose. I will get back with you and let you know if I see any changes.

Thanks Back...Let me know about the Coffee bean Extract...The adverts are all over the place, so I'm going to wait for more opinions on it..Seems like it is being touted more for weight loss...Congrats on your weight loss, hang in there....

Include cinnamon in your diet and exercise.  Meat and potatoes aren't necessarily bad.  Use lean grass fed beef and cut down on the yummies on your potatoes. The butter, sour cream, allthat good stuff. Increasing your fiber intake is helpful too.

Be aware that metformin can cause weight gain.  Quiz your pharmacist about your meds.  They get paid to answer your questions.  The tech who waits on you at the counter is not licensed to provide medication counseling.

You should also remember that high blood sugars cause vascular damage.  Tthe most visible sign is lower limb amputation.  The less visible sign is dementia.  The brain runs on sugar, but too much will debilitate it.

The sweetener, Stevia, comes from a plant, is 300 times sweeter than sugar, and helps BALANCE blood sugar.  I recommend it in place of sugar for all who have blood sugar issues.

Thanks Amy....I can't bake so I guess I'm stuck with store bought stuff, My sister bakes with Stevia..Maybe I will get a holiday package. I hardly ever use sweetener...Just a teaspoon if Splenda in my morning coffee.....

I just found out this morning that garlic can supposedly lower blood sugar levels, too.

I eat about half a BULB of garlic a day...  Maybe this is why I don't have blood sugar issues (along w/the stevia...).

I am a garlic fiend....Put it in by Juicer with Beets, onion, and celery root...sweetened with apples....This is how I got off my HBP meds...Maybe time to add cinnamon to the mix.....
