Ok I have been checking up on the info about the pictures, They do look like polaroids but I was told today that the are negatives, 1-12 are numbered on the pics and the the only name was on the back was Dexter. Each one says dexter in the back, not sure if that is the film which was used but it might be a lead. I am still trying to get them scanned this weekend to post. I do apologize by misleading anyone was not my intention. I am new to all this, but if they are negatives would that still be great info or not. I am not really sure if negatives are rare either. But pics will be posted either way. Once again people I apologize if I misled anyone but that what I was told in the first place. I hope anyone one here can also help me with info about the negatives. Plus I think everyone has more info about this that I do at this time.

Do you have pictures or negatives?

I don't see how you can mistake negatives for polaroids to be perfectly honest. :D

When doing a Google search for Dexter + Apollo and Dexter 35mm Apollo I came across this site:

Corresponding Pictures:

Dexter seems to be the brand the pictures were sold under.

I think apollo film was 70mm

It was 70mm Pim.
I am guessing that these are rehashed photos sold to the public from either NASA or some related Company > On 35mm Slides and Photos.

That First Photo Job
09/07/09 22:53
My big summer was in 1969. Forty years ago. I graduated from high school, made trips to Colorado and Boston, and watched the Apollo 11 landing on a TV outdoors with about 30 friends.

Also, I had my first in photography job. I was aerospace engineering student avoiding the draft. Several of my friends were working at a NASA contractor in Whittier. They were assembling sets of 35mm color slides of Apollo space missions for retail and aerospace companies. http://www.harrysonpics.com/files/category-21.html

starwarp, the second pics look the most accurate, the ones i have are about 4x4 inches, all color. the lower part has the number 27-1/27-12 which i think are just number in order. that is the closest pic I can compare them too. I appreciate the help and i will still post them to share even if they are duplicates. If any one has any other info it would be awesome, thank you all.

A 70mm moon shot should give you a 4 x 4 format as a standard print.

Are these prints or polorids. Oh my aching head?

They are not polaroids I confirmed this yesterday night, 4x4 picture in color with dexter on the back. So if they come out just to be 70 MM, are those just reproductions then?

NASA uses an outside source to print copies of negatives for public use. I recently ordered a photo from NASA.

The process is that you contact the archivist and order your print. Once that request has been accepted the archivist takes the negative (in this case next door to JPL in Houston) to Bay Area imaging.

This contractor then makes the print (in my case one 11x14 print and one 600 DPI scan for printing posters) This service has a fee. In my case it was a total of $110.00 for the print and the cd scan

The 35 mm slides are such a product sold to the public

BTW the photo I ordered was this one :D

Thank you very much for the info, I am still getting them scannedby the end of the weekend, still gonna post them if anyone is still interested.
