Name is the not that important on youtube. The videos ARE.

The name has to be something descent and forthcoming. PegasusReaserch is precise that.

1.
Its the videos that makes the channel. I have two channels with over 400.000 views, so thats 800.000 views total. Almost only music videos. But they are for 95% "5" stars (old system) videos.

2.
When your videos are picked up by youtube (they have high watch times, a lot of tumbs ups, are being shared, get in play lists...) you videos "can" go viral... The videos will be shown higher in searches, get mentioned besides other good videos. Then you get the 3000+ views a day without doing anything...

Then adsense comes also in... thats a different story.
You want big bucks? have a good Niche, have a lot of views.
videos have to be longer then 1 minute to get the overlay commercials, they pay!
The right Niche gets more money per hit. Dunno what commercials "conspiracies" will atrract.

My advice?
Two channels... one with "professional productions", one with "amateur productions" for people like me:P.
The professional productions broadcast with the official pegasus account, the amateur vids will attract a lot of views since a lot of youtubers primarily pick up those... you never know whats in it:) Link them in the info windows etc... You will reach a lot more youtubers together.
Or only one channel with both  uploads. But.,.. maybe not the best at the end if you want to become a very serious channel with dito communication.

Personally I have linked 6 channels to one adsense account. Works fine.

Add in EVERY video a good info about pegasus and WORKING hyperlinks.

Title does a great trick. Study the best words like and use them. By adding "2012 2013"you get more hits... since youtubers search for those terms.

Videos have to be HD and widescreen IMO, even when the video has been recorded with one pixel. Pick the right conversion when saving.

8.
Thumbnailing.... Use a good thumbnail for your youtube videos. After a while you are allowed to use your own thumbnails.
What is a good thumbnail? it has to make people curious, know whats about. Maybe some tekst in it. But beware, using text not always works. Youtubers KNOW when some "dude" tries to be  a wannabee  serious guy, they will be ignored.

9.
Plug the video under the good ones with great views it will gather up to 100 free views a day!:)
And helps the vid to become more populair.

well, if ALL pegasus members with a youtube account link to pegasus channel or website...

Even uploading a HOAX works... hahaha I once made a stupid HOAX video for ATS just to give an idea how fast you could fake something (strange sounds). It was private. Well.. I made it public, some fancy title and subscription. People eat it... it is just fun.

I think something like TheOnion.com for tech people would be great..silly stories about science to get viewers laughing and feeling positive about their day, then hit them with the real stuff and keep their attention..
