It's not just the UFO scene to which that statement applies to either...

I will admit that I have become extremely skeptical where the UFO scene is concerned.  I'm not skeptical towards the possibility of alien life; my skepticism is directed towards the subculture.

It is the same old material, over and over again; at this point it is impossible for me to view it as anything more than entertainment.  If I visit exopolitics.org now, I'm likely to want to do so with a large pizza box and a bottle of Coke next to me at the same time.  It's cheaper than renting a DVD, and often more fun. ;)

Well don't be skeptical - I'm telling you hand on heart a 'UFO' pretty much said 'Howdy' to me - I'm sure you've seen my post  ;D

Having said that, even given the amount of 'UFO's' that I have witnessed, I don't really follow the UFO scene, which is curious - you'd think I might given my experiences. Must be a hidden driving force guiding me away from all the BULLCRAP - as I'm sure there's enough of it.

Interestingly, the UFO material that does strike a chord with me is dismissed by many others in the field.

Which is fine.

I once looked up at the sky and asked our visitors to present them selves...and they did - I just didn't realise it at the time! lol

FB.

See what you mean Fruitbat but when it comes to the UFO subject would you say the statement is a fair one in the first place?

Sure the 'Exopolitic' sideshow is quite entertaining at times and has certainly disillusioned a fair few people (couldn't have worked better if it was designed to do it) but did think the Disclosure Project's briefing document contained quite a few gems -also featured some nice government documentation and transcripted interviews with FAA officials, Military officers, professional pilots, USAF Radar operatives etc. so I wouldn't say it's all fun and games.

DISCLOSURE PROJECT BRIEFING DOCUMENT

Also thought interviews with folks like and were well worth a watch and if it gets testimony (or awareness of incidents like Tehran incident, the Cannon AFB incident, the Fort Richie incident, the JAL 1628 Alaska case, the Washington fly-overs,  the 1975 SAC flyovers, etc..) to a wider audience then it can't all be a bad thing.

As for there being nothing new in UFO research and 'the same old material, over and over again' then the last NTK video featuring the work of South American Governmental organisations like CEEFA (in conjunction with NARCAP) is a relevant one and there are some good vids below -also looks like Peru have just signed up (link) so maybe the focus shouldn't be in the West anymore but  more with countries like Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru.

Next installment discussing official Brazilian UFO research, government UFO documents and specific cases:

Quote

QuoteThe next episode in our series covers Brazil's UFO investigations. The government of Brazil has openly acknowledged the topic since the 1950's and has released a number of UFO files from their investigations. From 1969 up until 1972 Brazil had an official UFO research organization called The System for the Investigation of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (SIOANI). It'd investigation were open to the public, and they would often work with civilian UFO researchers. However, when the US closed their UFO investigation program, Project Blue Book, the Brazilians soon followed their lead and closed SOIANI in 1972.

Latest installment about Peru's UFO files:

QuotePeru's UFO Files - Your Need to Know

Peru has long been recognized as a UFO hotspot by Ufologists and researchers alike. Some believe that archeological wonders such as the Nazca lines and Machu Picchu are evidence that ancient astronauts visited the area and are possibly still visiting today. On top of its rich archeological connection and a large populace that holds an interest in the phenomenon, Peru stands out as a country that takes UFO sightings very seriously.
