Claiming that someone being "crazy," is their motivation for doing something, is a means of avoiding having to engage in further critical thinking, as far as I am concerned.  It's a non-answer.  Maybe they have some sort of ideology that the rest of us would view as insane, but that still means that they have a concrete justification for it, in their own heads at least.

Yes, and that concrete justification is loyalty to an idea, and ideal,
embodied in a religious dogma.

What we see as insane, they see as a love for the supreme
ideal, or god aka allah.

Actually, insanity by way of a bad religion is nothing new,

Yep agree... anyone who bomb's other people out of the blue with no ryhme or reason ARE crazy and Deluded. 

What make's this debacle even worse is that the media are reporting their country of origin. 

They migrated to America and grew up in the USA.  That make's them American  ::)
