Use Notepad++ to construct and edit code for web pages. Notepad screws with formatting by inserting some weird code when saved. Sometimes breaks html, php and other program code.

Notepadd++ numbers each line of the document code so you have reference to each line.

Too bad it doesn't work well in IE8 or older, as the "background-size" property doesn't work.

yeah that was an issue i encountered as well so i decided not to use it because so many people still run windows xp and therefore ie 8, like deuem for example.

there must be a way to also tell it to show a bgcolor under the backgrounds in the divs

I know, that's why I mentioned it. But I haven't given up yet.

If the background is not repeating I think the background colour will show.

All my websites were created with Netscape Composer 4.7 Used notepad to read code and learn what it does

Now I use the new Netscape/Modzilla which works just like the old Netscape but enhanced. No longer need notepad because you can insert html directly now

A half solution: in IE 8 or lower, that do not have the possibility of resizing the background image, it shows just a background colour, in IE 9 or higher and other browsers it shows the background image resized as needed.

other than my occassional inability to say ordinary words properly lol, the interview with A51Watcher is done.  amy joins A51watcher and myself, in the second half.   it's 3 hours long lol  almost a gig of interview and video.
