Wishing you all the best for 2014 and Beyond.  ;D ;)

Realising a Goal and The Rising of The Mystic Yeti

I started this year with a bang doing something I have never done before which is Hiking Mountain's in Ozzie Land over the Summer Work Break.

What made the hike amazing apart from my own personal experience was the fact that I was with four workmate's, one of which who has attempted Everest, and the other two being my wife along with 2013 designer of the year here in Oz.  The latter two are not fit in anyway shape or form apart from being slim.

I have now found out they are both Very Strong Willed when they are bluffed into something they thought they could never achieve even though they were slightly kicking and screaming at times :D

I also learnt a lot of Lesson's on this adventure into Group Dynamic's.  The Everest Guy obviously is good at this and was pushing along with pace which at time's upset wifey and other guy.  The slow pace upset me as I wanted to push along with Everest guy but I had to make sure wifey was ok.  This created an interesting dynamic for a couple of reasons. As after a couple of hour's on the hike i realised it was all for the better as we needed a person to push ahead to keep the carrot dangling, I played with chain link with the other's trying to keep both party's in touch with other in some form.  The role's did juggle around a bit but that is basically how it panned out for the most part till my wife's leg's and decending prowess didn't see eye to eye.  Then I had to really play guardian for her for a mammoth decent over a trail which has been burnt out by bushfire's along with flood's.. the trail was not friendly even for the best of people.

I dont have any pic's of the Adventure as of yet due to my poor form in underestimating how long it would take to upload my previous pics to my pc before the trip started so I could format my sd card, but I do have my GPS Watch Data !  (funny thing is Mr Everest was talking to other hikers and they thought it was pretty hard to do what we did... YET two people with no fitness whatsoever did it! LOL)

Mind really is over Matter  (it may hurt though) :D

Broad Satellite View also Showing Melbourne where we all reside!

Narrow View showing Enlarged GPS Track on Sat view using google earth:

Graphed GPS Data showing Altitude in Blue, and Speed in KMH in Red (tortoise's thats for sure LOL )

Thanks mate!  You should get up that area over summer as the wildflowers are amazing and are a Very pretty sight.. but heck the fire's that have been through the area are very telling to the point one not need carbon dating LOL

But bloody hell! I had to look up Doogahli :O

PS I saw a couple of Lyrebirds during waking hour's (a first) and some other critters making a racket in the nightime, that which I don't know what they were.  Me and Mr Everest got the headlamps onto them and all I can say is the eye spacing was about koala length between eye's, I would like to know more about that one myself to understand the park more!  The eye refletions were not of wrabbit's or foxe's thats for sure!

Happy New year Soma!

Have fun with the hiking!  When I lived in Seattle I had some of the best mountain trails in my backyard with the Cascades of British Colombia, Washington state, and Oregon.  Once to twice a month every month I hit the trails to bag peaks or just get some exercise on a ridgeline.  I'm not a very religious man(organized religion, I am spiritual), but I've never felt so close to God and the beauty of life when up in those mountains.

Breath deep and take it all in.   Cheers - Toad

LOL... All the very best for 2014 mate and the coming years.   :)

Google should refer to these views as "Helicopter Images" rather than "Satellite Images".

So next time one thinks they are viewing a Sat Image... think again.

The Images are more than likely from a helicopter/s...   8)
