The U.S. government's latest attempt to stop illegal immigrants crossing the border comes via the radio.

As part of a new multi-million dollar 'Dangers Awareness Campaign', the U.S. Customs and Border Protection campaign commissioned a catchy Spanish song to be written and produced to discourage families in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador from sending their children with smugglers to cross the U.S. border through Mexico.

That song - La Bestia - has subsequently become a major radio hit in Central America, with its legion of fans unaware it was created to 'teach' them something.

La Bestia - translated as 'The Beast' - refers to the notoriously dangerous freight train that migrants ride from Southern Mexico - risking robbery, kidnapping, rape, and murder - just to make it to the U.S. border, reports The Daily Beast.



Guess who commissioned "La Bestia," a Central American radio hit about the dangers of the journey to America?

"Migrants from everywhere, entrenched along the rail ties. Far away from where they come, further away from where they go," singer Eddie Ganz croons in Spanish over the Caribbean beat of the marimba, a wooden xylophone-like instrument from Guatemala.
"They call her the Beast from the South, this wretched train of death. With the devil in the boiler, whistles, roars, twists and turns."

What makes the tune somewhat propagandist is that it is played on regular rotation by radio stations without a disclaimer.

This means listeners have no idea it was tailored specifically to them by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

However those leading the campaign this an important detail.

They said people would not be open to the message otherwise.

Mexicans blame Americans for 'Death Train'

NEW YORK – The infamous Mexican "Death Train" – also called "La Bestia"

("The Beast") – on which tens of thousands of illegal alien children from Central America are traveling through Mexico to the United States – is being targeted by criminal complaints from Mexican authorities for allegedly violating the civil rights of passengers.

The Beast is owned and run by a Mexican wholly owned subsidiary of Kansas City Southern, a U.S. train company that acquired the Mexican equipment and routes in 2005 to create a "NAFTA Railroad" that was intended to fit into a multi-modal transportation technology

so Chinese companies could deliver products into the heartland of the United States as an alternative to utilizing the West Coast ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Mexican prosecutors have filed criminal complaints charging railroad with complicity in violations of the civil rights of the thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America illegally hitching rides on the train in their efforts to cross into the U.S. over the border with Mexico.

That flood has surged over the last few months, and critics of President Obama say it's being encouraged by his program to defer deportation proceedings for young illegal aliens, suggesting to them that if they are able to cross into the United States, housing, education, medical and even legal assistance await.

As reported at the time, Kansas City Southern (KCS, NYSE: KSU) completed on April 1, 2005, the acquisition of Mexican Railroad TFM, S.A. de C.V., an acquisition that gained for KCS all the common stock of Groupo Transportacion Ferrovaria Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., the holding company that owned TFM.

The 2005 KCS acquisition of the Mexican railroad occurred under the broad canopy of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, first announced by President George W. Bush in a meeting with the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Canada, held in Waco, Texas, on March 23, 2005.

In December 2005, KCS changed the name of TFM to Kansas City Southern de Mexico (KCSM), a key piece in putting together the "NAFTA Railroad," a marketing brand KCS at that time used to describe its North American rail service bringing together KCSM in Mexico and the Kansas City Southern Railroad (KCSR) in the United States.

In 2006, WND reported that Kansas City Southern plans in creating a "NAFTA Railroad" sought to link Mexican deep-water port Lazaro Cardenas as an alternative route for Chinese product shipping containers to enter the United States through Mexico, instead of through the West Coast ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

The plans would use KCSSM and KCS multi-modal railroad links to transport the Chinese consumer goods to a Mexican government customs office operated by Mexico as part of what then was being designed as the Kansas City Inland Port, or SmartPort.

But in a press report from Veracruz, Mexico, dated March 31, 2014, the attorney general of the Gulf Coast state of Veracruz, Luis Ángel Bravo Contreras, filed a criminal complaint with federal prosecutors against the U.S. railway Kansas City Southern and Ferrosur, a Mexican rail line that operates the "Death Train" in the central part of Mexico.

The charges are that the railroad companies were complicit in the commission of various crimes  against migrants jumping on the train for a ride to the Mexican border, including the crimes of robbery, human trafficking, kidnapping, murder and extortion.

A WOLA report issued June 17, 2014, described the difficulty illegal immigrants taking "La Bestia" north as follows:

"Migrants in the southern border zone are drawn to 'La Bestia,' the train that heads northward to central Mexico and then on to the U.S. border. For hundreds of miles they ride on the roofs of the train cars trying to avoid fatal falls, hot days, frigid nights, and low-clearance tunnels. Every eight to ten days or so, trains depart from two routes that originate near the southern border."

Not only is the ride physically dangerous, WOLA noted, but the lax security on "La Bestia" leaves migrants at the mercy of Mexican gangs, bandits, kidnapers and corrupt officials.

"The stunning frequency of kidnapping, extortion, human trafficking, rape, and homicide puts Central American migrants' plight in Mexico atop the list of the Western Hemisphere's worst humanitarian emergencies," the WOLA report concluded.




Mexican Train Derails, Stranding 1,300 Migrants Headed Toward U.S.

MEXICO CITY, July 9 (Reuters) - A cargo train used by Mexicans and Central Americans to travel toward the U.S. border derailed in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca on Wednesday, stranding about 1,300 migrants, emergency services said.??

Many of the migrants aboard were young people and nobody was injured when the train nicknamed "the Beast" came off the tracks, a spokesman for local emergency services said.??

Since last October, more than 50,000 unaccompanied minors, most from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, have been caught illegally crossing the southwest border of the United States.

MURRIETA BORDER PATROL USING SKYPE TO PROCESS ILLEGAL ALIENS

MURRIETA -- Murrieta Border Patrol agents have begun using online communication services, including Skype, to continue to process illegal aliens held in Texas detention centers.

Border Patrol sources told KFI Radio's Steven Gregory that Murrieta agents can process up to 25 people per shift, depending on the amount of staff in the Texas facilities. It is not immediately known if the station's shift in processing practices can be attributed to the protesters outside the Murrieta Border Patrol Station, who have succeeded in rerouting three rounds of buses full of illegal aliens to other facilities.

On Thursday, illegal aliens, all of them women and children, were transported to two San Bernardino-area churches; the St. Josephs's Catholic Church in Fontana, and the St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Rialto. The church has apparently provided "travel cash," food, and bus tickets for those immigrants taking long bus trips throughout the country.

"We were told that this would be going on through the month of July, but we are prepared to serve for however long we need to," Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino spokesman John Andrews told NBC Los Angeles.

Breaking: 46 Illegal Aliens Bused to Church in Fontana for Release

FONTANA -- 46 illegal aliens were temporarily sheltered at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, where they waited to be driven to bus stations after being released at around 6:45 p.m.
 
Although the immigrants' final travel destinations could not be confirmed, San Bernardino Diocese spokesman John Andrews told Breitbart News that the church provided "travel cash" to those headed on long journeys east toward New York or New Jersey.
 
Andrews also said the church was helping the illegal immigrants--32 children and 14 women--buy bus tickets, and helping them navigate the complex bus transportation system.
 
"The Catholic Church welcomed us," an immigrant named Bianca told CBS Los Angeles. "We are here, we are okay."

"The faith calls on us to do this," San Bernadino Diocese spokesperson John Andrews told Breitbart News. He said that the aliens would, in less than 24 hours, be driven from the church in individual cars to meet other church representatives, who are with the family members already living in the United States.

The "faith" also was responsible for the Crusades...

What a red herring...inferring that all these ILLEGALS have family members (most likely ILLEGAL ALIENS) in the United States. 

Meanwhile, protesters in Murrieta, who succeeded in turning around three rounds of buses of illegal aliens bound for the local Border Patrol station, waited all day for a new round of buses to come, but they never showed up. Border Patrol had announced on Wednesday afternoon that a flight carrying another 140 illegal aliens to San Diego scheduled for Thursday had been cancelled, as well as all future flights, although those same flights had resumed after being cancelled in the past.

One of the organizers of the Murrieta protests, Diana Serafin, told Breitbart News that protesters would remain outside the Border Patrol station for as long as necessary.

"We can't let our guard down now," she said.

Demonstrators remain on hand in Murrieta to prevent the buses from returning. Yet they have not been able to prevent the transfers themselves, which have been facilitated by the church as a humanitarian gesture.

The photo says it all: "HaHa...we're in and you can't do nothing about it."

Illegal aliens are expected to appear before court hearings, yet few do so.

Report: Tax Loophole Pays Out Billions in Tax Credits to Illegal Aliens | Video | TheBlaze.com

Billions of dollars in tax credits are being paid out to illegal immigrants because of a certain "undocumented worker" tax loophole, Indiana's WTHR-TV reports.

And, of course, it's all happening at the expense of the taxpayer.

"There is not a doubt in my mind there's huge fraud taking place here," a whistleblower told Eyewitness News on condition of anonymity, "We're talking about a multi-billion dollar fraud scheme here that's taking place and no one is talking about it."

So how does the alleged fraud work? It's a little convoluted but reporter Bob Segall walks you through the process:

The Internal Revenue Service says everyone who is employed in the United States – even those who are working here illegally – must report income and pay taxes. Of course, undocumented workers are not supposed to have a social security number.

So for them to pay taxes, the IRS created what's called an ITIN, an individual taxpayer identification number.

A 9-digit ITIN number issued by the IRS provides both resident and nonresident aliens with a unique identification number that allows them to file tax returns.

Each spring, at tax preparation offices all across the nation, many illegal immigrants are now eagerly filing tax returns to take advantage of a tax loophole, using their ITIN numbers to get huge refunds from the IRS.

The loophole is called the Additional Child Tax Credit. It's a fully-refundable credit of up to $1,000 per child, and it's meant to help working families who have children living at home.

And this is where the scheme kicks in: many illegal immigrant use the tax credit to claim children living in Mexico as dependents.

"We've seen sometimes 10 or 12 dependents, most times nieces and nephews, on these tax forms," the whistleblower told Eyewitness News. "The more you put on there, the more you get back."

According to Eyewitness, the whistleblower was able to provide proof of the scheme. For instance, he produced a return that shows a $10,3000 refund paid out to an "undocumented worker" who claimed nine nieces and nephews. Another return showed an $11,000 refund made to another "undocumented worker" who claimed seven nieces and nephews.

"I can bring out stacks and stacks. It's just so easy it's ridiculous," the anonymous source said.

A report released by George's office shows the problem costs taxpayers more than $4.2 billion each year.

Arizona town tries to protest away immigrant kids - CBS News

ORACLE, Ariz. - Protesters have begun gathering in a small town near Tucson after an Arizona sheriff said that the federal government plans to transport about 40 immigrant children to an academy for troubled youths.

Protesters on both sides of the debate showed up in Oracle. Anti-immigrant groups hoped to block the buses if they come, while pro-immigration advocates showed up to remind the migrants that they are welcome in the country.

The protest group has already been asked to move their vehicles from blocking the road, according to officials with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, who are on hand to provide security for the busload of children. PCSO is also saying the academy has increased their staff by 30 people to help with the children, reports CBS affiliate KOLD in Tucson.

Anger has been spreading in the town of Oracle since Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu warned residents last week that immigrant children from Central America caught crossing the border illegally would be placed at the Sycamore Canyon Academy in Oracle..

LA Times - Opposing immigration demonstrators kept 3 miles apart in Oracle, AZ

Demonstrations began Tuesday in the Arizona town of Oracle, the latest municipality trying to come to grips with the surge in children and women from Central America who have illegally crossed into the United States in record numbers, straining local patience and politics.

The demonstrations, both those in support and in opposition to the arrival of about 40 to 60 children to a local youth services facility in Oracle, near Tucson, began peacefully, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told the Los Angeles Times. He said there were about 150 people on each side of the issue in the town and that they were being kept three miles apart.

"I have personally spoken to both groups and both groups have yelled at me," Babeu said. "We have enough deputies here and there is a wonderful three-mile distance separating them."

Babeu, who has spoken out against illegal immigration and in favor of stepped up security at the border, said the buses with the children are expected to arrive around midday, heading to Sycamore Canyon Academy. He was especially critical of federal officials who have not returned his calls for information about the arrival, nor has anyone been willing to discuss the overall policy of moving the children inland from the border, he said.

"I have enough problems with drugs and I don't need any more on immigrants compliments of President Obama,' the sheriff said.

The protests in Oracle follow demonstrations in Murrieta, Calif., where locals blocked buses carrying immigrant children who were en route for processing. But the issue of how to deal with the children has sparked protests and discussions in town governments from Texas to Michigan and from the West Coast to Maryland in the East.

Local officials complain that they are not being kept informed about the arrival of immigrants in their states.

"We want to know the names of those individuals, who their sponsor is," Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman told reporters over the weekend.

"Is their sponsor legal?

What communities did you send them to?

Why are they conducting a secret operation, essentially, transporting them all over the country ... and the federal government won't tell us what's going on."

There is also the question of who will pick up the tab and whether the immigrants will be a drain on the local tax base.

Illegal immigrants are people like us in many ways, and while they have human rights they do not have American civil rights because they are criminals who have broken our laws and disrespected our nation and citizens.

These criminal illegal immigrants either overstay their visas or they enter America covertly, including paying violent drug smuggling organized crime cartels and their coyotes to sneak them into our nation under cover of darkness, showing us they cannot be trusted to obey our laws and respect American workers and taxpayers, IMHO.

Illegal is illegal.

Having spent a fair a amount of time in Mexico and various other 'South of the Border' countries, we can readily testify that the Mexican Federal Police would not put up with any such nonsense should one wander across the line.

California Catholic Diocese Bypasses City, Purchases Building to House Obama Illegals

The separation of church and state has been eliminated under the Obama White House. The realtionship between the federal government in Washington DC and church groups goes a lot deeper than just politicking and garnering votes – it's financial.

Aside from the central role that large organisatons like Catholic Charities USA have played in endorsing the DREAM Act and backing the deferral of action against some younger immigrants, it's also been found that billions of dollars have been paid out to hundreds of Catholic and Baptist "charities" in grant money in exchange for political support of these White House agenda items.

Between Dec 2010 and Nov 2013, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Galveston received $15,549,078 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for "Unaccompanied Alien Children Project" with a program description of "Refugee and Entry Assistance."

Last year, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth received $350,000 from Department of Homeland Security for "citizenship and education training" with a program description of "citizenship and immigration services."

Between September 2010 and September 2013, the Catholic Charities of Dallas received $823,658 from the Department of Homeland Security for "Citizenship Education Training" for "refugee and entrant assistance."

From Dec 2012 to January 2014, Baptist Child & Family Services received $62,111,126 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for "Unaccompanied Alien Children Program."

CHINO, CA – The Diocese of San Bernardino is considering housing Central American refugees at a Chino property belonging to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

But that's not going to happen, according to Chino Mayor Dennis Yates.

The diocese has been in conversation with church pastor Fr. Mike Gilsenan this week about the possibility of housing up to 75 women and children for 24 to 48 hours at Chino and East End avenues in Chino.

The ministry center, purchased by the diocese in 2011, is located at the site of the former Hillview Acres children's home. Its cottages, meeting room, kitchen and cafeteria are used for Confirmation retreats. The offices will be used for meetings and other activities when work is completed.

St. Paul the Apostle is located in Chino Hills on Peyton Drive.

"Our role is to provide transition centers to receive these brothers and sisters after they are legally processed by the federal government," said diocesan spokesman John Andrews. "St. Paul the Apostle has beautiful facilities, so it was a natural thought for us to look into it."

Mr. Andrews said the Chino site would function as a transition center manned by volunteers who would distribute food and clothing, help the refugees locate relatives, and assist with transportation costs.

Mayor Yates said he found out about the proposal Tuesday through an anonymous phone call.

The mayor said St. Paul the Apostle holds a special conditional use permit issued by the City of Chino for the ministry center that does not allow . . .

GMN – Murrieta, CA - In an exclusive expose regarding the immigration standoff in Murrieta, California, it was revealed by a confidential informant inside the Murrieta U.S. Border Patrol facility that the real reason buses stopped delivering illegal immigrants was due to a virtual mutiny within the U.S. Border Patrol ranks. 

GMN investigative journalists conducted a recorded telephone interview with a highly credible and prominent Murrieta community leader on Sunday July 14, where it was revealed that frontline U.S. Border Patrol agents threatened to stand down if the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) executed a plan to use force upon protestors if they impeded buses transporting undocumented immigrants into the Murrieta processing facility.

"Most of the Border Patrol agents here at this facility are residents of Murrieta, and when they found out that the DHS was going to come in with riot gear, the agents declared that they would not obey any unlawful orders which violate the Constitutional rights of peaceful protestors", said the informant.

"Our contact inside the U.S. Border Patrol told us that we do not even realize how impactful the protest was...

it was a shot heard around the world...

all the way back to Guatemala, Mexico, and not just the U.S. Government... the influx of immigrants coming over the border has decreased from 1500 per day down to 800 per day... cut almost in half as a direct result of what we've done."

The front line U.S. Border Patrol agents are essentially refusing to perform any unconstitutional act upon the protesters, and they let their intentions be known to their superiors.

As a result, the Department of Homeland Security could not proceed with delivery of another busload of illegal immigrants to Murrieta due to the lack of support from Murrieta Police Officers, as well as Border Patrol agents – who are steadfast in upholding their oath to defend and support the Constitution of the United States.

On June 23, 2014, local residents of Murrieta California express their will to prohibit the U.S. Government's lawless policy of transporting and dumping immigrants who are being allowed into the United States without proper documentation to verify they do not have a known criminal history; processing immigrants without proper medical screening; accepting busloads of immigrants at overcrowded facilities without regard to capacity, as well as dumping of unlawfully admitted immigrants in communities all over the United States.

The Border Patrol whistleblower has also expressed his concern about retaliation by the U.S. Government for his willingness to speak out about unlawful and unconstitutional activity he has observed on the inside.

He has asked that whistleblowers receive legal protection from retaliation by the U.S. Government, and that Congress conduct public hearings to investigate wrongdoing by the U.S. Government in this border crisis.

"My contact has pleaded with community leaders to reach out to our local Congressman and demand Congressional inquiry. We also need to hold our local Sheriff accountable for his gross Constitutional negligence... he was nowhere to be found, and he's the top law enforcement official in the County.

The Sheriff potentially jeopardized the lives and safety of our local residents, as well as the Murrieta Police and U.S. Border Patrol Agents if the DHS came in with force", stated the confidential informant."

Based on the information coming to us confidentially from insiders associated with the Murrieta standoff, we believe that the people of Murrieta stopped the U.S. Government's human trafficking scheme in its tracks.

The residents stopped DHS buses with determination and resolve, and we are now learning that Guatemala and Mexico are suffering extreme embarrassment for their lack of accountability.

Glenn Beck on Tuesday announced that he will be bringing tractor-trailers full of food, water, teddy bears and soccer balls to McAllen, Texas on July 19 as a way to help care for some of the roughly 60,000 underage refugees who have crossed into America illegally in 2014.

Beck said he will be joined by Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), and a number of pastors and rabbis.

"Through no fault of their own, they are caught in political crossfire," Beck said of the children. "And while we continue to put pressure on Washington and change its course of lawlessness, we must also help. It is not either, or. It is both. We have to be active in the political game, and we must open our hearts."

Beck said that "everybody" told him not to talk about other controversial issues, like the caliphate, in the past, and that he is hearing the same thing about his stance that we must care for the children who have crossed into America illegally.

"Everybody is telling me I'm seeing subscriptions down; I'm seeing Mercury One donations down," Beck said, growing emotional. "I'm getting violent emails from people who say I've 'betrayed the Republic.'

Whatever.

I've never taken a position more deadly to my career than this — and I have never, ever taken a position that is more right than this."

"We're going to fill some tractor-trailers with food, with water," Beck said. "The churches have asked us if we could bring teddy bears and soccer balls, so we've loaded up a whole tractor-trailer of nothing but teddy bears and soccer balls. And then I'm going to go serve breakfast and lunch, and I'm going to help unload these trucks, hot meals for 3,000. That's what we're doing."

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz confirmed Thursday that he will be joining Glenn Beck and Mercury One at the border in McAllen, Texas, on Saturday to feed, clothe, and provide toys for illegal immigrant children.

Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the senator, told TheBlaze in an email: "Tens of thousands of children are being smuggled into the United States by dangerous drug cartels and transnational gangs – it is heartless to allow that to continue."

"But while we work to reverse the policies that have caused this tragedy, it is important we recognize the human element of this crisis, and Sen. Cruz is glad to join Glenn Beck and Mercury One in that effort to provide some relief from the suffering this administration is causing," Frazier continued.

Joe Kerry, president of Mercury One, added: "Mercury One is blessed to have both Glenn Beck and Senator Ted Cruz participate in our border relief effort."

Cruz will join fellow lawmaker Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) in McAllen. Others who have voiced support for the cause include Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and famed rocker Ted Nugent.

Rock legend Ted Nugent revealed a "hidden secret" on Glenn Beck's radio program Wednesday that he says the media has kept hidden for 26 years: he and other hunters donate roughly 250 million meals each year through programs like Hunters for the Hungry.

"We process and we cook and distribute 250 million hot meals of pure, nutritious, low-fat, low-cholesterol, wild organic venison," Nugent said. "250 million meals a year, Glenn."

"That's one of the most staggering facts I have ever heard, that I have never heard," Beck responded. "That's absolutely crazy that's not out there."

"The propaganda ministry hates me, hates hunters, hates freedom, hates private property rights," Nugent said. "We have so many deer in this country — more than ever in recorded history."

As Beck prepares to go to the border on Saturday to feed and clothe illegal immigrant children.  Nugent said he and his "protein soldiers" will come and help.

"I've got my Uncle Ted protein soldiers on standby down in Texas," Nugent remarked. "We will bring down the most wonderful, healthy protein, wild game venison, the ultimate burgers and goulash and spaghetti. ... We will feed the kids like we do to our fellow Americans, 250 million meals a year. It's awesome."

Nugent said he is proud to stand "shoulder to shoulder" with Beck.

"If there's a specific church or a specific soup kitchen or shelter we can bring in unbelievable pure venison, we're ready to rock," Nugent remarked. "I've got my soldiers on standby, loaded with meat!"

But while the famed rocker will feed those in need, he, like Beck, remains adamant that those who are here illegally must be returned to their home countries.

"They are here illegally; we need to send them back," Nugent said. "Secure our borders and enforce the law."

Nugent isn't the only high-profile donation Mercury One, Beck's charity, has received.

On Monday, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly also voiced support for Beck's efforts to care for the illegal immigrant children at the border, saying he would make a donation.

"I'm going to send you a donation, because I believe what you're doing is correct," O'Reilly remarked.

URGENT: Mexican Cartel Hitman Captured on US Soil After Committing a "Hit"

Much media attention on the current U.S. border crisis has focused on the humanitarian plight of the thousands of unaccompanied minors and young, pregnant mothers crossing the border.

That is not inappropriate, even though these make up only about 20 percent of the flood of illegal immigrants currently entering the U.S.

Less is known about the other 80 percent. Some, no doubt, are hard-working men and women in search a better life unavailable to them at home.

Others, however, are not, and in viewing the border situation only as a humanitarian crisis–which it is–Americans risk losing sight of the fact that a security crisis also exists.

Now, the arrest of Jose Guadalupe "Lupe" Garza Ochoa, an alleged hit man for the Gulf Cartel, on U.S. soil has brought to light a story of cross-border drug dealing, theft, kidnapping, and murder that illustrates just how much of a threat the criminal cartels are to American security.

Sometime in the spring of 2011, unknown individuals stole a large cocaine shipment that belonged to Gulf Cartel commander Miguel "Gringo Mike" Villarreal – so named for being born in the United States – who ordered his top hitmen to go into Texas.

The hitmen were ordered to either recover the 331 pounds of cocaine that had been stolen out of Villarreal's ranch in the Mission-Alton area or find the thieves, court records from the other defendants in the case show.

Villarreal gave his team a list of men to capture and take back to Mexico.

Using the ranch as a staging area, the gunmen recruited other members in the U.S. side of the border and rode around in convoys with assault weapons and grenades looking for their targets. It was during that time in early May 2011 that the gunmen including, Garza, went twice after Felipe Guerra–one of the suspected thieves–but were not able to capture him, the criminal complaint filed by the FBI and obtained by Breitbart Texas shows.

The cartel hitmen set their sights on another man in their list, Gerado "Lin" Olivarez, the victim's cousin.

On May 28, 2011 the convoy of gunmen drove two Jeep Commanders and a Ford F-150 to Olivarez's home where they had one gunman in a police uniform with a Beretta 92 model handgun at his waist pretend to arrest their target over unpaid traffic tickets.

Instead of taking Olivarez who wasn't home at the time, the gunmen kidnapped Guerrero who had arrived at the house to pay his cousin a visit.

The gunmen took Guerrero to the ranch where they tortured him only to find out that he was the wrong man and wasn't involved in drug trafficking.

Despite the error, the group moved Guerrero to Rio Grande City, roughly an hour's drive east also along on the border, where Garza used his girlfriend's car to move a bloody Guerrero across into the Mexican city of Camargo.

From there, cartel hitmen moved Garza back to Reynosa where the Gulf Cartel boss called Gringo Mike had him executed, even though he was the wrong man.

Three four-wheel drive vehicles carrying gunmen with "assault weapons and grenades" violated American territory, kidnapped an innocent citizen, removed him from the country, and murdered him.


The story sounds so much like a movie plot that it's hard to imagine it truly happening on American soil.

Needless to say, a secure border, while perhaps not preventing such a crime, would certainly have made it more difficult to accomplish.

Perhaps more importantly, a secure border would discourage the drug smuggling that supports the Gulf Cartel in the first place, perhaps avoiding the scenario altogether.

The humanitarian aspects of Obama's border crisis deserve the full attention of the warmhearted, generous American people. But the security aspects deserve no less.
