Russian Scientist: World Facing 'Mini-Ice Age' Rather Than Global Warming
http://en.ria.ru/world/20140919/193093969/Russian-Scientist-World-Facing-Mini-Ice-Age-Rather-Than-Global.html

"ST. PETERSBURG, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - The world will soon witness a "mini-ice age" rather than global warming, as solar output has been declining in recent years, a Russian scientist told RIA Novosti Friday.
"During the past 17 years global temperatures have not been rising, temperatures have stabilized. There has been no warming since 1997. The power of solar irradiance has decreased consistently since 1990 and is still rapidly declining. Since 1990, the Sun has not been warming the Earth as in the past," said Habibullo Abdussamatov, an astrophysicist and head of space research at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory.
According to Abdussamatov, our planet may enter what he calls "a mini-ice age" at the beginning of next year."

I'd like to come in from the cold now.

Sir:

Hope you have a LARGE supply of firewood for this coming winter in America.

Or a Plan B for the usual gas/fuel oil shortage or intentional disruption so as to force the population into 'warming camps.'

Right after Martial Law is declared and they come for the guns.    ;D

hey Thor..is that you ..?     ?

you pulling a hutch on us and going trans..?

Rush Limbaugh been saying for years that global temps are dropping, not increasing; makes you wonder why they did the seed survival vault, eh?

I have also been advocating for years to have supplies for your family members and loved ones to hand along with an up to date "zombie" plan"...

we don't normally get snow here in the part of ga I live in, few and far between yet last year we got blasted twice, once in January and 2 weeks later in Feb;

better to be prepped than found wanting and in need of...

Greetings Mr Seeker:

We seem to remember something like that... ;)

Cold mail.

Our lovely two-story house is somewhere behind the conifers.   :P

Even Amy enjoys the snow.

Our favorite eatery: Louie's on the Lake on Lake Rabun.

And yes, we have oodles and oodles of firewood,
not only for personal use, but for sharing with those in need.    ;)

Yep, that does look familiar, brother Thor  8)

I myself am in squirrel mode, storing for cold weather in case we do have that encounter again...

the problem is most peeps around here don't have a clue as to what preps would be prudent or even where to start...

or how to cook or have fresh drinking water if the power goes out  :o

You have me at a disadvantage, sir.
But I'll do my best to keep up.

PS
- I want answers. But I don't even know the right questions to ask. Sadly.

An ice-age would be a welcome relief from the hellish heat wave I had to endure where I live.

Zorgon has been saying for years that global warming will TRIGGER the next ice age...

Zorgon has posted several times the results of the Vostok Ice Core readings

Watch the move "The Day After Tomorrow"

Yes they exaggerate but the MECHANISM they show is 100% accurate

Global warming, a NATURAL cycle (see graph above)  causes ice melt. This in turn changes the salininity of sea water and that changes ocean current.  That in turn triggers super cell storms that bring down the cold for the next ice age

LOOK at the graph  The change is QUICK  over a 20-50 year sudden change. And the Earth has more cold periods than it does warm spells

That is why I moved to Vegas  well BELOW the last mega ice age maximum reach.  Yes we have food stock, blankets and lots of firewood... but a drop in temp down here would be welcome as we are still seeing 100F during the day

ever seen the movie "the day after tomorrow" or read the coming global superstorm?

ETA: seems we posted at the same time with the same thought, Z...

Well question #1  Is Global warming real?

Answer: Yes it is but its NOT man made. Our puny efforts at climate control are not enough to affect what is happening in the solar system let alone on earth. And no cow farts are not responsible either. One volcano like Krakatoa puts out as much greenhouse gas as all of Washington   errrr mankind  :P for the past 1000 years

People forget the oxygen cycle  More CO2 means more trees grow (and more algae in particular) and they produce oxygen scrubbing the air

People forget that the Ozone Cycle is part of this system and that the holes at the poles are NATURAL because there is no direct sunlight at the poles to create ozone

People forget that sea ice would NOT raise the water level when it melts. (land ice might a little) because ice is BIGGER as a solid than water  Try it at home with ice cubes in a bowl

zorgon

I would strongly recommend you all watch that Movie "The Day After Tomorrow"

The scientists tries to warn them about the change in the ocean current. They cover the weird weather... and they show exactly HOW a super cell storm is created and causes the ice age in literally a few hours

Anyone that has ever felt the icy cold down draft of a super cell thunderstorm where temps drop in minutes and create hail the size of oranges will know what I mean

Don't forget that they found Mammoth's frozen in the ice still chewing their last meal. THAT is a key point

Watch the movie  you will get a better idea

We seem to remember something like that... ;)

I used to love snow  Skiing most every weekend, Ice Sailing on Lake Ontario

Then I got old   :P

Odd thing happened in the 70's  It got WARM  Toronto Harbour used to freeze solid  so solid you could drive an oil tanker over it... then suddenly it got warm  and has never frozen since

You can still see it in the old photos and post cards

As a kid I remember crossing to the Island via ice breaker ferry. The snow was heavy and they had ice melting machines   Then suddenly one Jan it warmed up and has not frozen over since

So I take it you still have your land Thor? Have not had an update since the Carp Slinging started
::)

Sgt.Rocknroll

All you have to do is watch the wasp.

Learned this from my country grandma.

If wasp build their nest high in the spring, you'll have a moderate winter.

If they build them low in the spring, you'll have a very cold winter.

Works every time.

This year they've been very low to the ground.

Hence cold winter.

Man ain't got nothing to do with it. And that movie was all about how man failed to act, hence ice age. Baloney!
