I was the amateur astronomer nee satellite tracker who spotted the then secret X37 space plane, "forcing" NASA to release it on space weather!  I was the first to characterize its ability to produce bright visual flares!

Censor me if you wish, I really don't care, it will just prove that you have to retreat to a forum where you can censor the discussion in order to save your face while hurling insults at "morons" like me.  I said to John Lear that there were no secret space stations being visited by the shuttle as he claimed.  I would have seen them, I used to track the orbiters just as I tracked the X-37B.  You admitted yourself (accidentally) that I exposed the secret X-37B space plane on space weather.  So where are John Lear's secret space stations the shuttle used to visit on the way to and from ISS?  Yeah, right, crickets.  Now censor away you moron, turnabout is fair play. 

By the way, NASA now calls on me for help when one of their satellites goes awry.  Just this morning I tracked an ailing tiny cubesat deployed from ISS a couple weeks ago after a JPL guy called me up and asked me if I could do it for them.

Trying to distract from the fact that you called me a moron without even realizing I was the very person who exposed the very information you claimed I was contradicting?  No one, and I mean no one claims that I or anyone else can track "ALL" potential impactors before they hit, particularly small ones like that, particularly if they come from the direction of the sun.  So you can take that red herring and shove it.

Find?  No.  Track?  Well, a former JPL guy (he just got a job high up on the Giant Magellan Telescope project) asked me as a favor for one of his friends over there at NASA.  They wanted to know whether the solar arrays deployed and whether it's spinning out of control.  They know where it is, but they needed me to track it to see what state its in.  They can't get good communication with the satellite which is what they would usually rely on for that information.  Could they use one of their telescopes to track it?  Probably, after spending a few weeks getting through the bureaucracy bullcrap and spending way more money than is necessary writing code and procedures to optically track the satellite and pay some unionized technician overtime to come in on a weekend and do it when the equipment's not otherwise engaged.  Or they can just ask me if I'm willing and able to do it for them and maybe send me a check at the end if they feel like it.

You're so predictable. The trajectory taken by Apollo avoided the most intense parts of the Van Allen belts. 

Using SPENVIS, here is the dose expected for an Apollo astronaut sitting inside an Apollo spacecraft with about 7-8 g/cm^2 areal density on the trajectory taken by Apollo to the moon:

That dose isn't dangerous at all.

With that said, you cannot send astronauts on an Apollo command module through the same region on the same trajectory as Orion EFT-1 without risking the astronauts developing mild symptoms of radiation poisoning.  When the engineer in that video says that they still have to learn how to travel safely through "this region" of space he means that quite literally as it applies to Orion EFT-1; Apollo didn't pass through the region of space traveled by Orion EFT-1.  Orion EFT-1 traveled thousands of kilometers high right over the equator, right into the intense equatorial region of the inner Van Allen belt, which is a very different trajectory than Apollo.

Here is the expected dose if you were to send Apollo astronauts in an Apollo command module on the same trajectory as Orion EFT-1's final orbit:

Nearly 30 rads of radiation.  At that dose you are approaching the threshold at which you may start to exhibit mild symptoms of radiation poisoning according to the CDC:

Still won't kill you, but it might just make you sick if you fly Orion EFT-1's trajectory with the older Apollo capsule.  The electronics on that capsule were less susceptible to radiation though.  Computers were also in charge of a lot less of the Apollo spacecraft, and were built using core memory that generally could not experience a "bit flip" due to radiation the way modern memory chips do.
