I was wondering what the Model Plane and paints were about... thinking that you had took a photo of yourself at your PC while making model planes with one covering your face and uploaded it.. :)
It's been a long time since I made my last model plane, and my Spitfire has a different paint scheme. :)

QuoteI do recall Adrian Mole, but never really watched it..or could recall it very well...but I thought that  I may have seen the face somewhere before..

and I did know that they showed it in Portugal ! :)
During the 70s and 80s, most TV series that were aired in Portugal came from the UK, while most movies came from the US.

Quotebut I found those few minutes of my initial thoughts very funny ! :D
Funny is good. :)

That's because it was made by me, on this site.

Quoteand what does ArMaP stand for anyway?
It's made from parts of my name, that's why it has capital letters in strange places. :)

That does surprise me....I thought Spain / Portugal would have had  a lot of their own Countries TV series..

Would they have been from both BBC and ITV series and programmes ?

ArMaP did show his Avatar website once before, but I don't think when I looked ,that I could find the same combination to create the same type of Avatar as ArMaP....

Was it from some past TV program...character  on the Simpson's or similar ?

I don't know about Spain, but Portugal only had two state channels until 1992, and national production of TV for the state channels shows was mostly limited to news and musical/comedy shows based on "revista à portuguesa", Portuguese version of the French "revue". During the 80s some companies appeared and started creating their own soap operas, and Portuguese TV is now mostly based on those and British or American series and movies.

One difference between Spain and Portugal is that in Spain they dub the foreign shows, while in Portugal we only do that to children shows, everything else is subtitled (that's how I learned English, by hearing the original talk and reading the translation).

Yes, and I also remember names like "Anglia" and "London Weekend Television".

My avatar was made with parts from that site, I only made some small alterations in the avatar's clothes. In fact, I only noticed now that I still have on Pegasus my winter avatar, so I will change it to my summer avatar. :)

Do you remember Central Television?  The studios are/were about a mile from me.

This was a Central Television show.

ArMaP

I don't remember "Central Television", but I do remember Spitting Image, not from watching it, as it wasn't one of the shows that was aired in Portugal, but from reading about it and from the Genesis video "Land of Confusion".

A Portuguese company decided to create a similar show and went to the UK to learn how to make the puppets. The first ones were not that good, but starting with the second season they got them much better and the show got some success, during for some years.

East Midlands.  Still pretty near when you consider the size of the planet.

QuoteThe satirical puppet show was produced for Central TV and aired on the ITV network from 1984 to 1996.

The first series was recorded at Central's studios in Birmingham.

Subsequent series were made at Central's Nottingham studios.
