When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come." I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.— Revelation 6:7-8 NASB

Congo's Ebola crisis threatens to spiral out of control
PBS NewsHour

More than 1,100 people have died from Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite information campaigns, new treatment facilities that reduce disease transmission and an effective new vaccine, the outbreak is spreading because of ongoing violence and residents' deep distrust of government. Nick Schifrin talks to International Rescue Committee's David Miliband about the growing crisis.

"Transmission is growing exponentially."
Doctors say they're terrified by the spread of the worst-ever Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
More than 1,100 people have died since August.
1,760 cases have been reported; a fifth of them in the past month alone.
This is the tenth Ebola outbreak in DR Congo since the disease was discovered there more than 40 years ago.
Aid workers are calling for money and protection after three people were killed in an attack on a treatment centre last week.
The World Health Organization has recorded at least 119 attacks on health workers since the start of the year.
Why is the country being repeatedly hit by the disease?
And why are health workers not getting enough help?

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are described in the last book of the New Testament of the Bible, the Book of Revelation by John of Patmos, at 6:1–8. The chapter tells of a book or scroll in God's right hand that is sealed with seven seals. The Lamb of God opens the first four of the seven seals, which summons four beings that ride out on white, red, black, and pale horses.
The prophecy describes a period of time when a quarter of the population of the earth would be killed by a combination of wars, famine and disease. The prophecy describes the causes as
1) a conquering people whose weapon was the bow "I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest."
2) a people engaged in constant war "Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword."
3) high food prices leading to famine "before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!" and
4) disease " I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him.". These four are then summed up as follows "They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by the sword (war), famine, and plague and by the wild beasts of the earth". The sword refers to the first 2 horsemen, famine to the 3rd, and plague and beasts of the earth to the 4th.[1]
Though theologians and popular culture differ on the first Horseman, the four riders are often seen as symbolizing Conquest[2] or Pestilence (and less frequently, the Christ or the Antichrist), War,[3] Famine,[4] and Death.[5] The Christian apocalyptic vision is that the Four Horsemen are to set a divine apocalypse upon the world as harbingers of the Last Judgment.[2][6] One reading ties the Four Horsemen to the history of the Roman Empire subsequent to the era in which the Book of Revelation was written as a symbolic prophecy.[7]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdp5pOCAKRw

Only 15 people developed Ebola more than 10 days after being vaccinated, the report said. Seven of them were health-care workers. Nearly 29,000 health-care and front-line workers were among the roughly 90,000 vaccinated between last August and March 25, the time period covered by the report..."

HOW DID 90K 'VACCINATED' PEOPLE GET POSITIVELY EXPOSED TO THE VIRUS ?
The WHO report explains it better.
They used what they call "ring vaccination", in which they identify people that got in contact with Ebola patients and then they identify people that were in contact with those in direct contact. They identified 100,754 persons and got consent to give them the vaccine from 91,492.

I doubt it spreads through the air, the infection rate would be much higher.
But it could spread through the air from other animals to humans, as experiments have shown that infected pigs get more virus in their lungs than in their blood and so they can transmit it through breathing, coughing, etc. The virus spread that way can infect primates, but they do not say which primates can be infected and humans are also primates.

Hi ArMaP, eventually it will mutate into a form of the virus that will spread by aerosol.

Every time there is an outbreak you are looking at a mutation.

Every time there is an outbreak you are looking at a mutation.
That's usually true, but those are small mutations, only small enough for the antibodies that "learned" out to fight the old "version" of the virus not be able to recognise the new "version".
To change from being able to live mostly in the blood to living in the lungs, like happens when the host is a pig, I suppose a big change is needed, as that behaviour is probably related to the a specific characteristic of the pig that is not present in primates.
I worked at Fort Detrick from 1974-1975 at the East Coast Telecommunications facility on the north east side of Detrick.

Daniel Horowitz · June 3, 2019
There are 88 nations where the per capita GDP is lower than that of Guatemala, which stands at $4,471 as of 2017. That is likely well over one billion people living in similar or worse conditions than those coming to our border today, primarily from Central America. As such, it's no surprise that
once our government telegraphed the message to the world that our sovereignty no longer matters when someone invades with a child, people are now coming in large numbers from all over the world, including from the most disease-prone countries in Africa.
While Africans have been trickling over our border in recent months, on Friday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that "the first large group of people from Africa" were apprehended in the Del Rio sector of Texas. In total, 116 individuals were apprehended in this African caravan on Thursday morning, including 35 from Angola, one from Cameroon, and 80 from Congo.

U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Del Rio Sector in Texas apprehended a large group of 116 people who illegally crossed the border May 30, 2019 near the Del Rio point of entry.
The group was comprised of people from West Africa, including Congo (80), Angola (35) and Cameroon (1).
Agents apprehended the group at 10:30 p.m. local time and are processing and medically screening them.
This is the 181st large group encountered so far this year. A "large group" is defined by 100 or more people who illegally cross the border together. This demonstrates that the global migration, at this pace, will be a bottomless pit, because even if we eventually empty out the northern triangle of Central America, there are unlimited regions in the world where poverty is pervasive and from which people will travel to seek the de facto amnesty being offered.
The per capita GDPs for Angola, Cameroon, and Congo are $4,247, $1,452, and $2,147 respectively – all below that of Guatemala. Would-be African migrants have so far largely lacked the family and friend ties the Central American and Mexican immigrants have after years of illegal immigration from those countries. Once the seeds from these newer countries are planted, there is nothing stopping the illegal immigrant chain migration phenomenon from spreading to other parts of the globe in the coming years.
But when it comes to countries like Congo, there is an entirely new dimension of concern – dangerous contagious diseases. While the problems of mumps, tuberculosis, scabies, and chicken pox from Central America are bad enough, the influx of African migrants takes the concern of contagious diseases to an entirely new level.
Congo is experiencing the worst Ebola outbreak in recent memory, with over 1,300 fatalities since last August. The Ebola virus is extremely deadly, and there are no vaccinations or reliable treatments for it. While CBP noted that the group of Africans was given a medical screening, the challenge with Ebola is that the initial symptoms are often unremarkable, such as such as fever, headache, and weakness, and are therefore difficult to diagnose shortly after the infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
In fact, according to the CDC,
"When someone gets infected with Ebola, they will not show signs or symptoms of illness right away."VIDEO134 Central Americans Enter Near Sasabe, Arizona (https://www.dvidshub.net/video/685925/134-central-americans-enter-near-sasabe-ariz)

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Ajo Station encountered 364 migrants after they illegally entered the country and surrendered to agents west of Lukeville, Arizona this morning.
Camera operators with the Border Patrol spotted the multitude of people after multiple buses arrived south of the international border approximately 14 miles west of the Port of Lukeville. Border Patrol agents watched as the group exited the buses and walked under a vehicle barrier that delineates the international boundary."...multiple buses..." ???
WTF ?
Mexico is clearly aiding and abetting this illegal operation.
REMEMBER THE ALAMO?The group, consisting of 364 individuals, mostly family units from Central America, was similar to the previous groups that have recently crossed the southwest border. Ajo Border Patrol agents quickly worked to determine if any members of the group needed medical attention, and then began to transport the group for processing. National Park Service employees from the Organ Pipe National Park assisted agents at the site of the crossing. Additional Border Patrol assets from around the Tucson sector were diverted to provide humanitarian, transportation, and processing assistance for the large group.
CBP is facing an alarming trend in in the rising volume of people illegally crossing our Southwest Border. The arriving flow is made up primarily of Central American families and unaccompanied children. This stark and increasing shift to more vulnerable populations, combined with the overwhelming numbers, and inadequate capacity to detain families and children has created a humanitarian and border security crisis. The increase in apprehensions is taxing the entire immigration system, especially the capabilities of ICE and CBP, creating an untenable situation for both CBP personnel and migrants.
With family units being released within days, often within hours, how can our government be certain that Americans, not to mention Border Patrol and local health officials, are not being put in danger?
This is why the law (8 U.S.C. § 1222(a)) requires the government to detain all migrants "for a sufficient time to enable the immigration officers and medical officers to subject such aliens to observation and an examination sufficient to determine whether or not they belong to inadmissible classes." This was for all migrants. It was always presumed that we would never take in people from specific countries that were experiencing deadly epidemics.
I asked CBP's press office whether CBP has a different protocol for dealing with migrants from Congo or other African countries with risk of diseases, such as not releasing the migrants as immediately as Central Americans. A CBP spokesperson replied that "the process is the same, officers and agents review all individuals they come in contact with for signs of illness and notify CDC as needed."
Again, Ebola and many other illnesses are not apparent through immediate symptoms, and most of these aliens are not held long enough to fulfill the dictates of § 1222(a) given the incubation period required. It's quite shocking that country of origin would not play a role in either making these aliens inadmissible or prohibiting their release from detention.

CBP did confirm that contrary to some internet rumors, as of today, there have been no confirmed cases of Ebola at the border. The country of Cameroon is on Congo's western border, and its migrants should also be a concern to us. According to the CDC, Cameroon is experiencing a measles outbreak, along with the long-standing problems of many other diseases, such as yellow fever, hepatitis, malaria, and typhoid. The same measles outbreak is also in Angola, which borders Congo to the south.
However, even Angola has shut its border to Congo in light of the Ebola outbreak. Yet, the United States has evidently not shut its border to Congo. It is quite shocking the Trump administration has not included Congo on the travel ban list in light of the concern of Ebola and other diseases.
The president has unilateral authority to shut off any or all immigration, even legal immigration, and refuse to process any asylum claims (even legitimate ones) when he determines that the migration is "detrimental" to U.S. interests. If the crime, drugs, poverty, and empowerment of the cartels are not reason enough to do so, one would think the public health concern would be more than sufficient.

Pale horseThe fourth horseman is described as riding a pale horse. His named is specifically referred to as "Death." The text reads: "I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, 'Come!' I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth (Rev. 6:7-8)
The pale color of the fourth horse is thought to represent fear, sickness, decay, and death. The word used to describe the color of the pale horse is the Greek word chloros, or green. It is meant to convey the sickly green tinge of the deathly ill or recently dead. Since the literal translation does not carry these connotations in English. the word is rendered "pale" in most English translations.Pig Ebola outbreak in South-East Asia (https://www.facebook.com/MetroUK/videos/649464235517036/)

"Pig Ebola" is spreading uncontrollably in China and Vietnam (https://www.vox.com/2019/6/6/18655460/china-african-swine-fever-pig-ebola)
It's an unprecedented outbreak of a virus that's deadly to pigs.
By Vox Staff Jun 6, 2019, 6:00pm EDT
"This is the biggest animal disease outbreak we've ever had on the planet..."
An outbreak of African swine fever, a highly contagious disease that's been called "Pig Ebola," is ravaging Asia's pig industry with no signs of letting up.
The current outbreak of the virus, which kills almost all animals it infects, began in China in August. Since then, some 22 percent of the country's pig herd has been lost to the disease and to culling, Christine McCracken, an animal protein expert at Rabobank, told Vox.
The disease, which was discovered a century ago in Kenya, is particularly deadly to pigs because it spreads easily and
there is no treatment or vaccine. The only way for pig producers to prevent it is to kill all animals that have been infected or potentially exposed, or to put strict biosecurity measures in place.
Officials in China have tried in vain to get the outbreak under control to protect the country's roughly 440 million pigs, which make up more than half of all pigs on earth. So far, it says it has culled 1.2 million pigs, putting thousands of small producers out of business. McCracken and others say that is a significant underestimate.
By the end of the year, she estimates China may lose as many as 200 million pigs. That's an astonishingly high number, considering that a single pig can produce 200 pounds of food. It's also remarkable when you compare it to the 250 million poultry in 63 countries that were culled following the outbreak of avian flu in China in 1996.
This African swine fever outbreak, in other words, is much worse than that avian flu outbreak in terms of livestock losses.
"It's historic; there's never been anything like this in the history of modern animal production," said McCracken.
"And it's a frightening situation only in that there is no current control."Pig 'Ebola' Virus Sends Shock Waves Through Global Food Chain (https://www.facebook.com/bloombergbusiness/videos/pig-ebola-virus-sends-shock-waves-through-global-food-chain/364880140797065/)

Well, as this thread was started with an image of the four horsemen, I felt like this may fit in. One of them stirring up some trials and tribulations of a different kind perhaps........
"Extinct volcano has woken up, scientists say and it could erupt 'at any time."
A volcano in the far eastern corner of Russia that was previously considered extinct may be waking up. An eruption could be catastrophic event.
The Bolshaya Udina volcano of the Kamchatka Peninsula's Udina volcanic complex was thought to be extinct until 2017, when increasing seismic activity was detected beneath it.
Now, Ivan Koulakov, a geophysicist from Russia's A.A. Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, led a study into the volcano and believes it should be reclassified as active.

UPDATE ON NADI HOSPITAL STATUS (!)
POWER OUTAGES ? NO WIFI ? NO ISSUE WHATSOEVER (!)
Florida Maquis
He points to the second article saying they died "around Memorial Day" (I had to check to see when that was, as it means nothing to me), but he doesn't say that the first article says:
QuoteThe couple were staying at the hotel after arriving in the country on May 22 and were expected to depart Fiji on May 27.
They suddenly fell ill and were taken to a medical clinic. Mrs Paul died on May 25. Mr Paul died three days later at Lautoka Hospital.
So we know when they died.
An interesting thing is that neither of them was, apparently, admitted to the Nadi hospital.
PS: to add a little more conspiracy theory material, the man worked at Lockheed Martin.
QuoteJames Paul, 38, an engineer with US global aerospace, defence and security firm Lockheed Martin Corporation, and his wife, Jane Michelle Canalog Paul, 35, were staying at a hotel on Denarau, Nadi, when they mysteriously fell ill and died.
A more detailed description of what happened, told by a nurse.
QuoteShe said she was on duty when the couple were brought in a buggy from their hotel room to the centre at about 8am.
"My colleague and I were the first ones to see the couple and they had symptoms similar to fever such as vomiting, diarrhoea and weakness and they were treated and wanted to go back to where they stayed," the nurse said.
She said they administered the couple normal saline drip. The couple stayed until about midday when they were taken back to their hotel room.
At 5.30pm, the woman was brought back to the centre because she collapsed in her room, the nurse said. She was dead when she reached the clinic.
Mr Paul was in shock. The doctors at the centre suggested that he be taken to Lautoka Hospital.
At Lautoka Hospital his condition became serious and he was put in the ICU. He died on May 28.

So we know the dates and we even have an idea of the time of death of the woman.
The above mentioned nurse was one of the people admitted to Nadi Hospital

Ebola: Who created this terrible virus and why? (https://www.pambazuka.org/food-health/ebola-who-created-terrible-virus-and-why)
Conspiracy theories that Ebola – and HIV – are bio-weapons created by the West to depopulate Africa refuse to die away. Leaks from within Western establishments and the behaviour of these capitlist powers fuel the theories. They are difficult to ignore.[...]
According to the WHO latest toll released just before Christmas, Sierra Leone accounts for the most cases, 8,939 deaths, while Liberia has 7,830 and Guinea 2,571. However, the Western media spread a lot of myths in order to hide America's Ebola deadly, gruesome and macabre project behind the cloak of 'humanitarian intervention'!
EBOLA IS PART US BIO-WARFARE IN AFRICAIn his previous articles published in Pambazuka, this writer already relayed the American law professor Francis A. Boyle's interview with Aggeliki Dimopoulou of Greece-based tvxs.gr in which he categorically stated that USA bio-warfare laboratories in West Africa are the origins of the Ebola epidemic. This led Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy to ask: 'Is the US government the master criminal of our time?' (Press TV, 20 October 2014). Dr Roberts also argued that although the public continues to be reassured that Ebola is not a problem for the US, the fact that CNN reported that President Obama appointed an Ebola czar who is not a medical person but an insider lawyer who served as chief of staff to Vice President Biden, proves that Ebola conspiracy theories which are spreading faster than Ebola, as far as any of us knows, could be true (Press TV, 13 October 2014).
'What we are dealing with here is a biological warfare work that was conducted at the bio-warfare laboratories set up by the USA on the west coast of Africa. And if you look at a map produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) you can see where these laboratories are located. And they are across the heart of the Ebola epidemic, at the west coast of Africa. So, I think these laboratories, one or more of them, are the origins of the Ebola epidemic. They did the same in Nicaragua and Cuba,' Professor Francis A. Boyle revealed.
He went on:
'I have absolute proof from a Pentagon document that the Centers for Disease Control were doing bio-warfare work for the Pentagon in Sierra Leone, the heart of the outbreak, as early as 1988.'(http://www.thelivingmoon.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10005/ebola_infectious-diseases-cover-PNG~0.png)
And indeed it was probably before then because they would have had to construct the lab and that would have taken some time. So we know that Fort Detrick and the Centers for Disease Control are over there, Tulane University, which is a well-known bio-warfare center here in USA—I would say notorious for it—is there. They all have been over there.
'In addition, the US government made sure that Liberia, a former colony of the USA, never became a party to the Biological Weapons Convention, so they were able to do bio-warfare work over there — going back to 1980s — the USA government, in order to circumvent the Biological Weapons Convention. Likewise, Guinea, the third state affected here — and there is an increase now — didn't even sign the Biological Weapons Convention. So, it seems to me that the different agencies of the US government have always been there to try to circumvent the Biological Weapons Convention and engage in bio-warfare work. Indeed, we had one of these two lab bio-warriors admit in the New York Times that they were not over there for the purpose of either screening or treating people. That's not what these labs are about. These labs are there in my opinion to do bio-warfare work for different agencies of the US government. Indeed, many of them were set up by USAID. And everyone knows that USAID is penetrated all up and down by the CIA and the CIA has been involved in bio-warfare work as well.'
Since then, other startling revelations just kept coming out, proving Professor Francis A. Boyle right.
The Observer, a Liberian daily newspaper, on Tuesday 9 September 2014, published an article written by Dr. Cyril Broderick, a former professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Liberia's College of Agriculture and Forestry.
Dr. Broderick started by charging that an article published in the Internet news summary publication of the US-based 'Friends of Liberia' which he read, was laughable because it alleged that the initiation of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa was due to the contact of a two-year-old child with bats that had flown in from the Congo.
Aren't we all stupid, they think? We would believe that bats can fly all the way from Congo to Liberia, hundreds of kilometres away, with the purpose of biting a Liberian girl so she can spread the Ebola Virus? How come these bats did not bite any other people in other countries you find between Liberia and Congo which have not reported any Ebola outbreak at all? Are they saying that these bats flew all the way from Congo to Liberia without any stop-over? Come on!
In response, Dr. Broderick sent an article to 'Friends of Liberia' to be published in its web site, in which he argued that deadly diseases such as Ebola and AIDS are bio-weapons being tested on Africans. In addition, other reports have linked the Ebola virus outbreak to an attempt to reduce Africa's population. Liberia happens to be the continent's fastest growing population. But the professor's article was not published. Finally, the Daily Observer accepted to publish the article because it contains compelling truths.
According to Dr. Broderick,
Ebola is a genetically-modified organism; it has a terrible history because its testing has been secretly taking place. Sites around Africa have over the years been set up for testing emerging diseases, especially Ebola. By who?
(a) The US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a well-known centre for bio-war research, located at Fort Detrick, Maryland;
(b) Tulane University, in New Orleans, USA, winner of research grants, including a grant of more than $7 million from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to fund research with the Lassa viral haemorrhagic fever;
(c) The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC);
(d) Doctors Without Borders (also known by its French name, Medicins Sans Frontiers);
(e) Tekmira, a Canadian pharmaceutical company;
(f) The UK's GlaxoSmithKline; and
(g) The Kenema Government Hospital in Kenema, Sierra Leone.
Reports such as the one published by Theguardian.com, narrate stories of the US Department of Defense (DoD) funding Ebola trials on humans, trials which started just weeks before the Ebola outbreak in Guinea and Sierra Leone. The reports continue and state that
the DoD gave a contract worth $140 million dollars to Tekmira, a Canadian pharmaceutical company, to conduct Ebola research. This research work involved injecting and infusing healthy humans with the deadly Ebola virus.Hence, the DoD is listed as a collaborator in a 'First in Human' Ebola clinical trial (NCT02041715, which started in January 2014 shortly before an Ebola epidemic was declared in West Africa in March). Disturbingly, many reports also conclude that the US government has a viral fever bioterrorism research laboratory in Kenema, a town at the epicentre of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
Dr. Broderick finally called upon African leaders and African countries to take the lead in defending babies, children, African women, African men, and the elderly who do not deserve to be used as Guinea pigs and highlighted the need for legal action against the U. S., Canada, France, and the U.K. to obtain redress for damages incurred due to the perpetuation of injustice in the death, injury and trauma imposed on Liberians and other Africans by the Ebola and other disease agents.

AIDS AND EBOLA NOT FROM CONGOLESE BATS AND MONKEYSDongen dismissed another myth according to which Aids and Ebola came from monkeys in Congo because Congolese people eat monkeys and human contact with monkeys resulted in the outbreaks. African people have been hunting for centuries and eating wild animals has not decimated the whole African population. This is an insult to the African culture. Have Europeans and Americans stopped eating beef because of mad cow disease?
Professor Dongen stressed that Aids and Ebola are medical crimes to depopulate Africa, adding that, the case is very sensitive, especially due to those involved: America, Belgium, Holland Germany, and World Health Organization. Authorities for decades have tried to cover up those crimes. Africa accounts for 25 million out of the estimated 38 million people across the world infected with HIV, and the vast majority of infected Africans are women, according to UNAIDS estimates...

Major threat ignored by mainstream media
Kelen McBreen | Infowars.com - JUNE 8, 2019
After being placed in San Antonio, the illegal immigrants are bussed to a destination of their choice by local charities who spend "roughly $14,000 a week on bus tickets."
Last weekend, a group of more than 100 illegals from Angola, Cameroon and Congo were filmed wading through the Rio Grande River and entering the United States.
In a statement, CBP said, "Agents have encountered 182 large groups (100+ individuals) across the SW border this fiscal year. This is the first large group apprehended in Del Rio Sector this FY and the first large group apprehended on the SW border this FY consisting entirely of African nationals."
Well this is an expected outcome. According to this article, some of the antibiotics we use in medical applications for our selves and in industrial practices for livestock and other food sources finds its way into our water ways of course, just as many other kinds of pollutants do. The exposure of the microbes to these antibiotics is stimulating the development of new and/or stronger microbes capable of infecting us and animals with diseases we're not able to counter. This is happening in many of our waterways world wide. This is from one of the worst recorded levels, samples from Bangladesh's Kirtankhola River, near the south-central city of Barisal, contained the highest antibiotic concentrations of any surveyed site. The level of Metronidazole approached 40,000 nano-grams per liter, or about 300 times the safe level. The commonly prescribed drug ciprofloxacin exceeded safe levels by a factor of eight.". There are some antibiotics that are not showing up in test samples.
Some of the antibiotics researchers looked for, Oxytetracycline, Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin were not detected at any site. Sounds like we should concentrate on these antibiotics and try to develop varieties of these types for future uses.

I find interesting that one of the finds was that, in some cases, there was a pharmaceutical plant on the rivers with high levels of antibiotics.
QuoteThe exposure of the microbes to these antibiotics is stimulating the development of new and/or stronger microbes capable of infecting us and animals with diseases we're not able to counter. This is happening in many of our waterways world wide.
That's why using antibiotics for cattle growth is forbidden in most countries (the US only did that on 2017).

Not much, as virus are not affected by antibiotics, so while other diseases may spread and/or appear thanks to the excess of antibiotics in Nature, virus will ignore them.
There was meeting on Friday, June 14th, to discuss the situation in Congo.
Statement on the meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee for Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (https://www.who.int/news-room/detail/14-06-2019-statement-on-the-meeting-of-the-international-health-regulations-(2005)-emergency-committee-for-ebola-virus-disease-in-the-democratic-republic-of-the-congo)
QuoteThe Committee expressed its deep concern about the ongoing outbreak, which, despite some positive epidemiological trends, especially in the epicentres of Butembo and Katwa, shows that the extension and/or reinfection of disease in other areas like Mabalako, presents, once again, challenges around community acceptance and security. In addition, the response continues to be hampered by a lack of adequate funding and strained human resources.
The cluster of cases in Uganda is not unexpected; the rapid response and initial containment is a testament to the importance of preparedness in neighbouring countries. The Committee commends the communication and collaboration between DRC and Uganda.
At the same time, the exportation of cases into Uganda is a reminder that, as long as this outbreak continues in DRC, there is a risk of spread to neighbouring countries, although the risk of spread to countries outside the region remains low.
QuoteIt was the view of the Committee that the outbreak is a health emergency in DRC and the region but does not meet all the three criteria for a PHEIC under the IHR. While the outbreak is an extraordinary event, with risk of international spread, the ongoing response would not be enhanced by formal Temporary Recommendations under the IHR (2005).
PS: I saw this today on Euronews, so it looks like someone is talking about it.
Everyone should read The Hot Zone (https://www.amazon.com/Hot-Zone-Terrifying-Story-Origins/dp/0385479565) by Richard Preston. The incident featured in that book proved that filoviruses are completely unpredictable.

LOL Oh my, Ebola is an infectious disease and so are some of the possible results of this antibiotic pollution situation. That's why it fits.... That's all. Never said it was a virus, lol just posted the article here as it is about the possibility of creating new INFECTIOUS diseases. I guess you didn't see the four horsemen in the thread. They don't just do viruses....lol Not to mention that there are other post in this thread that are about various infectious diseases and this artical is stated as a global happening, just as is the Ebola situation. So yes it does fit here fine. Your just doing the same thing again. lol

Do Congolese Illegals Crossing Border Carry Ebola? WHO Tracking Outbreak In Africa, Nearly 1,500 Dead... (https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/immigration/item/32571-do-congolese-illegals-crossing-border-carry-ebola-who-tracking-outbreak-in-africa-nearly-1-500-dead)

As bad as the illegal-alien tsunami at the border is now, it might just get worse — much worse.
While almost all of the
676,315 illegals who crossed the border between October 1 and May 31 are Central Americans, border agents now face trouble with a new alien host: Africans who somehow scraped together the money to get to Mexico.
WTF?
Check this out...
AND THIS: Africans coming across southern border have 'rolls of $100 bills' (https://yournews.com/2019/06/18/1046397/africans-coming-across-southern-border-have-rolls-of-100-bills/)
The Africans began arriving at the end of May, and not only are they crossing the border to declare squatter's rights in the United States, they also pose a major health threat. The Democratic Republic of Congo, where some of the illegals are from, is suffering a major outbreak of Ebola virus disease. Nearly 1,500 are dead.
Now, that virus might be here.
Africa Is ComingOn June 8, Breitbart.com reported that border authorities had dropped the possible virus bomb into San Antonio, Texas, which has already received a massive dose of illegal Central Americans:
San Antonio officials scrambled this week to find French-speaking volunteers to help with hundreds of Congolese migrants arriving in the Alamo City.
"We didn't get a heads up," Interim Assistant City Manager Dr. Collen Bridger told KEN 5 after a group of 350 Congolese migrants arrived in the city unexpectedly. "When we called Border Patrol to confirm, they said, 'yea another 200 to 300 from the Congo and Angola will be coming to San Antonio.'"
NIMBY
Frighteningly, city officials planned to ship the Congolese to Portland, Maine, which was already overloaded with Africans.
"When we reached out to Portland, Maine they said, 'Please don't send us any more. We're already stretched way beyond our capacity," Bridger told Breitbart. So now,
the plan is to inoculate another city.Angolans, Camaroonians, and Congolese began arriving in the Lone Star State at the end of May.
Border agents caught 15 Congolese at Eagle Pass on May 28. One bunch of possible virus carriers, apprehended on May 30, was 116-strong, Customs and Border Protection reported. CBP video-recorded that crossing. Hundreds more showed up at the Laredo crossing on May 13.
By June 5, Breitbart reported, more than 500 had showed up.
Deadly VirusBut the overwhelming numbers of illegal immigrants, might well be the least of this nation's worries.
As The New American has reported before,
thousands of the illegals are likely sick. Border officials in Mexico and the United States have been dealing with illegal Central Americans who carry AIDS, tuberculosis, measles, strep, the flu, and other possibily deadly diseases.
Now, dealing with the Congolese, they might face the deadly Ebola virus, a germ so frightening it is the subject of cinematic thrillers. In the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan, based on novelist Tom Clancy's hero, an Islamic terrorist used the virus in his plan to kill the president.
Since last year about this time, officials with the World Health Organization have been tracking a major outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's North Kivu Province, which borders Uganda and Rwanda.
As of June 10, WHO had confirmed 1,302 deaths and another "probable" 94. The organization has also confirmed 1,997 total cases, and another probable 94. So more than 67 percent of those with the virus have died. The organization has published 44 situation reports on the outbreak.
WHO officials also confirm the outbreak jumped the border into Uganda in a five-year-old Congolese boy.
SymptomsThe seven varieties of the virus, which spreads in bodily fluids, cause a hemorrhagic fever that is often if not mostly fatal. The symptoms include fever, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, muscle pain, severe headache, stomach pain, and unexplained hemorrhaging, the Centers for Disease Control explains at its website.
Symptoms don't show right away, and might take as long as three weeks to surface.
Scientists discovered the virus, CDC explains, in 1976 on the Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where two outbreaks occurred.
The disease showed up in the United States after an outbreak in West Africa in 2014:
11 people were treated for EVD in the U.S., two of whom died. The majority were infected with the Ebola virus outside of the U.S. and either medically evacuated into the U.S. for treatment or entered the country as a regular airline passenger. In addition, two nurses who cared for a sick Ebola patient contracted EVD, marking the first known transmission of EVD in the United States.

China's deadly African swine fever epidemic is spreading across Asia
South China Morning Post
Published on May 23, 2019
Millions of pigs have been slaughtered across Asia as African swine fever spreads since the first outbreak of the disease was reported in August 2018 in northeastern China – the world's largest pork producer and consumer.
Now the contagious disease – which is deadly to pigs but not a risk to human health – is causing huge economic losses across the continent, as farmers in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Cambodia are forced to culls their herds.

A woman has tested positive for the contagious H1N1 (swine flu) virus at Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital in Bariatu, civil surgeon Dr Vijay Bihari Prasad told The Telegraph on Wednesday.
Sources at the hospital said the woman is undergoing treatment since Monday under Dr Vijay Mishra in the isolation ward, and recovering well.
"The woman was referred from Guru Nanak Hospital, where she underwent treatment for five days," a source at Medica said. "The lady had not gone outside the state but met several relatives from other states during a wedding. It is quite possible that some of her relatives might be carrying the swine flu virus."

First Ebola patient in eastern DRC's largest city dies
Priest's death in Goma raises fears virus could spread more widely across Congo
QuoteThe first Ebola patient in the largest city in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has died, authorities have said.
The spread of the virus to Goma, a city of roughly 1 million people and a regional transport hub, has raised fears the outbreak, already the second deadliest ever Ebola epidemic, could spread more widely.
QuoteThe patient was a priest who became infected during a visit to the town of Butembo, one of the epicentres of the outbreak, before taking a bus to Goma, Congolese officials have said.
He was being driven from Goma to a clinic in Butembo on Monday to receive treatment when he died, North Kivu province's governor, Carly Nzanzu, said.
The World Health Organization said on Monday health officials had identified 60 people who had come into contact with the pastor since he was taken ill and half of them had been vaccinated.
Goma, more than 220 miles south of where the Ebola outbreak was first detected a year ago, is the largest city to be affected by the outbreak. Many of the region's usable roads pass through Goma and it is a focus of air and water transport.

Congo's Ebola Virus Epidemic Is Declared a Global Health Emergency Denise Grady 3 hrs ago
QuoteThe year-old Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now considered a global health emergency, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday, in a formal declaration that many public health experts called long overdue.
Emergency declarations are issued sparingly, reserved for outbreaks that pose a serious threat to public health and could spread to other countries. They are meant to increase international attention and aid to help stop epidemics.
As of Monday, the Congo outbreak had infected 2,512 people and killed 1,676 of them. The disease has defied efforts to control its spread in the northeastern part of the country, a conflict zone under constant threat from warring militias. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, the director-general of the WHO, has described the outbreak as one of the world's most dangerous viruses in one of the world's most dangerous areas.
It is the second largest outbreak in history after the one in West Africa in 2014-15, which infected 28,616 people and caused 11,310 deaths. That epidemic was declared a global emergency.
The decision on Wednesday was based on a vote by 11 members of an expert panel convened by Dr. Tedros to reassess the current outbreak after an infected man carried the virus to the city of Goma, a densely populated transportation hub close to Rwanda that has an international airport. That patient has died.
Wednesday was the fourth time that Dr. Tedros convened the expert panel to consider whether the outbreak met the criteria for a "public health emergency of international concern." The first three times, the panel said no, drawing sharp criticism from many specialists in public health.
Global health groups had been calling for the declaration for months. Josie Golding of the Wellcome Trust, a research charity based in London, said the response in Congo was "overstretched and underfunded." Giving the outbreak emergency status, she added, would "help raise international support and release more resources — including finance, health care workers, enhanced logistics, security and infrastructure."
The WHO said it had received $49 million from international donors from February to July, only half the money it needs. Officials who have visited the region say supplies are running short, including the protective gear that health workers need to avoid becoming infected. At a United Nations meeting about the outbreak on Monday, one official said he had seen syringes and gloves being reused because equipment was becoming scarce.
The man who brought the disease to Goma was a pastor who had preached in seven churches in the epidemic zone, laying hands on the sick. He became ill and was treated by a nurse, but got on a bus to Goma anyway. The bus stopped at three checkpoints meant to halt the spread of the disease by screening passengers for symptoms, but his illness was not detected. He gave a different name at each checkpoint, apparently hoping to avoid being detained, local health authorities said. Sick and feverish by the time he arrived in Goma, he went to a clinic there, where the disease was diagnosed.
He was the only patient in the Goma clinic, which was disinfected after his visit. Health authorities have been tracking the 18 other bus passengers and the driver, as well as others who might have been exposed to the disease by the pastor, and providing vaccinations.

Ebola now curable after trials of drugs in DRC, say scientists
Sarah Boseley Health editor 1 day ago
Ebola can no longer be called an incurable disease, scientists have said, after two of four drugs being trialled in the major outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo were found to have significantly reduced the death rate.
ZMapp, used during the massive Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, has been dropped along with Remdesivir after two monoclonal antibodies, which block the virus, had substantially more effect, said the World Health Organization and the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which were co-sponsors of the trial.
The trial in the DRC, which started in November, has now been stopped. All Ebola treatment units will now use the two monoclonal antibody drugs.
"From now on, we will no longer say that Ebola is incurable," said Prof Jean-Jacques Muyembe, the director general of the Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale in DRC, which has overseen the trial. "These advances will help save thousands of lives."
One of the biggest obstacles in fighting the year-long DRC outbreak, the second biggest ever and now with 2,800 cases, has been the reluctance of those who fall sick to seek treatment.
It has not helped that the chances of survival have been low – up to 70% of those infected in the DRC have died. Muyembe said many people saw family members go into an Ebola treatment centre and come out dead.
"Now that 90% of their patients can go into the treatment centre and come out completely cured, they will start believing it and building trust in the population and community," he said.
Anthony Fauci, the director of the US NIAID, said the overall mortality of those given ZMapp in the trial in four centres was 49% while that of Remdesivir was 53%. A monoclonal antibody drug made by Regeneron had the lowest overall death rate, at 29%, while the monoclonal antibody 114 made by Ridgeback Biotherapeutics had a mortality rate of 34%.
But the results in people who arrived at a treatment centre soon after they became sick, rather than staying at home, were even more impressive – with death rates of 24% on ZMapp, 33% with Remdesivir, 11% with 114 and just 6% with Regeneron's drug.
On average, people who fall ill are not turning up at a treatment centre for four days, said Dr Michael Ryan from the World Health Organization. This reduces their chances of survival and makes it likely that the virus, spread through bodily fluids, will be transmitted to their families.
"The numbers might change," said Fauci. "Not all the data has been accumulated." The two monoclonal antibodies will both now be used in every treatment centre in DRC.
Fauci paid tribute to all of those involved in the trial in four towns: Beni, Katwa, Butembo and Mangina. NGOs including International Medical Corps and Médecins Sans Frontières "put their lives on the line every day to care for patients in extremely difficult conditions in the area where the outbreak is occurring," he said.
Clinical trials in epidemic conditions are hard – even more so in Ebola outbreaks, where medical staff have to wear protective suits and all patients must be isolated.
"This trial – the first-ever multi-drug randomised trial for Ebola – has happened despite such highly complex and challenging circumstance," said Dr Jeremy Farrar, the director of Wellcome and the co-chair of the WHO Ebola therapeutics group. "A long-running outbreak like this takes a terrible toll on the communities affected and it is a sign of just how difficult this epidemic has been to control that there have already been enough patients treated to tell us more about the efficacy of these four drugs."
The trial will have saved lives, he said. The next phase should reveal more about which of the two works best in certain settings. "The more we learn about these two treatments, and how they can complement the public health response, including contact tracing and vaccination, the closer we can get to turning Ebola from a terrifying disease to one that is preventable and treatable. We won't ever get rid of Ebola but we should be able to stop these outbreaks from turning into major national and regional epidemics," he said.

Ebola drugs show '90% survival rate' in breakthrough trial
40 minutes ago
Ebola may soon be a "preventable and treatable" disease after a trial of two drugs showed significantly improved survival rates, scientists have said.
Four drugs were trialled on patients in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where there is a major outbreak of the virus.
More than 90% of infected people can survive if treated early with the most effective drugs, the research showed.
The drugs will now be used to treat all patients with the disease in DR Congo, according to health officials.
On Tuesday, two people cured of Ebola using the experimental drugs were released from a treatment centre in Goma, eastern DR Congo, and reunited with their families.
The US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which co-sponsored the trial, said the results are "very good news" for the fight against Ebola.
Why is a new Ebola vaccine so controversial?
Ebola disbelief widespread in Congo hotspots
Half of Ebola cases in DR Congo 'unidentified'
Ebola outbreak in five graphics
The drugs, named REGN-EB3 and mAb114, work by attacking the Ebola virus with antibodies, neutralising its impact on human cells.
They are the "first drugs that, in a scientifically sound study, have clearly shown a significant diminution in mortality" for Ebola patients, said Dr Anthony Fauci, director of NIAID.
The drug mAb114 was developed using antibodies harvested from survivors of Ebola while REGN-EB3 comes from antibodies generated within mice infected with the disease.
Ebola has killed more than 1,800 people in DR Congo in the past year.
Two other treatments, called ZMapp and Remdesivir, have been dropped from trials as they were found to be less effective.
What were the results of the trial?
The trial, conducted by an international research group co-ordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO), began in November last year.
Since then, four experimental drugs have been tested on around 700 patients, with the preliminary results from the first 499 now known.
Of the patients given the two more effective drugs, 29% on REGN-EB3 and 34% on mAb114 died, NIAID said.
In contrast, 49% on ZMapp and 53% on Remdesivir died in the study, the agency said.
The survival rate among patients with low levels of the virus in their blood was as high as 94% when they were given REGN-EB3, and 89% when on mAb114, the agency said.
The findings mean health authorities can "stress to people that more than 90% of people survive" if they are treated early, said Sabue Mulangu, an infectious-disease researcher who worked on the trial.
What impact could the drugs have?
Hailing the success of the study, Jeremy Farrar, director of the Wellcome Trust global health charity, said the treatments would "undoubtedly save lives".
The findings, Mr Farrar said, indicate scientists are getting closer to turning Ebola into a "preventable and treatable" disease.
"We won't ever get rid of Ebola but we should be able to stop these outbreaks from turning into major national and regional epidemics," he added.
A sense that Ebola is incurable, paired with widespread mistrust of medical workers in the DR Congo, has hampered efforts to stop the spread of the disease.
It is hoped that the effectiveness of the drugs, made by US-based pharmaceutical firms, will make patients feel "more comfortable about seeking care early", said Dr Fauci.
But the best way to end the outbreak, he added, is "with a good vaccine". A vaccine is a type of medicine that improves immunity to a particular disease, as a preventative measure.
The World Health Organization (WHO) say vaccines developed to protect against Ebola, which are allowed for "compassionate use" before official licensing, have proven highly effective.
How serious is the DR Congo outbreak?
The current outbreak in eastern DR Congo began in August last year and is the biggest of the 10 to hit the country since 1976, when the virus was first discovered.
In July, the WHO declared the Ebola crisis in the country a "public health emergency of international concern".
But it is dwarfed by the West African epidemic of 2014-16, which affected 28,616 people, mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. About 11,310 people died in what was the largest outbreak of the virus ever recorded.
However, attempts to contain the latest outbreak are proving difficult. In particular, militia group violence and suspicion towards foreign medical assistance have hindered efforts.
Earlier this month, three Congolese doctors were arrested in DR Congo over the killing of a WHO medic.
About 200 health facilities have been attacked in the country this year, causing disruption to vaccinations and treatments. In one incident, family members assaulted health workers who were overseeing the burial of their relative.
A 2018 study published in the Lancet medical journal says "belief in misinformation was widespread" concerning the Ebola outbreak.
What is Ebola?
Ebola is a virus that initially causes sudden fever, intense weakness, muscle pain and a sore throat
It progresses to vomiting, diarrhoea and both internal and external bleeding
People are infected when they have direct contact through broken skin, or the mouth and nose, with the blood, vomit, faeces or bodily fluids of someone with Ebola
Patients tend to die from dehydration and multiple organ failure
Very good, Otter, it is very good news that there is a cure for Ebola, and with a 90% sucess rate, that is very encouraging, for it does eliminate or at least greatly reduce the chance of it becoming a world wide pandemic 8)
